Hi LegionOfJoom, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on the Sony - ULT WEAR! We are happy to hear that you like the superior sound quality they deliver. In regards to the active noise canceling going in and out randomly, we would like to share some steps that can help:
1- Turn off the Adaptive Sound Control, this feature detects the wearer's actions and will adjust the noise canceling function automatically, turn it off to have a stable noise canceling effect
2- Check the setting of [Ambient Sound Control]. If it is set to [Ambient Sound], the effect of noise canceling is reduced. Set it to the noise canceling mode. You can do this on the Sony Sound Connect App
3- Initializing the headset to restore factory settings, you can follow the instructions in the link below: https://helpguide.sony.net/mdr/2981/v1/en/contents/TP1001300236.html
