Awesome In Ear Noise Cancelling
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony demonstrates with these headphones that they are a player in the noise cancelling game. I would go so far as to say that the kit integrated into these headphones puts Sony head to head with Bose. This form factor of headphones take a little bit of getting used to... or you're someone who hates having your ears covered and you know you like the in ear form factor already. I have mixed feelings about how heavy these kinds of headphones get to attempt to give them some battery life, integrate controls, etc. These fit well, and didn't feel like they were going to fall out, in spite of the obvious weight and mass in these headphones. Noise cancelling is amazing. I've used headphones from B&O, Bose, and others with noise cancelling and these were among the best I've used. The amount that these protrude can cause a little wind noise when outside, or can let small amounts of ambient noise leak around the headphones. Noise cancelling is effective and absolute, with the amount of noise around you actually coming as surprising when the cancelling is turned off. Charging is completed with a handy charge and carry case that has it's own built in battery. Battery life never quite got to the full three hours reported, but was pretty consistently at/over 2.5 hours in use. Pairing via bluetooth was easy and painless with no need to consult the manual. Sound is created by a small driver, due to the small nature of these headphones. The drivers have a wide range of response and do a good job of reproducing both highs and lows. They can't quite reproduce the same range as a big pair of ear cans, but that limited range is a trade off for the size. Overall I liked the these headphones, felt that they were a good value for the price point, blowing their next closest Bose competitor out of the water by adding noise cancelling. In ear fit is an acquired taste, but accommodate lots of activities.

These things are great
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am enjoying these so far. They might not be the best headphones on the market but they seem to be a good balance of what's available on the market from competitors but does not stay too far on the amazing side or poor side of things. Starting with the unboxing, the packaging walks a line between premium and cheap. The materials overall feel cheap (cardboard and plastic) but the design is great with nice perks like darkened plastic and foam to nicely organize the components. You will find the headphones, the case, S M and L rubber earpieces, S M and L foam earpieces and a larger set of ear anchors for the device. There is the usual warranty documentation, instructions and a USB cable, no charger though. I had some hiccups during the first use as it seemed the case was charging but the ear buds were not doing so. I later figured out that you have to push the ear buds with a little force to make sure they make contact with the connectors, after this they glowed a nice red until charged. The case appears to not have to be closed to charge so you can leave it open if you want to see the indicators. The case is a little bulky but it holds extra battery that will recharge the device a few times. As for the ear buds, it took a minute to figure out the proper fit. Most ear anchors are placed in the upper ear but the ones on this device hang on to the lower ear which feels a little strange if you are not used to it. The rubber tips are comfortable once you find the right size. Ensure you get a good fit since you will lose a lot of the base in the headphones if they do not fit properly. As for the fit they seem to stick out of your ear a lot when wearing them so they look a little goofy on me but that might just be me. The devices look a little large in general and they do not feel like they will stay in my ear but after prolonged testing I found that I have had no issues with loosing a seal or having them fall out. They sound great. I recommend you download the associated Sony app “Headphones Connect” since it will add some cool features such as adaptive sound control which will change the EQ and noise canceling based on your environment around you. There is a lot of clean bass, lots of crisp accents in the notes, clean sound (no static), great highs. I am no audiophile but it sounds amazing to me like a decent set of cans. I was using a iPhone 8 at a test using the AAC codec and I can say this headphone does a great job with Bluetooth audio. Gym use was superb. I was slightly worried they might fall out when working out but they never once came out of my ear. The only time they didn't feel snug was when I was doing push ups or was in an incline type position since the anchor was less not as able to grab my ear when not in a normal vertical position. I ran across one issue with prolonged use, it seems the right headphone occasionally missed a few notes and seems to reconnect to the left ear bud every 3-4 songs. It was minor enough to not interrupt my experience but it is noticeable if you are looking for it. Battery life is pretty much as advertised, you can expect about three hours of use and they recharge in about an hour or so when you put them back in the case. Pairing the devices on iOS is done with the usual holding a button for a few seconds to get it in pairing mode. Android pairing can be done with NFC to make things a little easier. I was very impressed with the range. I have yet to find the max range but I have walked more than 30 feet and had no degradation in quality. I have a lot of good things to say about these but here really the reasons I am not giving it a perfect score. First, there is no sensor to see if it is in your ear or not in the ear. It will keep playing music if you take it out. If you put it back in the case it seems to stop though. Charging is via micro USB. I would have preferred lightning or USB C. They are somewhat bulky including the case and have a weird light that people can see that blinks every so often that you don't see much on headphones these days. You might like or dislike that but I find it draws attention. There is only a power button on the left earphone and the right one has a single control button which can pause, skip or go back on 1, 2 or 3 presses. I have not discovered any volume button which is every annoying since you must rely on your device for that. So as I said there are great factors to this device, there are also some forgotten or half baked parts of this. If you want a simple device with great sound quality that has noise canceling and pretty good battery life, these are great. If you want all the bells and whistles in a small or discreet package I would avoid. Over I like them as they work great and are reliable.

