The communication between the devices will be poor if there is an obstruction between the unit and the connected device. As a suggestion, you may try setting the Sound quality mode (Bluetooth connection) to Priority on stable connection (via Sony Headphones Connect app) and see if it resolves the problem. Also, check that the headphones are running on the latest firmware version. The software includes key features, applications, bug fixes, and feature improvements.

Software is ok but it automatically reverts to noise cancelling, annoying when to have go into the app to adjust everytime I want to listen at work and still hear what's going on.

These are my first pair of bluetooth headphones and I LOVE them. Very good bass and crisp treble...I just wish they played back a little louder maybe 25% louder but other then that no complaints at all. 5 stars for me.

I have the Bose, it is wired but incredible. I tried the new apple airpods, but they are not noise canceling. Sony’s were better than apple but a little bulky and I really dislike the voice notifications that tell when you are connected and when you are not. I returned them.

Beware iOS users...

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This issue has been reported on the Sony subreddit with users who own the iPhone XS, XS Max, iPhone XR, and iPhone 8/8+. During music streaming, the quality will drop for a few seconds until it goes back to normal. It's extremely apparent and happens a couple of times during a song. I've changed multiple settings on the Sony app, but nothing fixes it. Upon research, it seems like the bluetooth encoding that happens on the software/hardware side of these earphones is much more stable on Android phones than on newer iPhones (go on the Sony subreddit to learn more about AAC vs SBC encoding). Sony is expected to drop a software update for this product in the next 2 weeks, but there has been no response from Sony as of yet regarding this issue. If this software update doesn't fix it, I'm going to have to look at other options that provide stable connections on iOS. If you're an Android user, these are amazing earphones.
