The sound of this MP3 player is terrific. I added a 128GB card, dragged files from my computer and older Sony MP3 to the NW-A45 effortlessly. Did not use the Music Center or Media Go applications. The files were loaded directly onto the 128GB card in alphabetical order. The user interface is intuitive. The best part of the unit is the sound reproduction. When paired with a set of wireless Bose headphones the sound quality is really good.

Bought this for my deployment in 2020 to use during my workouts. It was small enough to put in the pouch on my shorts and the ability to lock the screen works wonders so you don't accidentally change songs. The only issue is that it doesnt use the same cord like a cellphone so you can reduce the amount of vords you have to carry. You can also use the bulit in memory which is enough or a SD memory card.

I was seriously considering returning this MP3 player, but the Music Center app was a game changer! For some reason WMP didn't always recognize the player, even after I downloaded and installed the updated drivers. Not only that, when I downloaded some albums to the player the first song on several albums were coming up as unknown artist and song. The Music Center app changed all of that, and the player's interface looks so much better and more vibrant with album art displayed for every track. You can even download covers from Google for albums that you can't locate info on, trust me when I say that this app is absolutely mandatory if you purchase this MP3 player, which on it's own is still excellent. It links up quickly and easily to my Sony Wireless speaker, now I'm looking for the perfect pair of Sony Wireless headphones to complete the package.

This was a replacement for my old Walkman NWZ-E383 that I finally decided to replace. I now have BT abilities. It's great. Sound quality is great, storage space is ample. I only wish you could stream radio while on BT headphones but I guess the technology isn't there yet. Liked it so much got one for my husband too.

I am an 80's baby. I chose this out of a stack of mp3 players and I am beyond happy with it, it has the classic fit in your hand with all the buttons on one side!! Easy to use, I carry mine in a hard drive case with the power cord. The Bluetooth is fantastic and wish I had bought it sooner.

It has good sound and with an optional micro-SD card, it can hold a lot of music. The unit cannot provide enough power with some inefficient headphones. TGH, i do not care for large touchscreens because it scratches easily and can be too sensitive to the touch. Battery life is decent but falls precipitously if enable Bluetooth.

I bought this because my iPod classic died. Needing a large storage MP3 player solution I turned to Sony. So far I am enjoying it immensely. The only drawbacks I have found is Sony’s media software used for loading isn’t intuitive, and the proprietary charger is a concern especially if it would go bad. Replacements don’t seem plentiful.

    Walkman quality and simplicity continues...

This Walkman does the one thing that it supposed to do very well – it plays music and recognizes all of the common formats. When I was researching this product before I bought it, I went to the Sony website and download the manual. It turned out to be about a 150 page PDF document, so before I even started reading it, I thought this is going to be one complicated machine, way more than I need. I have owned Walkman devices in the past, including tape players (the original), cd disc players, and several minidisc players, (my favorites.). Iwas getting tired of my present player, a high-end fiio from China running on the Android system. It wasn’t bad once you learned how to use it, but it would never operate well with Bluetooth headphones, four different pair for me. It would constantly cutout during play, which is unacceptable. I decided that anything more complicated than drag-and-drop simplicity was unnecessarily over-worked. A full Android installation just to play music? What was I thinking, $400 for that?! Nope. Enter good ol’ Walkman, Regardless of the lengthy manual, it’s as simple and straightforward as always and if you don’t want to use the Sony music program to load music, ( which is very easy and nothing like Apple’s Itunes horror show) drag-and-drop works just fine. And it sounds great.

I bought this because I prefer over the air radio to satellite and streaming audio services. Wanted high quality portable radio I could plug my headphones in or a portable speaker. Great sound crisp and clean. Well built and feels solid. Holds charge well. Would purchase again

Bluetooth connection very good. Excellent battery life. These were the two issues I was having problems with on previous player. Sound quality very good. Was hoping to wait for the a55 but still can not find. Very happy with a45.

Love it. Plays AIFF, FLAC, MQA music files. I pair mine with either a set of Grado or Beoplay wired headphones and the music sounds great. Battery is pretty good too, I mean, I'm not away from a charger long enough to fear running out of battery.

The Sony MP3 has fine sound quality but it takes practice to use the features. The on-line manual can be confusing. It took me several trips to the manual to get the Bluetooth up and running. The Music web site is mastered by trial and error. The web site is required to use bookmarks and sets. It does work well once it is mastered but better printed instructions would improve the product.

I am an Apple guy, but I chose the Sony Walkman soley on the expandable memory that the iPods don't have. It works great and is very easy to use. Plus I like the iconic name since I am kind of old school and had Walkmans in the 80's and Discman's in the 90's.

I am very pleased with my Walkman. (I also have an Astell & Kern AK Jr and much prefer my Sony). Good quality sound; a fairly easy, intuitive interface; and relatively simple to transfer files from iTunes. My only criticism is the proprietary USB cable.

No equalizer adjustments when using Bluetooth

I love the player so far. No problems loading my music & great sound (only when wired from the 3.5 mm output, such as wired earbuds or wired headphones). I would have given it 5 stars if I could make equalizer adjustments while using my Bluetooth headphones (which was my primary reason for getting this as I wanted wireless operation during flights). Doesn't matter what EQ setting you put it on before connecting to Bluetooth. As soon as it's connected Bluetooth (or USB, for that matter), the sound goes back to boring, flat tone. When connected to my vehicle radio USB with the supplied proprietary Sony cable, I CAN advance songs & backtrack songs using the vehicle's radio buttons & it stays charged, but no equalizer adjustments from the Walkman. It's designed that way per the manual. I just loaded my music to my phone & I'll use that on flights since EQ adjustments are available on Bluetooth on that. I'm keeping this Walkman as I like it when wired.

While you have to buy an SD card to really hold all your song, and the menus are only partly intuitive, once you get it set up it really sounds good and is fairly easy to operate. Not a great value though.

So far a very solid player. Sounds better than previous MP3 players. Robust buttons and touchscreen. Only complaint is it takes a long time to boot when you turn it on.