Perfect Lightweight Fit, Great Sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like these earbuds a lot. The charging/carrying case was nice, they fit right in and left and right buds are clearly labeled. Once they were charged I had to read the instructions to set them up and that was easy. Both earbuds fit comfortably and the sound was real good. The ambient sound and noise reduction features are pretty good. One thing I should note is that there are no volume controls, therefore I had to adjust the volume on my mobile device. The only reason I didn't give this product 5 stars was because of the battery life. On a full charge they lasted me 2 hours and 45 minutes. I can't use these during a full 8 hour workday without recharging.

Sony's answer to the Apple Airpods but better
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There is a lot to like about these Bluetooth/NFC enabled earbuds. First and foremost they are individual noise-canceling buds with no wires at all. In the package are several different rubber ear pieces to customize the fit of the buds to your ears. The charging base also doubles as a convenient carrier. Also included is a micro USB cable to charge your earbuds but not included is any type of charger so you must plug into your own charger or USB port on a laptop or desktop. Instructions are graphic and are okay. I'd prefer to see a little more in depth explanation of the functions but there is enough there to get you going. To get the most out of these you must use the Sony Headphones Connect App for Android or Apple smartphones. The app allows you to set the ambient sound control based on your environment. You can chose from noise cancelling, ambient sound - voice mode, or ambient sound - normal mode. You can also toggle these modes by pressing the button on the bottom of the left earpiece. There is a microphone on the left earpiece and you can answer or cancel calls by pressing the button on the bottom of the right earpiece. The button on the right earpiece also serves as a play/pause and next song by a single press. Double press and you get next song, triple press is rewind/previous song. There is no volume control on the earpieces. I found the sound quality extremely good. Noise canceling works extremely well with each of the three modes. I use them in the office and I can usually hear someone when they start talking to me but the buds cancel a lot of the other ambient noises. I found the volume for these are somewhat limited. I had to push volume to MAX on the smartphone to get an exceptable volume level. Even using the app didn't provide any additional volume however it did provide simple equalizer settings. All in all they do a great job for what they are. I would have liked to see volume control on the earpiece. Occasionally the right earpiece would drop out but that may be from operator error.

Offers noise cancelling options
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony 1000X Wireless Noise-Canceling Headphones Included- 1 pair of wireless noise canceling headphones, 1 charging case, 1 micro-USB charging cord (about 20 in long), 7 pair of earbuds in varying sizes, 1 extra pair of fitting supporters, and instructions. As with most instructions these days, there are basically all pictures and no words. You first need to unpack the earbuds, place them in the charger, making sure they click in and a red light turns on and plug the charger in. Full charging time is about 3.5 hours with music playback lasting about 3 hours. On the left earbud, the power switch and noise cancelling is controlled. There are 2 noise cancelling modes. One is Smart Listening, customizable to cancel out the surrounding noises. The other is Ambient Mode, which allows you to hear important sounds when necessary. On the right earbud, the phone calls and music are controlled. Once it's charged, then you need to pair the bluetooth with your device. Holding down on the power button for 7 seconds initiates that. You can see the blue light for power. Once the headphones are connected, you're able to start listening to music. There are 2 free apps, Music Center and Headphones, that you will need to download to accompany the headphones. In the headphone app you are able control the volume, noise control, equalizer, battery level and view song details. Fit- They are comfortable. And with the different size earbuds, you should be able to find one that works. And you are able to reorder replacements if it's necessary. Sound- The sound is very clean and crisp. When I was listening to a song that I've heard hundreds of times, I noticed some things in the music that I've honestly never heard before. I was actually a little surprised. Any time you make changes to your headphone settings, there is brief pause in the music. As far as the noise cancelling, this is only my second pair of noise cancelling headphones and this is my first wireless pair. It didn't completely cancel all the noise in the noise cancelling mode. I could still hear background sounds. It's not quite as thorough as my other pair, which were over the ear though so I'm not if that's the difference or not. I was able to hear voices in the Ambient Mode. I'm happy with the overall performance. It is still nice to have the noise cancelling and the option to hear conversations if my kids need to talk to me. I like that there are options for different situations. Overall, I would recommend this pair of Sony wireless noise cancelling earbuds. I love how compact and portable they are. I think the sound is good.

Pretty good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.PROS comfartable alot of tech ambient settings work really good CONS not sweat/water resistant needs more options for the wing tips, they seemed small volume was really low, not as loud as my Jaybird runS noise cancellation was ok, Jaybirds runs seal better can only control the volume on your phone, with all the tech you think they could of fixed that. All in all they are a pretty solid set of wireless buds, i wouldnt use them for the gym, but i would if i was in a office setting or maybe traveling and did not want the bulkyness of over the ear headphones.
