||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did like the initial feel and appearance of this Sony player, which I purchased to replace an older Sony Blu-ray device. But, and this is probably not an issue with all of these players, I could not get the player to connect to my Wi-Fi system. After many attempts, I found that the network setting was hard set to wired only. There was no way I could change this, even trying to do a firmware update. My suspicion is that this open box unit was programmed to be a demo unit in the store. So, back it went and I moved on to another brand player.

I haven't set it up yet because I'm in the process of rearranging my apartment and haven't had time. If there's any problems with the unit, I'm covered by the 4-year protection plan.

To resolve this, we recommend performing the following troubleshooting steps:
1. Power cycle the player by unplugging it from the power source for about 2 minutes, then plug it back in.
2. Inspect your discs to make sure they are in excellent condition with no scratches.
3. Perform a factory data reset by going to Setup > Resetting > Reset to Factory Default Settings > All Settings > Start > Close > Turn off the player and then turn it back on.

We understand your frustration with DVD navigation and screen settings. This is often resolved by adjusting a couple of settings: please go to the player's Setup menu and ensure the 4K Upscale Setting is set to Off or None for smoother DVD menu navigation. For screen stretching on older DVDs, try setting the DVD Aspect Ratio in the Screen Settings to Letterbox.

We paid extra for the tutorial by the installer, and it was definitely worth. He took his time, and thoroughly explained everything, and then made sure we could do it.
