I have seen many party speakers come and go with their own varying degrees of strengths and weaknesses. The ULT is all strength. Firstly, yes, it is massive, and I'm assuming that has to do with the assumed large battery that keeps this monster going for hours on end. That being said, the wheels and "perfectly placed" handle make rolling it around fairly easy. I emphasize easy as the wheels are very functional and not an afterthought. That being said, it is very sturdy, and I don't feel the need to be delicate when moving it around. And for me, that is the star, the battery. All speakers I have owned with this power needed to be plugged in and/or needed a good external battery. I have been rocking this for hours on end, and it has sparsely needed to be charged. Unless your event goes for 24hhours, this will keep rocking along. Whether inside or outside, the sound is amazing. All music types and genres sound crisp and distortion and "mud" free. The sound also fills whatever space it's in, and I rarely needed to push the volume past 60%. What makes it a "party speaker" is all the fun bells and whistles. Pop-out mic holders, bright vibrant lighting effects, guitar and mic controls, and for the karaoke enthusiast, a key changer button to keep you matched to tune. Just set this speaker up with a few mics, a source, and let the folks start belting! Once again, these features feel well designed and not just an afterthought. Connecting my phone (and others) was simple and didn't require the app, but once I installed the app, it made the remote features accessible so I could control the audio, visual experience from anywhere. Also, like my last couple Sony speakers, it has the party connect feature to chain all the speakers together for crazy multi-speaker coverage. The last thing I'll expound on is the ULT button. It has three different presets, that are similar to Bass Boost and Live buttons of Sony speakers of old, but much more transformative. Heavy bass lines benefit from the meatier Bass mode, and concert-ish pieces shake the house with the "power" mode press. The button actually does create different soundscapes to suit your experience. If there are any complaints about this speaker, they aren't worth mentioning, and do not come to mind as of writing this review. It's simply a one of the best party speakers, and speakers in general, I have owned.

first time owning giant boombox speakers and sony latest ult tower 9 definitely did not disappoint!, this tower packs amazing sounding quality audio and wow eve been enjoying this for over a week now. just want to give my input about this product. DEVICE: I think for Ult tower 9 is a perfect size and height, it’s not too big and I can still fit this inside my car to able to transfer from different locations. I think the design is well thought out, the coating is good but the coating where the buttons are on top has a different quality. Ult Tower 9 weighs about 65 hounds, I can reach about 25 hours of battery life fully charge but you also have the options to keep the speaker plug. at the back you also have the ability to charge your phone, an audio in and an optical in that gives you the ability to connect it to your tv to improve your listening experiences during films. Ult tower 9 also have some great dancing rgb lighting that react to beat, you have the options from either lights on/ off either multi colors or a single color to choose from. if you enjoy karaoke then Ult tower 9 is a perfect speaker for that you have the ability to plug 2 mic or a guitar, it also comes build in with microphone holder on both side and it can be inserted in and out. SOFTWARE since the packaging you will get a QR code that takes you direct to download Sonys sound connect app. once connected this applications is where you’ll need to update the Ult Tower 9. the app also have support to control the EQ to create your own custom audio setting. or use sony Ult button that has two audio profile for either a more of a bass audio profile. the app also offer some fun button to mess with when using the tower night. perfect for party to get to getting an pressing the app to make that classic DJ audio effects sounds, I love that feature. CONCLUSION you can do a lot with Sony Ult Tower 9 you even have the ability to connect multiple speakers or another Ult Tower 9 for a stereo quality. fortunately I was not able to test that but I did have a lot of time connecting through Bluetooth, i’ve connected on most times in my PC and i’ve noticed some mileseconds of audio delay, which is quite disappointing, i’ve had other audio devices that i’ve tested on bluetooth and had better performance compared to the Sony Ult tower 9. also it took me atleast on the 3rd before this speaker was able to connect to my phone, i’ve downloaded and reconnected the speaker multiple times before I was able to manage to connect and finally able to update. you do need to update this device to be able to use its extra feature including the party buttons. the power cord could also use a bit more length luckly I have my own power card that’s 10 fit long, but in reality you should even need it since it can play fully wirelessly for hours

The Ult Tower 9 Party Speaker has been a great addition to our supply inventory. The set up to use with iPhone was seamless, battery life is good, and the sound quality is great! We have a nice size yard ( 2 acres) and can hear music at every corner without the volume up to full capacity. I was concerned about disturbing our neighbors and needed to see how far we could walk away from the house and still hear music. We made it to the bus stop which is around the corner about 5 houses away before the sound faded even though we could still hear the bass. Soon after, a neighbor called and asked my husband if he was playing music. The tower was not turned up to full capacity, it was the bass. A few adjustments to the settings corrected that issues but, I knew then we were Yard Party Ready! I would also like to thank Rochelle Sawyer at store #299 in Raleigh, NC. It was Rochelle’s first day and I must say her enthusiasm to assist was amazing. The fact that she was honest about it being her first day and getting additional assistance after trying to troubleshoot the issue was appreciated. To be honest, several employees walked past us as we were trying to test the display and she was the only one that asked if we needed help. Thank you again Rochelle for your assistance!!

