Posted .Hi Tay1, We regret to hear that. We can reset your headphones to isolate the issue. Place the headset in the charging case, leave the lid of the charging case open, then hold your finger to the touch sensor on the left unit for about 20 seconds. Release your finger when the indicator (red) of the headset turns off after flashing. Then hold your finger to the touch sensor on the right unit for about 20 seconds. Release your finger when the indicator (red) of the headset turns off after flashing. When there is a problem with the headset, the indicator (red) of the headset remains off and does not start flashing even if you perform the procedures described above. In this case, hold your finger to the touch sensor longer (for about 30 seconds), and release your finger when the indicator (red) of the headset turns on.

Sad I received a defective set...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.--Just want to say these ear buds are truly awesome! I am still giving them a 4/5 rating even though my left ear bud inexplicably stopped after less than 24hrs of use. --Sound is awesome and the ability to alter the EQ in the app is great --Fit is also great. Plenty of ear tips provided to ensure the most secure fit. --Touch controls are SUPER responsive and accurate. --Bluetooth connection is strong and as advertised, will get you the 30-40ft no problem. --Battery life was also great -> kept noise cancelling on so I was at aroud 5.5-6hrs when they became low. --Case is large, but premium in feel and overall quality. **I have the geeksquad replacement plan so I am hoping the next set I receive are solid because these are very awesome ear buds.**

Could be better, could be worse
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I read a lot of review on various forums and sites like Best Buy and Sony's on web page. After a not so great experience with previous wireless noisce cancelling product from Sony (1000X) I went ahead and bought these against my better judgment. I will admit the Noise Cancelling and Sound Quality are improved and most importantly the batter life is MUCH better. I would say the battery life and Noise Cancelling are its strongest suits. The one thing I would strike against these is comfort and their inability to stay in your ear. I have tried many of the attachments sent and they provide a lot, but these always fall out of your ear especially in the Spring and Summer months. I am not sure why they couldn't incorporate or include ones that fit into upper canal of ear like Bose offers. These are not the lightest and their weight I think is what is causing them to fall out of ears after more than 10 minutes of usage. Otherwise not too bad.

Posted .Hi Smoothe,
Thank you for purchasing the WF-1000XM3 Wireless Noise-Canceling Headphones.
While we're glad you like the sound quality, battery life and noise canceling, we regret to hear that you are having issues with your wireless headphones. This is not the experience we want you to have. The WF-1000XM3 comes with different sizes of earbuds to ensure there is a great fit for all ear sizes and an optimal noise canceling experience. Please use the right size according to the size of your ears. When wearing them, please gently pull on the top of your ear as you twist the earbud into your ear. This should give you a firmer hold and better noise canceling experience. For more information, check the link below: https://helpguide.sony.net/mdr/wf1000xm3/v1/en/contents/TP0002392265.html

Objective Comparison to Other In Ear ANC Buds
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A bit of a background. I have the Bose QC20 and QC30. I also have the WI-1000x and these as well as the airpods pro. In the end, it depends on what you're primarily using it for. For air travel active noise cancellation (ANC), the Sony sets are absolutely horrible. They almost have no effect expect to isolate the noise due to the in ear design. However, for sound quality, Sony is the best of the bunch by far. For ANC, the Bose sets are king. The sound quality is fairly good as well. The airpods pro strike the best balance. Sound quality is a bit better than the Bose and its ANC is very close to Bose. I'd say the best bang for your buck will be the Airpods Pro if u can tolerate its relatively short battery life of 5 hrs. If not, go with the QC30. It'll give u 10 hrs but it's an around the neck design. The QC20 is also a good choice if u can tolerate the wires. It has a marathon battery life good for international flights.

Best earbuds ever!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are phenomenal! I have an iPhone with the google assistant app, and they link perfectly. My earbuds will read incoming text messages so I don’t interrupt my work flow during the day. Sound is wonderfully crisp and bass is punchy. These are awesome. Charges quick and very fashionable design. You don’t look like Frankenstein’s monster wearing these.

