Long story short, the AirPods are more comfortable, lighter, smaller, a lot LOUDER while being at least equal in sound quality and noise cancellation. The Sony iPhone app is pretty useless too. If you have an iPhone/iPad, the controls for the AirPods are built-in, including ambient noise control - no need to open another app just to dial up/back the noise cancellation.

Sweet ear buds

Not the Easiest but Some of the Best

They are not the easiest to use and take some time getting used to, but once you're used to them, it's hard to be without them. The noise-cancelling feature works REALLY well and they come with a variety of replacement buds that allows you to find your perfect fit. If you don't want noise cancelling, it's just as easy to turn that feature off. It is possible to use only one headphone at a time, but when they're set down, I've found that they don't really disconnect from my phone, meaning that all notifications will go through the headphones, unbeknownst to me - missing calls and texts this way. Once they're placed inside the case, they disconnect immediately and start charging. For 1 week I used the headphones probably 4-5 hours everyday, placing them in the case. After those 4-5 hours, I don't recall how much power they had left but they were able to remain charged 100% throughout the whole week with the case never requiring a re-charge. I would highly recommend these headphones to anyone looking for a travel-friendly, noise-cancelling option that doesn't hurt your ears when needed for long periods of time.

Almost perfect but close enough for 5 stars

My only real complaints are that I wish the case was a little smaller and that the headphone got a little bit louder, however aside from that they're pretty much perfect. I like them so much I got them for my girlfriend as a birthday present and she is loving them as well. Initially I was hyped for them until I heard some of the reviews about them losing connection and so I was a bit worried and then I found out that the connection issues were mostly with Apple users so I decided to pull the trigger and I do not regret it. I'm not sure the issue with Apple users has been fixed yet (if it hasn't it's probably because Apple wants you to buy airpods instead). The noise cancellation is really useful as is the Ambient sound pass through, so the Ambient sound could use a little bit of work just because sometimes I can't clearly make out what people are saying unless I take out the headphones even with Ambient sound on, however that isn't super common. 10/10 reccomend, just wish they would pair with my computer.

The issue I had with these was if you look over your shoulder they would cut out. Other than that they worked great. Noise canceling was great. Battery life was great. I could not get over the stuttering thing so i returned, however if you are buying for indoor/ desk use Absolutely buy these. For gym or moving use, I would wait for the Momentum True Wireless 2's.

You cannot connect the headphones to mobile devices at all without installing Sony’s app. Connecting to PCs is a chore, and staying connected moreso. -One ear or the other will randomly cut out for no reason, forcing me to reset both, often more than once. -Calls are not even worth trying. The worst part is that these are all apparently due to known software issues. Yet Sony has not upgraded their firmware in over a year. If this was a product they no longer sold that woukd be understandable, but for an active product, that’s just insulting. I wish I could recommend these because the hardware, especially for noise-cancelling, is very good. Instead I’m tolerating these until I can replace them.

If you having Bluetooth connectivity issues with the unit, set the headset to “Priority on stable connection” mode. Cons: They would sometimes suddenly disconnect or turn off even when I'm listening. The noise-cancelling / ambient sound modes keep auto-switch and the only way to turn this feature off is using the Sony Headphones app (which doesn't work properly). Both earbuds slip out quite easily.

Automatic ambient sound mode is ridiculous as it beeps every 2 secs switching from one mode to the other. I was ready to throw them away until I learned how to turn it off. Fit is good, however they fall out easily. For ear buds that are not water resistant, this could be a problem.

You can hear ambient sound through the microphones embedded in the left/right units of the headset while enjoying music. You can also change the settings of the noise canceling function and the Ambient Sound Mode with the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app. To change the setting of the Ambient Sound Mode, You can set up the Ambient Sound Mode by connecting the smartphone (with the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app installed) and the headset via Bluetooth connection. We value your feedback regarding the earbuds. If any water drops are left in the microphone hole of the headset, it may cause corrosion. If you get water on the headset, turn the microphone hole downward and gently tap it about 5 times towards a dry cloth, etc. It is stated in the specs that the unit earbuds are not water-resistant. You can select the appropriate size earbud tip to avoid inconvenience.

Best sounding wireless earbuds

It's one drawback is that it feels untrustworthy when in your ear. I'm constantly readjusting the earbuds because it feels like they're sliding out. I had the Bose truly wireless earbuds before these ones and never felt like they were going to slip out. If these earbuds had a fin to hook into your ear they would be the perfect earbuds.

Sony noise cancelling

But I do have some problems. 1) is that if anyone that is near you within two feet can listen to what your hearing if you put your volume up. 2) is that you have to have both earphones in or out the case for it to work. You cant use the right earbuds without the left one out of the case.

They take a little getting use to. My right ear is larger than the left and the left bud dose not fit well in the canal. Other wireless device will interfere but if you turn wireless connection off there is not a issue. That’s if you are not streaming. The Jabara 75t is better but will not stay in my ears. iPhone buds are good but I am not able to pinch the buttons to activate features.

What keeps me from giving 5 stars is two things. First is the fit. Tends to slide out sometimes if you are running or exercising. Would be nice to have a band or something to secure it. And second, sometimes it inexplicably unpairs with my phone and pairs again 30 seconds later. A bit annoying but not a deal breaker. Overall though, solid for the price.

But probably the best headphones I’ve ever purchased, I literally can’t hear a thing when I have them in even if no music is playing, I love how you can just hear the music and nothing else around you unlike other headphones.

Great, but not great for me

I did notice static when connected to a windows laptop. That and the fact that I couldn't find a good fit with the bud tips (personal problem I always seem to have with these sort of in ear headphones) led me to return the buds. However if I was just using them with a phone or a non windows device and I didn't have the personal fit problem I would give them 5 stars.

We're glad that you like the sound quality of the headphones. It's unfortunate that you had to return the headphones because you didn't have the best experience with their fit. To achieve the best fit and performance, the headphones must be worn properly:
- Attach the earbuds - Size M long hybrid silicone rubber earbuds come attached to the left and right units of the headset. Select and attach the earbud that allows you to hear the least ambient sounds to each unit.
- Wear the headset - Twist the headset to slide the earbud deep into your ear. The earbud will be easier to slide deep into your ear if you pull up on the top of the ear lightly while twisting the headset.

Great sound and comfort. I do notice they cut out at the gym but I tried the jabras before these and they were far worse. I wish they had official sweat protection but, even still, I have never had an issue after lots of gym trips and sweat.

I Love The Look of The Sony 3 Buds and The Is Real

I workout snd like to switch up things but all Sony. So everything is fantastic with the buds. One thing I got to work on is the fit. I’m not putting them in correctly or I’m using the wrong size rubber I have to ask someone what’s the correct way to wear them. They have fell out but like I said I don’t think it’s there fault I have so many options that I need to take the time to get the fit correct. I won’t give them up over the fit cause when I do get it right they sound so good snd the price $168 I wouldn’t return them even if I don’t use them for the gym. Their to good to let go. The Sony over the ear are also the best for price. I bought the Bose over the ear snd st $397 that’s high and they have rarely ever been on sale but the Sony 3 or 4s are just as good sound for less $$.

I travel for work and use these to watch movies and listen to music off my phone. They are excellent to lay in bed sit and walk around with. Have found the right set of plugs to keep them in my ears for any real physical activities. The headphones have some of the best sound and rich deep bass when listening to movies and music. I enjoy using Tidal HIFI music app on my phone for 360 audio (sound is multidimensional)