This is a upgrade to the 900 model. When i tell you that they could have put this in its own category. The sound is soooo much better than the 900. The bass is unbelievable. Very nice highs and lows. This one speaker sounds better than the 2 900s that i got. You will not be disappointed if you decide to purchase this unit. With that said, you also have a choice,. You can get the ac only or you can get the one that has battery and ac. With the battery version, you get up to 25hrs of play. Will you really get 25hrs? I dint know, but i do know that you throw a party and it will last more than 5hrs on a charge. It also have a quick charge so if it does die, you would only be down for 5min at the most and you will be right back to the powerful sounds of this sony beast. Highly recommended.

Wow! You xan actually feel the bass in uour chest, the sound isnt distorded when you turn it up, i have only turned it up a little over half way, if you know how to set your equalizer on your iphone in the music app and the equalizer from the app, the battery last for days, i listened to it for 18 hrs straight with no problem, just have the stamina setting on and you will be amazed, the price for the speaker is worth every cent, theres no comparison to the sound this speaker puts out! Impressive! All tbe way around, And dont forget to face it towards the corner of the room you’re playing it at, and Wow! Is what you’ll say! Guaranteed! Hopefully this review makes someones decision easier to make.

This Sony ULT Tower 9 speaker is an absolute powerhouse! The sound is crystal clear with deep bass that fills the entire room — perfect for parties, get-togethers, or just vibing out solo. The LED lights add a fun, vibrant energy, and the wireless Bluetooth connection is smooth and hassle-free. I was honestly blown away by the audio quality. It exceeded my expectations and has become the centerpiece of every event at my place. Definitely worth the investment!

This thing is awesome, huge but awesome. Moves around nicely and looks fantastic.

Item was top notch. Sound production was good, Battery lasted for hours and easy to move around.

So far so great! The sound is clean. The bass in the ult 1 & ult 2 id more than enough. The battery life is very accurate; but all depends on how loud you listen. To be honest, I can’t turn it more than 30% because it’s loud and clear enough for me. We’ve been singing karaoke out from the thing for 2 plus hours every now and then. I like it a lot and glad didn’t go with the 520 Partybox; too much bass.

Very capable speaker. We got 2 for use in stereo pair outside with the projector and for parties around the pool. There are issues with the app sometimes not allowing me to connect two together. That would give me 4 stars but the speakers pair buttons work just fine so it’s no issue. The speaker resets everything to defaultbsonifnyou need less bass and set the bass eq lower through the app you will have to do it every time. Will update when we ensure the optical out in the projector works with the speakers being in stereo pair mode No other speaker has optical out and we were sold on the 25 hour battery functions

This speaker is amazing i love it. It sounds amazing and i love the base feature its powerful and i like that i can easily take it to places!!

Like what the title say. You can't really get better sound quality for the price. I've had JBL, bose and other home theater equipment for comparison and the Sony one is a league above in terms of music quality and impact. It gives you the feel of a much higher quality dedicated tower speakers with amplifiers. Bass is surprising for its size. Added bonus for mic inputs and optical.

I have only bought Sony products over the years, they are always reliable and I have never been disappointed Sony never ceases to impress, unless space is an issue due to it being quite “bulky”, I highly recommend this product, I currently owned the XP 700 and I’ve had it for the past two years and loved it, But this Ult Tower 9 is on a whole other level! The bass is impressive “it will Definitely will shake the walls in your house” mids and highs are very clear and pronounced at any volume & can handle any genre of music you throw at it! And it sounds even better when paired with my XP700…… I highly recommend this product… definitely worth the money!!

This speaker is just Wow ! It’s very loud and it’s perfect to use for a party !! Definitely worth it . Also lights go with the music as it plays , with the rhythm.

Incredible audio quality, battery life, connectivity, and functionality. Zero complaints as of yet. It's big, but overall proportioned nicely and not an eye-sore. Huge fan, and a justifiable cost in my opinion... I kinda want another

Fantastic speaker, can feel the bass rattle your chest. This speaker comes equipped with capabilities for karaoke and a fun lighting system. Supports LDAC for the best quality of Bluetooth connection. The tower 9 has an absurd 25 hour battery life and you can feel it. Zero complaints.

Bye far the best purchase i have done! Bought it for my hsuband and he loves it. Great sound, quality. The weight does nto bother us, it has wheels we roll jt everywhere.

Hesitant based on the price, but once heard the speaker in store while on vacation, wife was sold. No surprise when we returned home and preparing for our 4th of July gathering, this speaker was top of list. Listened to the the smaller speaker of the series, but did not get the same bass and vocal sound. Wife stood on her 1st decision to go with this speaker and it did not disappoint. The speaker filled our entire house and yard with tunes for the 2 day party. Bass was deep where you could feel it, but did not distort any vocals. 2 sets of guests asked about the speaker as they were amazed at the sound. In the future, may purchase another, not that its at all needed, but just becase..lol.
