Thank you for purchasing the WF-1000XM3 True Wireless Noise-Canceling Headphones.

While we're glad you like the sound quality and noise canceling, we regret to hear that you're hearing unwanted noise on your headphones. The communication between the devices will be poor if there is an obstruction between the unit and the connected device. Try the following:

• For sound issue: The WF-1000XM3 has a new Bluetooth chip and an optimized antenna design to provide a stable connection for hours of wireless streaming. To ensure you get the best Bluetooth connection, please set the headphones Bluetooth Connection Mode to “Priority on stable connection”

-Change the position or location of the unit or connected device.
-If the connected device has a cover on it, take it off to improve the communication distance.
-If the connected device is in a bag or in a pocket, try moving the position of the device.
-Place the devices closer together to improve signal transmission

Initializing the headset may help resolve the issue:

If the headset does not operate correctly even after resetting, initialize the headset to restore factory settings.

• Initializing the headset to restore factory settings
- Place the headset in the charging case, leave the lid of the charging case open, then hold your fingers to the touch sensors on both the left and right units for about 10 seconds. Release your fingers when the indicators (red) of the headset start flashing.
- The indicators (blue) flash 4 times, and the headset is initialized. This operation resets the headset to the factory settings and deletes all pairing information. In this case, delete the pairing information for the headset from the device and then pair them again.

The WF-1000XM3 comes with different sizes of earbuds to ensure there is a great fit for all ear sizes and an optimal noise canceling experience.

If you feel that the noise cancelling effect is not sufficient, change to the earbud that allows you to hear the least ambient sounds for both the left and right unit and adjust the headset position to fit your ears. To ensure optimal performance with noise cancelling, refer to the guidelines below.

- Make sure that the noise canceling function is turned on.
- The noise canceling function is effective in low frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices.

This is definitely not the experience we wanted you to have in our product. If you haven't yet, please try following the steps below and see if it resolves the problem.

• Try different audio devices to test.
• Bring the headset closer to the Bluetooth device. Remove any obstacles between the headset and the Bluetooth device.
If the problem happened on different devices, please refer to the steps the below:

• For sound quality, we want to make sure you are getting the most out of your headphones. Please make sure you have downloaded the Sony Headphones Connect app. There you will find all sorts of tools to fine-tune your WF-1000XM3 and maximize the volume to your liking. There is even an EQ for bass and treble sound. You may also find different devices will perform better than others, as will different apps due to different types of audio compression and transmission.
• If the issue still occurs, please make sure that your headphones are running on the latest firmware version. The software includes key features, applications, bug fixes, and feature improvements. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience using your Sony WF-1000XM3. We're sorry about the issues with your unit. We value your input and appreciate your feedback. If your WF-1000XM3 Bluetooth Headphones turn off unexpectedly after few minutes of use, one of the possible resolutions to the issue is by updating the firmware of the headphones (via the Sony Headphones Connect app) for optimum performance. Make sure the batteries are fully charged. Resetting and initializing the headphones to the factory settings may also help resolve the issue.

The WF-1000XM3 comes with different sizes of earbuds to ensure there is a great fit for all ear sizes and an optimal noise canceling experience. We recommend to use the right size according to the size of your ears. When wearing them, please gently pull on the top of your ear as you twist the earbud into your ear. This should give you a firmer hold and better noise canceling experience.

We regret to hear that the headphones had to be returned.
