The sound quality is great and the noise canceling is superb. However for phone calls it is useless. The background noise is horrible and people on the other side of the call can't hear you with the background noise.

Sony provides different sizes of earbuds to obtain the best fit and prevent the headsets from falling out. You may select the earbuds that fit your ears the best and wear the headset correctly. If you are looking for noise cancelling earbuds as the description of these state then go with Bose. There is no comparison. The noise cancelling on the sony earbuds was similar to non noise cancelling earbuds. They did work well other than that though, but I wanted noise cancelling so only 3 stars.

For the noise-canceling issue, we provide an assortment of earbuds in various sizes to ensure there is a great fit for all ear sizes and an optimal noise-canceling experience. If you feel that the noise cancelling effect is not sufficient, change to the earbud that allows you to hear the least ambient sounds for both the left and right unit and adjust the headset position to fit your ears.
To ensure optimal performance with noise cancelling, refer to the guidelines below.
- Make sure that the noise canceling function is turned on.
- The noise canceling function is effective in low frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices.

Huge Disappointment.

They became defective after 13 months, fortunately i had the 2 year protection plan. Unfortunately, they where no longer in stock. Instead i got these. Honestly, total disappointment. Whilst the audio is good, the battery life is terrible (compared to Bose). From a comfort perspective, horrible compared to Bose. He’s the kicker. they drop out every 5-10 seconds for a milli second with my iPhone less than a foot away. I’m returning these this week. There functionality, is weak. They have lots of sparkles that seem to be cool, but in reality are just gimmicks that don’t enhance the notion of noise canceling, wireless ear buds. Bose, is so superior.

You have the ability to set the priority of these headphones to either sound quality or stable connection. Stable connection can improve the usable distance of the WF-1000XM3s. If you are listening to music with your smartphone, the situation may be improved by shutting down unnecessary apps or restarting your smartphone.

All my electronic stuff is Apple, but I have not found an in-ear headphone that will stay in my ears which is why I tried these. These Sony WF-1000XM3 headphones sounded okay. Just okay. The main reason I returned them is because of how the Noise Cancelling feature kept doing very strange things. The feature turned itself on/off without any input from me. Very annoying. I may not have had them set correctly, but I could not find a way to use them without the annoying switching on and off the noise canceling. I really don't think it was doing this because it couldn't play nice with my Apple stuff.
