Noise cancelling good, sound quality fair
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to love these earbuds and to some extent, I do. Owning a pair of Bose Quietcomfort headphones, it's hard to beat the quality that you get from the Bose product. The overall sound quality with these Sony earbuds is acceptable, but nothing astounding like the Bose unit. I do love the storage case that also charges the earbuds. It's very sleek and fits nicely into a pocket. I will probably keep these in my laptop bag so that I don't have to tout around my much larger Bose headphones when I'm on the go.

Good for music and podcasts, unacceptable for vids
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used these buds with my samsung galaxy S7 edge, my macbook pro (2012) , and my PC (had to buy a usb bluetooth dongle) I was excited to try these as my first ever bluetooth buds, but ended up taking them back after a few days. Focusing on Audio alone, (music, podcasts) they are pretty good. At first the connection was awful, the right bud would CONSTANTLY be dropping and re-connecting. The only thing that helped somewhat was selecting the "prioritize stable connection" option. After a day of this the connection was somewhat better when paired with my S7 edge. However, I had an AWFUL time maintaining stable connection when paired to my PC (bluetooth dongle) as well as with my macbook pro. Connection of both the right and left buds would drop out every other second, even when they were less than a foot away from the bluetooth antenna, with no obstructions. This is unacceptable for earbuds this expensive. However the biggest sticking point I had with these is the audio delay when watching videos, where the audio lags a second or two behind. As someone who deals with video on a consistent basis, this was a dealbreaker. Understandably, bluetooth (and even wired) these days will generally always have some audiolag, but it is VERY noticeable when watching videos/movies. It is very unlikely that a software patch will solve this issue. It also seemed like the battery life was slightly less than advertised. If you are looking for a decent pair of bluetooth buds for primarily music, audiobooks, podcasts etc, these are a decent option. The sound quality is fantastic, they're comfy, and they don't stick out like Shrek ears. All things considered, the sound quality and functions they packed into these sleek buds is pretty impressive. However I warn you, maintaining stable connections might make it more trouble than it is worth. 3/5 stars because of the awful connection, and the audiolag.

nice design and sound - noise cancelling so so
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using the Sony 1000X Wireless Noise-Canceling Headphones for a few days now. They are earbud type wireless headphones that connect via Bluetooth and have no wires. I held out some promise for these earbuds, they are sleek and much smaller and compact than their similar other brands. A small compact charging case is handy and acts as a storage station for when they are not in use. They are batteries are rated for 3 hours of use per charge, but I routinely got near 4 to 5 hours. These compact earbuds have provide pretty decent sound quality that can be adjusted through the use of a installable free mobile app from Sony, that ives you much flexibility in regards to tuning the sound for your preference. You can also turn on the active noise canceling or change to two other sound processing modes, that allow more ambient noise to pass through the earbuds. I find this useful for carrying on conversations with people in your listening space while making using them for a phone call. I have not seen these functions in other units, very cool. Now the bad news, the noise cancelling is not that effective, I used them in the last week on a 3 hour flight and they did not provide the level of noise cancelling I would expect. The wired $40 a pair active noise cancelling earbuds I have been using for the last two years do a substantially better job. Unfortunate as I often use this function when traveling or mowing the lawn. Pros: - Quality sound - Handy free mobile app - Compact, low profile, totally wireless - Handy, small charging/carrying case - Graphic equalizer within the mobile app - Ambient sound pass-through modes Cons: - Active noise cancelling is not effective

Solid Headphones
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm quite picky when it comes to sound, I dont know if i'm audiophile level, but I certainly own many pairs of high quality headphones. I needed something small and unobtrusive as my manager did not like me walking around with big over the ear headphones and also wanted something nice for the Gym. The battery is why I cant give these 5 stars, they drain fast and so I'm having to reach for the charging case often, though this isnt too bad, if I stay consistent with charging while on breaks, meetings etc. The sound quality as long as you dont use their garbage EQ is impressive, and certainly better than my wifes Air Pods, though will say the pods look better in my book sound quality over look. I would recommend if you are looking for a good sounding comfortable truly wireless headset, as long as you have breaks to give it a charge. Certainly the best sounding True wireless I have used. I have tried a few.

