The Sony ULT WEAR Headphones allow you to adjust sound equalization. You can customize the audio via a 5-band equalizer in the Sony Sound Connect app. There are preset EQ settings for various genres and a CLEAR BASS slider for bass control. The headphones also feature two ULT sound modes for enhanced bass, which can be combined with EQ adjustments: ULT1 for deep, low-frequency bass, or ULT2 to experience powerful bass. We’re glad you’re enjoying the great sound of the WH-ULT900N, but we're sorry to hear about the volume cutting out for your spouse. We understand how important it is to find a balance that works for both of you, especially when dealing with hearing challenges.

On many Sony TVs, you can actually output sound to both the headphones and the TV speakers simultaneously by adjusting the Audio Output settings in the menu. This would allow you to enjoy your headphones while your spouse listens at his preferred volume.
