This product did not have some of the features I was looking for in a good turntable

I was shopping locally for a turntable because I did not want to order one online and have to wait for it to arrive. I found this one at a local best buy and picked it up. It requires some assembly, but that is very simple. It functions quite well, and the sound is really good. What I find bad about this turntable is I feel like I now need to upgrade to a better one. I find that several records skip when they don't have significant scratches. Maybe the tone arm assembly is too small or too light. I'm not sure. This isn't an issue with all my records, but I do wonder if a better turntable would solve that problem. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this to someone who looking at an entry level turntable. I love listening to music on it. But I will soon be looking to upgrade.

Distorted my records when I played them, and the overall quality of the player is just cheap. I could have gotten a defective one, but either way I returned it. Hopefully other people have a better experience than me. The Audio Technica around the same price range is really good.

Was a gift but I didn't have the other components to use.

I bought this turntable 3 years ago. It is still working like the day I bought it. Easy setup, use, and the software that came with it was also easy to set up and use. Works great with recording my records to the computer using the USB port. It also works great with my Onkyo 7.1 surround sound receiver. I plug in the RCA plugs to the TV/CD jacks and on the back of the turntable is a switch to activate the built in preamp, so I don't need any extra devices to hear my music through my receiver. Sounds fantastic. Best Turntable for the price.

I did not like this product at all, totally in adequate.

This was purchased for me as a gift and when we set it up and played a record it did not sound good at all. It sounded very scratchy. I would recommend a better model such as audio technica or fluance.

Needle skips constantly even if you level the player

The turntable did not work at all. I was told by Best Buy Online agent a replacement would arrive in 2 days but an email that arrived later said it would take a month. Returning the unit.

I was told you get what you pay for with record players, and for the record I did get this turntable on clearance. Despite the great deal I had to return it because of terrible sound quality and malfunctions.

I recently picked up this turntable at my local Best Buy, and I was extremely happy with my purchase before I even walked out the door. The cashier rang it up and after sales tax and everything it was about $140 -- and I began to hesitate. The cashier asked why and I explained I had seen it online for a LOT cheaper. She asked me where, I told her on Amazon's website.. and she immediately had a manager come over and look it up and they matched the price for me. They did this all on their own as I not only didn't force the issue or even ask, but I didn't even know they did that in the first place. So I was incredibly thankful that they took the time to save me what would end up being about $40. I got it home, opened the box. Item was packed well. The consumer is responsible for putting the belt and plate on but it was very, very easy and I had the thing together in less than 2 minutes. Brought it to the living room, plugged in my Bose Companion II speakers with the RCA output cord built into the turntable. Put on a 12" LP and was immediately happy. If you don't have a separate pre-amp -- no worries, the built in pre-amp is perfectly capable of filling up a room. I would certainly suggest at least decent speakers. You can plug these into 2.1 computer speakers, but if you're going cheap with those, you won't be fully utilizing the sound quality this turntable is pushing out. The Bose speakers I mentioned earlier are at least 3 or 4 years old and I swear by them. Best $100 you could spend at an electronics store. I use them with my TV, Computer, and now my Sony Turntable. My only complaints; The software to make mp3's from your records is for Windows only.. and I use a Mac. It's still possible to perform the task but if you're a Mac user the included software is only useful as a beer coaster. The turntable is pretty much all plastic.. and therefore feels somewhat fragile. Other than that, my only other complaint is the hardwired RCA output -- it works perfectly fine but the cord is extremely short.. so unless you plan on having your setup be very compact.. you'll need to grab an RCA extension cord. If you're just getting into turntables, or need to replace your old one without breaking the bank -- this offering from Sony should be on your shopping list.

There was no way this turntable would ever work. Although it was marked totally refurbished, it was missing the belt that made the turntable spin. That being said, for a cheap turntable, you are getting a cheap turntable.

Beautiful unit..easy to set up and use....sound is great...I also bought today at Best Buy the Logitech Surround Sound Speakers and am enjoying my classic rock albums from the 70's......They sound awesome....but getting back to my Sony record player, I would highly recommend - you will be very happy....THANK YOU SONY

My dad has spent days at the store for help. They finally have ruled it defective. If the replacement doesn't work I am never buying a Sony product again. You see Sony you think it's going to work.

I could not get it to you work on any of my computers so I took it back so I don’t know why they’re asking me to review it

I can't say if the product worked well or not. I was looking for a traditional carbon monoxide detector, not one that you had to download an app for. I plan on returning it.

The sound is great but once you use the USB feature to pass the music to a computer it is super scratchy, had to return it because of this

The device broke and won’t turn on. I’m dissatisfied with the quality of this piece of equipment. This has never happened before.

Bought this as a try out of LP players. It doesn’t quite excite. Can’t get sound to play out of all speaker through an AVR!
