However, the sound app is trash and the auto shutdown seems to be flawed! The Sony sound app works but you'll have to tinker with it a bit if you're connecting multiple devices. Aside from the app being trash, I've ran into an issue where the headset just randomly powers off after about 15 - 30 minutes, while I'm actively listening to something. The only fix I've found was to turn off the feature that turns the headset off after a period of in actively, but now the headset will not power off if I forget to manually turn them off. These are a personal pain point for me because I'm always on the move, but the battery life seems to be pretty good. Even when I forget to turn it off, it still has a decent amount of battery left, the next day when I put them on.

Great Headphones with Deep Bass

Head rattling bass

Sound is very good and balanced when ULT (the bass mode) is turned off and head rattling when ULT is turned on. There are 2 levels of ULT, the first one being a sweet spot and the second one being an overly exaggerated bass everywhere, listening to non-bassy music on ULT 2 makes you hear bass that you didn't even know was there to begin with (which is kinda nice but can be too much some times). Noise cancelling is very good at all music volume levels and the ambient sound mode is even better assuming you don't go past 50%. The app is very nice and let's you mess with the equalizer to find the perfect sound for you and the carrying case is a nice plus. The only downside is the build quality. The plastic they used feels too cheap for headphones of this price (my previous Sony pair feels WAY better despite being older by more than a couple years and costing the same when they came out), they don't feel like they are going to break that easily, however, for the price, they could have done a way better job; the build quality is basically on par with any $50 headphones.

The only good Sony ULT device

They’re no $500+ Sennheiser with the audio card but the clarity of the mids and moderate bass makes songs immersive. It’s not like other headphones where the “bass” is a vibrating ear piece. It’s bass from the actual speaker itself. I never understood why people think the vibrating ear pieces are “bass”, it’s not and you can clearly hear the difference. Anyway, yeah. They’re solid. I recommend them. I also use them for wired* PS5 gaming. Just know your mic will be through your PS5 controller and not the headphones. Do not buy anything else “Sony ULT” these are the only good things produced from that line. Even the Bluetooth speakers, legit returned the Bluetooth speaker the same day I bought it and got a JBL on-the-go essential instead.

Great Sound & ANC. Both hinges broke.

I use them for gaming and ANC works even when wired, which is a huge plus. I can't hear anything. With all that being said, after 3 months, both hinges cracked and broke. The hollow plastic design is light and comfortable, but completely flawed. Super disappointed.

The sound feels great, not overwhelming and more than enough. It does not stop you from hearing a toddler shreaking right next to you but it muffles it enough that it does not over power the music. I wanted noise cancelling and they are much better than my last pair. They are comfortable, over-the-ear headphones. I do wish the charging cable was as long as the plug-in cord for airplane monitor, so if I ever need to charge more (for long flights), I can still wear them while charging. Not as expensive as some headphones, but not cheap either. I might buy another set for my husband. Oh! They come with a hard-shell case…perfect!

They feel good, sound good, and the battery life is excellent. I brought them with me on vacation and they made the flights so much better; the noise-canceling is top notch. Even on a flight where we were next to the plane's engines, I couldn't hear the plane noise over my music. Battery life is great too! I charged them once before we left and they're at 70% now -- this after 12+ hours of listening and noise-canceling. The bass sounds great on the first ULT mode. I think it's a bit much on the second setting, but that's personal preference. I'm not an audiophile so I won't try to say anything about that, but subjectively I enjoy the sound with a wide variety of music. Definitely worth the price!

To get that harder-hitting bass you're looking for, try pressing the "ULT" button on the left ear cup to cycle between the "Deep Bass" and "Attack Bass" modes. You can also use the Sony | Sound Connect app to increase the "Clear Bass" slider or select the "Heavy" equalizer preset for maximum impact.
