Thank you for purchasing the WF-1000XM3 True Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones. While we're glad you like most of the features, we regret to hear that the unit had to be returned. We value your input regarding the fit and appreciate the feedback.
For fit concern, the WF-1000XM3 features an Ergonomic Tri-hold structure design for a snugly and comfortably fitting. A high-friction rubber surface keeps the noise canceling earbuds snug and secure in your ear so they won’t slip out unexpectedly. This does also come with an assortment of earbuds in various sizes to ensure there is a great fit for all ear sizes. To ensure optimal performance, as well as to obtain the best fit and prevent the headset from falling out, when wearing them, we recommend to gently pull on the top of your ear as you twist the earbud into your ear. This should give you a firmer hold.
We hope you will consider Sony again in a future purchase.

I am still getting used to the way they work. They are not intuitive and the directions to get started are not real clear.

Note the some settings are done through the phone app, not directly on the earbuds. Also, these do come with 6 sets of alternative ear tips, small medium and large, 3 foam and 3 silicone. I strongly suggest that you try all 6 and then choose what works best. I tried them all, and ONLY the large silicone worked. All 5 of the others did not seal well and I got very poor bass sound. Almost thought the buds were crap until I found the right set, and then it was all music...

The WF-1000XM3 comes with different sizes of earbuds to ensure there is a great fit for all ear sizes and an optimal noise canceling experience. As a suggestion, to reduce discomfort while wearing the headphones, please use the right size according to the size of your ears. When wearing them, please gently pull on the top of your ear as you twist the earbud into your ear. We regret to know that the unit had to be returned.
