We have updated firmware of these headphones that may resolve the Bluetooth you had. The software update improves the performance of the headphones and includes key features, applications, bug fixes. You can use the headphones without the app, however, to get the most out of your WF-1000XM3, the Sony Headphones Connect app helps you to quickly connect compatible Bluetooth headphones to your smartphone and allows you to customize audio settings with your headphones. For Bluetooth connection issue: The WF-1000XM3 has a new Bluetooth chip and an optimized antenna design to provide a stable connection for hours of wireless streaming. To ensure you get the best Bluetooth connection, we recommend setting the headphones Bluetooth Connection Mode to “Priority on stable connection”.

• For touch sensor, you cannot operate the touch sensor when not wearing the headset. If you change the setting on the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app so that the headset does not turn off by the automatic power off function by wearing detection, you can operate the touch sensor even when not wearing the headset.

• If the issue still occurs, please make sure that your headphones are running on the latest firmware version. The software includes key features, applications, bug fixes, and feature improvements. Hi Proman, Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience using your new Sony WF-1000XM3. Good to know that you like the comfort and sound quality of the headphones. We regret to hear about the issue you have. To activate the Quick attention mode or listen to ambient sound quickly, hold your finger to the touch sensor on the left unit. The Quick Attention Mode is activated only when you are touching the touch sensor.

It's also important to note that depending on the type and size of the earbuds you use, the Quick Attention Mode may not be fully effective. Also, if the headset is not worn properly, the Quick Attention Mode may not work correctly. Twist the headset to slide the earbud deep into your ear.

You can also change the settings of the noise canceling function and the Ambient Sound Mode with the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app.

The WF-1000XM3 comes with different sizes of earbuds to ensure there is a great fit for all ear sizes and an optimal noise canceling experience. As a suggestion, to reduce discomfort while wearing the headphones, we recommend to try to use the right size according to the size of your ears. When wearing them, please gently pull on the top of your ear as you twist the earbud into your ear. This should give you a firmer hold and better noise canceling experience. For low sound quality, we recommend to try the different sound modes found in the Sony Headphones Connect app. There is even an EQ in there—which can be customized to fine-tune your music to your liking.

Hi Tyler,

We're sorry to hear the right earbud doesn't work right out of the box. We value your input and appreciate the feedback. It may be indicating that the remaining charge becomes low. The headset turns on when it is removed from the charging case (flashes twice). In this case, when the remaining battery charge is 20% or lower (requires charging), the indicator lights (red LED) flashes for about 15 seconds. Also, when the battery becomes completely empty, the headset sounds a warning beep, the voice guidance says, “Please recharge headset. Power off”, and the headset automatically turns off.
