First pair had a broken left earbud out of box

I traded it in for a new pair which seems to be working fine, but sometimes there is weird thing during calls where the audio fades in and out a little.

Sony takes into consideration all feedback to improve the performance and quality of our products and services. The communication between the devices will be poor if there is an obstruction between the unit and the connected device. Try the following:
• To ensure you get the best Bluetooth connection, please set the headphones Bluetooth Connection Mode to “Priority on stable connection”
-Change the position or location of the unit or connected device.
-If the connected device has a cover on it, take it off to improve the communication distance.
-If the connected device is in a bag or in a pocket, try moving the position of the device.
-Place the devices closer together to improve signal transmission
• If the issue still occurs, please make sure that your headphones are running on the latest firmware version. The software includes key features, applications, bug fixes, and feature improvements.

Excellent sound

Nothing will get rid of 70+ dB noise though. Easy to use. Multiple configurations for the left and right ear touch pads. Best for the price.

The WF-1000XM3 comes with different sizes of earbuds to ensure there is a great fit for all ear sizes and an optimal noise canceling experience. As a suggestion, to reduce discomfort while wearing the headphones, try to use the right size according to the size of your ears. When wearing them, please gently pull on the top of your ear as you twist the earbud into your ear. This should give you a firmer hold and better noise canceling experience. Frustrating

I won't do that again. Bose is worth the money 100% better

Rich full relaxing sound

From the box after a full charge I was able to get 6 straight hours of use before the right earbud died on me. The case is great being able to charge the earbuds without needing to be plugged into the wall. The case is small and can fit into your pocket or purse taking up very little room. Pairing to my iPhone X was quick and without any issues. I pulled the earbuds out of the charging case, put them into my ears, turned on the phone’s Bluetooth and paired right away. These little powerhouse earbuds sound fantastic! I love being able to tweak the audio to my preferred sound settings with the Sony Headphone Connect app. Using the app to change the earbud button function is a plus. The noise canceling is beyond what I was expecting. I didn’t think earbuds could come close to over the ear headphones in that area, but surprise they are amazing! The adaptive ambient sound being on being on during workouts is a plus! I can hear the music without compromising safety. The earbuds stayed in place during my workout and felt quite comfortable. I was nervous one would fall out, but never happened. The call quality was better than using just my phone. I could hear the other person very clearly and they let me know they could hear me much better than when just using the phones built in microphone. Overall I was very surprised at how much I enjoy the quality of these Sony Noise Canceling earbuds. They are comfortable and built really well!

The software update includes key features, applications, bug fixes, and improve the connection of the headphones. Sony provides different sizes of earbuds to obtain the best fit and prevent the headsets from falling off. You may select the earbuds that fit your ears the best and wear the headset correctly. I couldn’t figure out how to generate call not how to answer a call. Could be operator error. As far as noise cancelling I expected to hear no noise. Not what I expected for the price.

Good buds

I couldn’t hear what was said clearly. I did enjoy the music but I made just as many or received just as many calls as I listened to music.

Okay headphones

Not sure if they were worth the price. But they do the job for Skype/video/voice chatting.

Over priced headphones

Can't use right earbud alone

With mine I can't. 1. I can use the left one while the right one charges. 2. If I try and use the right one while the left one is in the charger it will not connect. 3. If I'm using both buds, and I put the left one in the case, the right one immediately disconnects. 4. If I take the right one out of the case by itself, it powers on and gives battery status, but will not connect. Have followed reset and initialization procedure from the sony product troubleshooting page, with no change in behavior. Without this issue I would give them a 5 star rating.

1. In the Sony Headphones Connect app, set to OFF.
2. By design: if Google Assistant is assigned to one side, only that side can be used by itself. https://helpguide.sony.net/mdr/wf1000xm3/v1/en/contents/TP0002395214.html
e.g., If Google Assistant is assigned to the left headset, the right headset can be removed and/or placed in the charger case and the left headset will continue operating by itself. If instead the left headset is placed in the charger case or removed from the ear for at least 5 minutes (i.e., unless Auto Power Off is set to OFF)—the right headset will automatically pause/stop and can not be operated by itself.)

These are said to have superior quality than the beats but I have not found this to be the case. The beats are a better buy. The ear buds are good quality but for the $$$ be very selective.
