If you have a decent sound system, this table will not do it justice and you are better off spending the extra money on something else. There is major feedback problem between the table and my powered subwoofers, and it could have something to do with the very plastic and cheap construction. Other than the deafening feedback at higher volumes, it does sound good though, so for some sytems it could perform well.

This was to replace my turntable that would no longer spin. It;s great

It has a very short RCA cable that can't be removed! Unable to hook it up to any receiver or speakers! Comes with a converting software that is unbelievably complex. The only redemption is the automatic arm that does everything on its own.

I TRIED RECORDING 6 DIFFERENT OLD LP RECORDS WITH 12 SONGS ON EACH ONE. THE UNIT RECORDED NO MORE THAN 4 TRACKS FOR 12 SONGS. WITHOUT TRACKS, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO SKIP THRU A SONG WHEN USING THE CD IN A CAR. MOST RECORDS HAVE A 2-4 SECOND DELAY BETWEEN SONGS, BUT THE UNIT SEEMS TO NEED AT LEAST 5 SECONDS TO RECOGNIZE A TRACK. YOU CAN GET THE TRACKS ONLY BY RAISING THE NEEDLE OFF THE RECORD, HOLD IT FOR 5 SECONDS, THEN HOPE IT GETS DOWN IN THE GROOVE INSTEAD OF ON ONE OF THE SONGS. THIS IS UNEXCEPTABLE TO ME.

The software included is only compatible with XP or Vista.

wanted to get back into playing vinyl so i decided to start with the sony since it got great reviews

I got this based off stellar reviews and it won't play any record without the sound being mutilated and butchered with brand new vinyls or vinyls that had been just cleaned if I could give it zero stars I would

Although installed by Geek Squad the Sony turntable never turned on. I was past the fifteen day return period so I am out the money. Needless to say I am frustrated and dismayed with the product and the return policy.

First thing I noticed was a toy-like appearance. Once all connections were made, it went downhill from there. I tried playing an LP, but the tone arm skipped across the record with no sound. I looked at the needle with a magnifier, and there wasn't one! It's going back tomorrow. The Sony name doesn't mean anything anymore.

I wanted a stereo turntable that would convert cassettes and vinyl records. This does not convert cassettes. I tried to return it but fifteen day period had passed. Saw the date 2008 and thought this is old model. Should not be sold as new. Then I found out it is not compatible with Apple. Sony said return it. Best Buy said it had no trade in value. BB knows it is junk.

The SONY Turntable does not work with WIndows 7, even though the printed manual sent with it has instructions for using Windows 7. The SONY techies will all tell you that it will not work with WIndows 7, and their manuals all tell them that. SONY's literature does not tell you that when you are deciding to buy it.

Looking forward to converting old albums to MP3. However the software that comes with the turntable does not work with MAC computers. Disappointed with SONY for not having a product that works with both Windows based and MAC computers.

Got it for a deal but its not that great as i expected.

I purchased this for my daughter's birthday, not knowing that it wouldn't be usable without a stereo receiver and speakers. I read the description carefully as I've never purchased a turntable prior, and was impressed with the fact that she could convert vinyl to MP3, but there was no mention of the fact that it wouldn't work without the accessories. When she discovered it wouldn't work for her, I ordered a different item (an all-in-one model) and tried to return the Sony. Best Buy wouldn't take it back...past the 15 day return period. I'm furious about this and will NEVER do business with this company again. Now I have to try to sell this on eBay and most likely will end up taking a loss. Very dissatisfied customer!

the sony record player is great for the price. the soft wear that came with it will not work with windows 7. started to but stoped.

This is an aweful turntable. The motor runs so loud that it is often all you can hear. I exchanged the first one and will be returning the second one that has the same problem. If you listen at a low volume its ok but don't plan on cranking your records up on this unless you want to hear the rattling motor.

I contacted the company that wrote the CD program. They would only provide tech support if I provided a $30.00 upfront payment. The product was returned.