My supplementary review
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall obviously a good product since I rated at 5 stars. I haven't read all the reviews so not sure if this information is out there or not, but something that I've figured out about VOLUME CONTROL (at least on android phones). If you set one of the ear buds to the google assistant, you merely need to hold your finger on that bud and speak the volume level you want, eg. volume 4.5. You don't need to say, "hey google" since it immediately starts listening once your finger is on the pad. In regard to the negative reviews about CALL QUALITY... I have no idea what they are talking about. My girlfriend and I tested this extensively, and she could hear me clearly. Funnily (if that's a word, at least spell correct thinks so), during our call, I put her Apple ear bud in one ear and one of these Sony buds in my other ear and I could hear myself on the call and I agree it sounded perfect. Maybe someone is having another issue or maybe there has since been an update? In regard to one of the buds LOSING CONNECTIVITY. I did have this happen twice, but in the setting of turning the buds off using the phone app, and then trying to reconnect to see if they turned on automatically, and one did while the other didn't. Though it eventually did when I turned them back off and on. This is an unusual situation as you don't typically need to turn them off. The second time it happened, I popped them in the case, took them out and they worked again. Since that time I have used tried various things to reproduce the scenario without success. For example, I had both in, took one out, left it there and left the room. Came back, put it back in and it reactivated. I put one back in the case, using just one, put it back in and it worked. I've traded taking one out, keeping the other in, so forth and I've had no problems since. So not sure on that one, except knowing it can happen but seems to be easily resolved. Regarding SOUND QUALITY. Very good. I am an audiophile and have extensive sound/music equipment including about 10 pairs of various wired and wireless headphones including standard over the ear, open back, and buds. These are as good as any high quality headphone. Something that some people might be ignoring is that although out of the box they only sound slightly better than the AirPods, with the app you can adjust the equalization (5 level EQ) along with a Clear Bass adjustment (either negative or positive bass adjustment for 10 levels total I think). Ater spending a few minutes adjusting those parameters while listening to music, they now sound about twice as good as the AirPods, well you know, as far as I can tell. For the most part I agree with other reviewers on the other aspects. Hope that helps.

Great sound, great ANC- call audio a fatal flaw...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.BLUF- If you want top-notch audio and unparalleled noise cancelling, buy these. If you need to make a phone call, look elsewhere... Purchased the Sony buds and compared head-to-head with the Beats Powerbeats Pros. Dead-heat, depending on your needs. The Sony WF-1000XM3 buds seem to be the BEST on the market for sound quality and are unparalleled for noise cancelling. They are on-par with more expensive and bulkier (on-ear) options for noise cancelling options with much better form factor. They are great for music with an excellent sound stage for a wide variety of styles. They are more comfortable and have MUCH better sound quality than the Beats PowerBeats on every level, especially with the Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) option and they are very easy to use. The touch pads on the ear pods work well I have to admit they take a little to getting used to. Only real down side is the unavailability of volume control- Thought it would be a big deal but in truth not a significant loss. The Beats headset has it but not a big deal compared to how much more the Sony offers. The fatal flaw (for me) is if you need to use these for a phone call, look elsewhere. The Beats PowerBeats system has many shortcoming compared to the Sony, but they do in fact work much better for phone calls. While I admit I LOVE the Sony MX3 from a sound quality, ANC capability and functionality perspective, the excess noise that is prevalent on a phone call is a deal breaker for what I need. The background noise seems to actually be amplified on a phone call, with even a background TV program in an otherwise quiet environment overpowering the audio on a call, making for a very distracting call experience for the distant end. The best description I've had is that using these sounds (to the distant end) like I'm on a speaker phone that's overly sensitive to background noise. This is very unfortunate for an otherwise EXCELLENT item and something that seems to be a software issue. The exceptionally poor call audio quality for my needs is a complete deal-breaker on these. If Sony could update the firmware (currently running the latest version at 1.3.7) to compensate for the completely UNUSABLE call quality, these would be THE premier wireless option. I just can't "hope" Sony is able and willing to support these for call quality. If you are looking for the very best in ANC, sound quality and comfortable systems the Sony is superb. If you need to make a call and expect the distant end to hear and understand you, look elsewhere. Pains me to say because I want to love these but Sony completely missed the mark on functionality with calls. Unfortunately, will be returning these this weekend despite how good they are otherwise. Absolutely LOVE these but call quality is a key decider and these are a huge fail on that particular front. If Sony monitors these reviews- Fix this call problem with a SW update and you rule the market....

