Broken Out of the Box

The LED flickers red erratically, doesn't turn on, doesn't charge, you can't pair it. The left earbud seems to be working just fine, but the right is completely unusable. Had these earbuds for a grand total of 1 hour before discovering this. And 55 of those minutes was just me finishing up my errands and driving back home. Absolutely do not recommend. So many people are complaining that they stop working after just a month or two. The only reason I'm glad I encountered this issue out of the box is that I know I'll be able to get a refund without having to fight over it. Taking these back to the store first thing in the morning and going to purchase something that ***isn't*** Sony branded. Absolutely horrible first-impression of trying to buy high-quality earbuds.

We're sorry to hear the right earbud doesn't work right out of the box. We value your input and appreciate the feedback. It may be indicating that the remaining charge becomes low. The headset turns on when it is removed from the charging case (flashes twice). In this case, when the remaining battery charge is 20% or lower (requires charging), the indicator lights (red LED) flashes for about 15 seconds. Also, when the battery becomes completely empty, the headset sounds a warning beep, the voice guidance says, “Please recharge headset. Power off”, and the headset automatically turns off.

|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.These in-ear earphones were a special treat and, in a lot of ways, I love them, but I did have some issues that dragged down my rating from 5* to 4*. To begin with, these just look fantastic! The earphones themselves look amazing, but the case elevates them to another level. I just love looking at them and showing them off. The controls are intuitive, just tap on the earphones, and there's a helpful voice that tells you what you've just done as you cycle through the settings. I wasn't especially impressed with the noise cancelling abilities, but that might be because I'm so used to my Sony noise cancelling over-ear headphones. The thing about my over-ears, though, is that they're bulky and run out of batteries before most flights are over. So, even though I prefer their noise cancelling, I really prefer the convenience of these new in-ear headphones and I suspect that these will be with me on most trips. Audio is good, though not up to the quality of my over-ear headphones. The convenience of it, though, again balances it out. Also important, they adapt to the environment I’m in, which is a bit of an odd experience. Also odd, figuring out how to keep these in-ear headphones to stay in-ear. This is my first pair of in-ear headphones and I’m not sure where to put my expectations. For example, there is a helpful instruction pamphlet that describes how to get them to fit correctly, but I’m not certain if I should expect them to occasionally fall out of my ear, which they occasionally do, and I’m not certain if it’s because I’ve fit them wrong, or my ears are just poorly shaped for this sort of earphone. Complaints aside, I am really enjoying owning these. They look amazing, are very convenient, and have all of the features that I want. I will certainly be using these as my go-to travel earphones, and will almost certainly start using them as my daily pair. My guess is that my criticisms are user error and will vanish as I learn to better use them. As I do, I’ll be back to update my review. I would recommend them to any friend looking to move from over-ear headphones to in-ear headphones.
