Also got tired of looking weird wearing my huge over-the-ear Bose headphones. Don't get the looks I did with them, but I'd rate the noise-cancelling only average, and probably not worth the extra money.

They frequently disconnect randomly and I have never been able to pair them while in an active call. Dont buy these if you are going to us them with an iPhone.

I have been using them for a little over half a year now and they have worked flawlessly. The earbuds come with both normal ear tips and foam tips. The foam tips are honestly The best i have ever used.

The primary drawback is that the your speaking quality on calls fluctuates from good to not understandable. The most common feedback I get from people is that my voice sounds like a muffled robot. Research tells me that this is not an isolated phenomena, that others experience the same speaking quality issues on phone calls. Thus far there has not been a workable answer from Best Buy, Sony, or the online forums.

They constantly loose signal and they keep popping out of my ears. At first they were okay but I work around big noisey machines and these only filter out a quater of the noise.

Please allow us to help you and turn this into a better experience. We provide an assortment of earbuds in various sizes to ensure there is a great fit for all ear sizes and an optimal noise-canceling experience. If you feel that the noise cancelling effect is not sufficient, change to the earbud that allows you to hear the least ambient sounds for both the left and right unit and adjust the headset position to fit your ears.
The communication between the devices will be poor if there is an obstruction between the unit and the connected device. Try the following:
• For Bluetooth connection issue: The WF-1000XM3 has a new Bluetooth chip and an optimized antenna design to provide a stable connection for hours of wireless streaming. To ensure you get the best Bluetooth connection, please set the headphones Bluetooth Connection Mode to “Priority on stable connection”.

They are really bulky in comparison and don’t sound any better than the air pods. I like the looks of them better but the quality isn’t as great as expected. I ended up returning them.

The WF-1000XM3 comes with different sizes of earbuds to ensure there is a great fit for all ear sizes and an optimal noise canceling experience. As a suggestion, to reduce discomfort while wearing the headphones, we recommend to try to use the right size according to the size of your ears. When wearing them, please gently pull on the top of your ear as you twist the earbud into your ear. This should give you a firmer hold and better noise canceling experience.

Also, you have to sign up for Trident music or something like that in order to get the quality sound out of them... A bit frustrating after paying the price I did.

The updates include key features, applications, bug fixes, and feature improvements. Reset the headset to isolate the issue further. Place the headset in the charging case, leave the lid of the charging case open, then hold your finger to the touch sensor on the left unit for about 20 seconds. Release your finger when the indicator (red) of the headset turns off after flashing. Then hold your finger to the touch sensor on the right unit for about 20 seconds. Release your finger when the indicator (red) of the headset turns off after flashing. When there is a problem with the headset, the indicator (red) of the headset remains off and does not start flashing even if you perform the procedures described above. In this case, hold your finger to the touch sensor longer (for about 30 seconds), and release your finger when the indicator (red) of the headset turns on.

Best noise cancelling in ear headset so far

In the box are the earbuds, a charging case, a USB-C to USB charging adaptor and multi size / style tips (7 options included). The earbuds come partially charged, so you can use directly out of the box. For pairing you press both earbuds until you hear the indicator, pairing was seamless with my Andriod phone and all functionality for audio playback and call control was as expected. To make the most of your headset, you need to install the Sony Headphones Connect app. This app provides quick registration, battery life of each earbud, ambient sound control (noise cancelling preferences), equalizer adjustments, and other functionality options to customize your experience. The music experience is impressive, I found the tap controls to be intuitive and worked an amazing 100% of the time as expected. Default setup is left ear controls ambient noise setting, noise cancelling functionality, and offers a feature called "quick attention mode" that will reduce music volume and allow for ambient noise so you can carry on a conversation. The right ear controls song play / pause / skip. I have worn these in a vehicle with 5 other people (including small children) and found that these headphones offer a true noise cancelling experience, making a 3 hour drive as enjoyable as possible. You can turn on the noise cancelling option without having music playing, which I find useful to get rest while flying. The audio itself has the best quality, depth, and range for any earbud I have tried so far in any price range. The call experience is on par with expectations, as the noise cancelling is superb, the call clarity for both speaker and microphone are stellar. One unique feature of these earbuds are that they seamlessly integrate with Google assistant. This provides me the ability to place calls, look up drive times, etc where I haven't had this level of support functionality with other earbuds. Pros: Great battery life as supported by the charging travel case Stellar noise cancelling Crisp audio range and depth providing premium sound quality Accurate touch control functionality Google assistant integration Cons: Still struggling to find the correct fit, even though noise cancelling works well, I found that when I drove over railroad tracks occasionally my left earbud would dislodge. The "quick attention mode" is nice, but you have to hold the button the entire time, so I question why not just remove the earbud. Overall, this is a solid 5 stars, as I think the cons were minimal in the overall functionality of the earbuds. The quality of the earbud materials and operation are presently some of the best on the market. I am still working through a few of the minor quirks mentioned above and I will update after I've had more time with these earbuds.

While we're happy that you like the incredible sound quality, we regret to know you've been running into some issues with the headphones battery life is short, app functions, and insufficient low frequency sound. For available operating time of the unit, the usage hours may be different depending on the settings and conditions of use. Also, when the Equalizer function is used, the playback time will be shorter by about 45% at most.
If you enable the following functions, the operating time will be shorter.
• Equalizer
• DSEE Extreme, DSEE HX, DSEE
• Note: If you activate the Equalizer and DSEE Extreme (or DSEE HX, DSEE) at the same time, the operating time will be shorter than if you enable only one of the functions.
• Speak-to-Chat
• Priority on sound mode while using Bluetooth
• Voice assistant
• Automatic wind noise reduction

Perhaps my expectations were too high
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have the WH1000XM3 (over the ear version, which I love) and I was looking to get these in-ear version for those times when is too hot to wear the headphones. Perhaps my expectations were too high as I was quite disappointed with the noise cancelling performance. Once I had them on, it felt like I had my head inside of an empty fishbowl tank where I could hear my own breathing. I was confused as to what was so special about these headphones that justified such high price. There was absolutely nothing thrilling about them, which I ended up returning the next day. The touch controls were clunky to say the least, being myself an engineer, I was quite surprised that they couldn't figure out a better way to implement them. My conclusion: Save the extra cash and purchase a good pair or skull candy earphones instead.