Fantastic
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ok. I'm just a regular guy. Had several ear buds, actually, quite alot of them. I'm not a professional but I do know what sounds good. I play classical guitar and a fairly mean bluegrass banjo. Bought these 12/06/19. Got home, put buds in charger case and plugged it in. I'm using a galaxy note 8 phone to keep my music on. When the charger box got charged, I turned my phone on. I then took the ear buds out, stuck them in my ears. Went to wify on the phone. The buds were already looking for my phone when I took them out of the case. They came right up on my phone in about 2.seconds. went to my music and wow..... great. I have a brick ranch home about 2000 square ft. Put my phone at one end of the house, walked to the other end. Fantastic. Then walked outside, probably 30 to 40 feet from my phone. Never lost a signal. The music sounded just like I was beside the phone. Took the ear buds out, they immediately shut off. Put them in my ears and they reconnected to my phone. Now, I never read any of the directions. My wife hates that but hell, earbuds should do just what they did. And they did it very well. The sound was great. I adjusted the EQ on my music app to get the sound I wanted. I Iisten to music and audio books. Both sound great. Tomorrow I'm going to get the right size tips on the ear buds and yea, read the directions. Oh, need to mention that there were way to many ear pieces in that box. One will definitely fit your ears. I've had several ear buds, some dirt cheap and some a little to dang expensive for my living. Anyway these are worth the money so far. If you don't see an update then rest assured I've had no problem. If you're on the fence on weather to spend that high dollar on these, you wont6be disappointed.

4 Years Later
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these earbuds in 2019 to be a combination of ambient noise earplugs, on-the-go music, and hands-free calls when I'm working in the garage. They're great at all of those things! They still work great in 2023, but the charging case is starting to fail, so I'm looking at a replacement. Will probably buy Sony again!

BETTER THAN POWERBEATS PRO!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchase the Powerbeats pro and they suck! I had the Powerbeats 3 for almost 4 years. Great pair of headphones. Great sound and they took a lot of abuse. I figured the Powerbeats pro would be better than the PB 3. I was wrong! Returned them and got the Sony. These earbuds are ridiculous! The noise canceling is amazing and can’t forget about the crazy clean bass. You can completely customize the sound you want. I bought them for the gym. I wouldn’t do a WOD in them but definitely great for bodybuilding. The only thing I would worry about is that it doesn’t have a IPX rating. I just wouldn’t take them in the sauna. Lol so for that I give them a 9 out of 10 overall. 10 out of 10 for sound quality.

5 Years Burned Out (Great HeadSets)
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well, it would seem that 5 years is a termination point for these Sony WF-1000EM3's. Its Jan 3rd, 2025 and took them out to listen to music and RT ear piece is NON functional. Flickering Red LED, no connectivity. Oh and no I have never dropped them nor submerged them in a puddle. 5 years they are burned out. Sony will do nothing neither will BestBuy.

Cool product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are super cool. I shopped around for a while before buying these. They sound great and the noise cancelling feature works well enough to hear the music at a semi quiet volume as not to damage my ears and not hear the music playing over the PA at the gym. My only criticism is some sort of popping sound I hear on occasion, particularly when I’m running. Sony has a document https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/wireless-headphones-bluetooth-headphones/wh-1000xm3/articles/00097458 that gives tips on preventing this popping sound which I am going to try. When I’m stationary or moving slightly when weight lifting, the popping sound goes away. This is the only reason they got a 4 out of 5, but I’m not sure I can fault the headphones themselves or bluetooth transmission in general. They did fall out of the case onto the locker room floor which is kinda gnarly so be careful when handling them. The case doesn’t lock them in place. You also don’t need to press them down hard or really do anything aside from just place them in there to get them to charge in the case. You have to adjust the earpiece to fit them properly in the case which could have maybe been designed a little better.

Make sure your Sony WF-1000XM3 are updated by downloading and installing the latest firmware version: https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/wireless-headphones-bluetooth-headphones/wf-1000xm3/downloads.
