Terrible call quality and customer service

The app and touch controls are iffy. Overall, if the product had even usable/mediocre call quality I would recommend it. The call quality is absolutely unusable. You sound really quiet and far away. It cannot be used for phone calls. I contacted customer service three times and they ran me around in circles and it felt like they just wanted to get rid of you. They told me first to do a factory reset, but then wouldn't tell me how. They then told me I need to update to the latest version (I already was) and told me to go YouTube it and Google how to update to firmware 1.1.1 (I don't know if that actually exists, but that wasn't the most recent version). They then told me Sony was aware of the problem and they're working on a firmware. What makes me worried is I think the problem is fundamentally the hardware and can't be fixed. The device only seems to have one microphone on the side (look at the small hole in the picture) that's used for noise cancelling. I don't think that's positioned correctly for calls, or I think using the same mic for noise cancelling would screw it up (I tried calls with ANC off and it didn't fix it).

Hard of hearing

The buds + was having charging issues where the left bud only charged to max 80%. I went to trade my headphones in and decided to pay more for these buds. Now I hear these have great sound but being hard of hearing I'm tone def so these were nothing special. The ambient pass through is terrible on these headphones I personally want to trade them back for some buds plus.
