Along with bringing the bass they also supplied impressive noise cancelling and great value for $200 mid range headphones. Noise cancelling was surprisingly effective it can rival some of the premium options out in the market (looking at you Apple) and definitely holds on its own. It even performs similarly to the wh-1000xm4 ( the goat for me) but the Ult Wear imo has better comfort and Bluetooth connection than the outdated wh-1000xm4. The Ult Wear however does not cancel as much noise as the ongoing wh 1000xm5 and recently released wh 1000xm6 ; if noise cancelling is your top priority I would pivot towards the 1000xm6 and not the xm5 because the xm6 have more padding and deeper spacious ear cups than the xm5. The Ult Wear blends the comfort of the xm4 and a sprinkle of the noise cancelling of the xm5 into one and the Ult Wear has the best of two worlds. Bass is obviously the standout of the Ult Wear and since I'm a bass Head I really enjoy listening to music with these . However if you're not a part of the bass Head club don't worry you can still get an enjoyable listening experience without the madness and chaos occurring just don't forget to turn the Ult toggle off thank me later. For the value they offer and given the noise cancelling it can compete with the Ult Wear is a no brainer for someone who wants not only bass but also wants the amenities premium flagships offer the Ult Wear fits what you need for a fraction of the price.

Punches Above It's Weight Class!

The sound quality is great and you can tune it to your liking with the app. The bass is what you want it to be; it can be tight (rock/pop) or rumbling (rap). The fit is comfortable and as it pertains to the ANC...I usually start off my workouts shooting baskets...I couldn't hear the ball bouncing! Since I've only used them for a couple days at the gym, I can't speak to how sturdy they are, but as it pertains to sound quality, fit and ANC...I would highly recommend this set of headphones!

Quality and some getting used to

Nice for the price headphones.

These were also much more affordable. Long battery life is a plus. They are not as high fidelity but I just need wireless phones for audio books and podcasts. The app that allows more features is incomprehensible to me. But for my needs they are good enough

Makes the XM5s harder to justify
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.[Employee of bestbuy] After owning the XM5s for over a year I decided to pick these up as the XM5s severely lacked in bass performance. Despite the "cheaper" feel and build, they perform very well and at times, are on par with the XM5s when in ULT 1 mode and both EQs in flat profiles. It has all the main features Sony advertises for the XM5s with the added benefit of folding itself to save on space, something I dislike about the XM5s. If you're coming from nothing, purchase these as you get big features for a small price. If your main listening genres are bass heavy like EDM, hip-hop, rock, etc, I highly recommend them as they emphasize those notes more and make the song feel more energetic. I personally prefer more bass so these fit me perfectly. The XM5s do have clearer and brighter characteristics than the ULTs at times but that can be compensated by adjusting the EQ. Very comfortable, sleek, light (Weighs the same as XM5), and is feature-rich so you don't feel left out in options. ANC is technically not the same as XM5 but I personally didn't notice a big difference between the two. Also, many claim that the mic isn't as clear as the XM5s but I rarely use these headphones when calling. Overall solid headphone for those who want the music to hit.

A good set of headphones

But the ult’s have a bass boost, which Sony has not had in a while, so i wanted to check them out. I am totally impressed with the sound quality of yhese headphones!
