One thing you’ll get out of this that the JBL counterparts can’t is the higher Bluetooth codec which you can really hear. It’s crisp and well balanced. In the end I had the chance to pick up the Bose Soundlink Max and I’m here to tell you that if you are leaning towards the Bose for any reason, just do it. The sound stage is impeccable and this is where Sony fell flat for me. Without the side by side I would still have the Field 5.

It’s a great speaker to take to a pool, beach, or river. A real cool new feature is the band it comes with. I used it on a jet ski on vocation. It was amazing ! I recommend to get this one instead of the smaller one because it all brings the lights on the side.

I listen to music with a variety of instruments playing all simultaneously and I can now say this one goes it's job well. Smooth sound but powerful at the same time.