Good But With A Few Problems
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I do like these headphones but they definitely aren't perfect. They have noise cancelling and that feature works well. The app is nice but it doesn't have a lot of features. Essentially, you can have adaptive sound control on or off and can have ambient sound control on or off. It does also show my battery status for the headphones but it doesn't show the precise percentage of the battery left. The sound is good and it comes with different sizes so the headphones fit your ears appropriately. My major issue with the headphones is how difficult they were to charge the first time. Part of this is because there is no way to tell if the charging case is charged. And you cannot charge the charging case and the headphones at the same time. They also take longer to charge than most headphones like them. There also doesn't seem to be a light or anything on the outside of the charging case to let you know when the headphones are charged. You also have to make sure you click the headphones in place very tightly in the charging case or they won't charge. As soon as you open the charging case the headphones connect to your phone. Connecting isn't a problem but I can have the phone right next to me and the bluetooth will stop working because my hair is touching the headphones. They are still good headphones but they can just be a little picky. I do recommend them but be aware that there are some issues. And for this type of headphones these are the best that I have found so far.

Great noise cancelling wireless earbuds!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sony WF-1000X Noise Canceling Earphones come attractively and protectively packaged. The big plus for these are really great noise cancelation, a first I believe for true cordless earbud style earphones. They look nice (I like their style) when worn compared to many other earbuds that look out of place on the human head. They weigh almost nothing and due to a myriad of configurations are able to be fitted comfortably to almost any ear. The battery case which provides enough juice, for the earbuds to get about nine hours of use, is rugged enough to carry in your pocket. A full charge of the case through the USB-C port requires about 1.5 hours. I would like more than three hours per charge for the earbuds though. Sound quality is great - I like the nice heavy bass and crisp highs. They are not waterproof. The case can be carried in my pocket easily and, in addition to recharging, protects the earbuds from damage. They work in conjunction with the Sony connect app on iOS or Android devices. They are currently available in black or gold finish.

Good sound...but connection issues.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off save time and buy the Jabra Elite Sport earbuds....ZERO connections issues. With that said review of Sony's earbuds below. Have been wanting completely wireless earbuds since I first saw them but wanted to wait until big name companies started to come out with their versions first. I started with the Sony's. First off they fit great in my ear and the noise cancelling was nice. Good sound but felt the volume was limited but it turned out that MAY have been due to Spotify app limiting volume (but then again headphones I ended up with let me crank the volume). I was happy with the sound although I felt I couldn't set them as loud as I wanted. They use an app to control volume I didn't like that. My issues. In my house they worked pretty well no connection issues. Once I got to the gym....horrible, horrible, horrible. I can't stress enough how bad it was. Connection was trash. The way these work is there is a master earbud and a slave. The one that is directly connected to the phone NEVER lost connection. But the one that was considered the "slave" earbud constantly lost connection resulting in only hearing music in 1 ear. Highly annoying. The Sony headphone app stated the earbuds had an update available that addressed connections issues but I could NOT get them to update after numerous attempts. Deleted app and reinstalled (Samsung S8+). Talked to Sony support, read all the forums (seems to be a common problem), etc.....just could not get them updated at all. They would start the update and just sit there. I even let them sit overnight still never took the update. I decided to jump ship. Returned them for the Bose....those are joke also with connections issues (check my review on those if you like). After trying two audio powerhouse companies (Sony and Bose) I was about to give up thinking the technology just wasn't ready yet for 100% wireless earbuds.,,,,BUT...ended up with Jabra Elite Sport earbuds------connections is 100% solid. Save time get the Jabra's.

Fantastic sound with extras!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love these. They sound excellent, as good as anything I've heard before. Im no audiophile but these have such a great sound, it makes listening to my music even more of a pleasure. One of my favorite features of this head set is the ability to cup your hand over one of the ear pieces when someone is talking to you, this then stops the noise cancellation, pauses the music and then also amplifies the person speaking to you. Its so good. They are easy to set up and comfortable to wear with no real fatigue after listening for some time. I love these and would recommend to anyone i knew

Good Earbuds
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These earbuds have good sound quality compared to earbuds I've used in the past. They are comfortable to wear, and do not fall out of my ear. They are easy to put into it's charging cradle, and easy to take out. I was able to pair them with my Android and iOS device. It also has NFC pairing, which I used on my Android device. They allow you to use Siri and Google voice commands. It works as advertise. My only issue was that the sound only comes out of the left earbud when using this feature. The Noise Canceling feature works, but I was still able to hear background noises. It just dampens it some. Overall, I recommend these earbuds for anyone looking for an overall good earbud.
