While we're glad that you like great audio quality of these earbuds, we're sorry to learn if the unit did not fit you well and tends to move in your ears with just a little movement. For fit concern, the WF-1000XM3 features an Ergonomic Tri-hold structure design for a snugly and comfortably fitting. A high-friction rubber surface keeps the noise canceling earbuds snug and secure in your ear so they won’t slip out unexpectedly. This does also come with an assortment of earbuds in various sizes to ensure there is a great fit for all ear sizes. To ensure optimal performance, as well as to obtain the best fit and prevent the headset from falling out, when wearing them, please gently pull on the top of your ear as you twist the earbud into your ear. This should give you a firmer hold.
Note: If the earbud tips tend to come off in your ears when you shake your head, we recommend to change the earbud tips to another size to comfortably and snugly fit your left and right ears.

Too big for my little ear (v_v)
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.These simply did not work in my right ear which I have just learned is smaller than my left. I tried every size tip and could not get a snug fit where it won't fall out just sitting at work or comfortable fit where it doesn't leave my right ear hurting so I favoured the left ear bud. Over the course of a couple months I started having connection issues where the earbuds don't want to connect to my phone, lose connection randomly, or will connect but audio from a phone call doesn't come through so I have to hang up the call, put the ear bud back in the case then make the call again which just became way too much work. On a lighter note I love the option to assign the function of touch sensor on each side of the earbuds to do pause, play, hang up, or nothing at all, which I usually had it set to do nothing cause I was always readjusting them. For the price I would have like some kind of tacking feature if an earbud is misplaced which I did the first week and cried till I found it. The Ambient Noice Control is something I didn't know that I needed in an ear bud. I often just wear them with nothing playing so ppl assume that I'm listening to music an don't bother me, but I can still hear them talking about me. I'm actually pretty sad that I had to return these. Sony is one of my favorite companies for headphones.

The noise canceling is without a doubt the best I have ever used in any earbuds. I was astonished. You can alter the level of noise cancellation on the App which is super useful. My only issue is the Bluetooth connectivity. Sometimes I have to put the earbuds back in there case and close the lid for 10 or 15 seconds and then try to reconnect them. My Jabras are flawless when connecting. Overall these are my second on my list of headphones to use.

-Change the position or location of the unit or connected device.

The sound, the voice, the clarity, is just amazing and awesome. It sounds very clear and good. The bad thing is the price. But I would say that they are worth it. Would definitely recommend these to people that are looking for some earbuds that are wireless and that have some good clean bass.

You can barely hear the riding mower... Amazing! Also indepent from one another, no master slave bud, like the newer version. Makes a huge difference for me.

Buy cheaper WF-XB700 instead (wait for next model)

I prefer the Sony WF-XB700 for half the price, sound, durability and streamlined case. Pros: 1. they sound pretty good. 2. the noise canceling improves enjoyment of the music and can be used without music just to concentrate. 3. The app works to compliment and add SOME customization. Cons: 1. call quality is terrible often, and sounds like digital computer noise. 2. they fit poorly and can easily fall out while just casually walking around (not exercising) 3. they are not comfortable for long periods of time with any of the earbud tips. 4. the case is very bulky in the pocket and susceptible to damage. 5. noise canceling is not as good as over ear phones, and buds must be pushed far into ear for a good seal. 6. the sound quality is not good enough to justify the price. 7. They are not water resistant, so not great for workouts.

Sony Earbuds

I found the sound to be much better and the Sony app allows the user to adjust the sound. They also, provide periodic updates which is far better than what is available on most earbuds out there. I have been using them for several days and the only problem I have is keeping them in my ears.

Worst tech buy I have ever made.

Before the Sonys I had a pair of Bose SportFree 1st gen for 2 years before I got these. So I was really looking forward to active noise canceling and longer battery life. After 3 days I returned them to the store and got another set of Bose Sports. Why? Well here we go. 1) Noise cancelation only mildly work. I drive a dump truck so listening to the thundering of a diesel engine for 10hrs a day is a drag. These did very little to cancel out the sound though this could be in part due to reason 2. Even then my bose with no active noise canceling keep the ambient noise to a minimum just as well. 2) Fit was non existent. Despite the wide range of available ear tips not one pair would hold the buds in securely. The tips would either slide out or simply not lock in. 3)Comfort was horrendous. I wear my bose 7-10hrs a day with virtually no discomfort. The Sony I was doing very well to wear them for half an hour before my ears started to hurt. This even after trying out multiple tips. 4) Sound quality was lacking. When playing music both the high and low ranges were woefully underpowered. The apps attached tuner helped some but not much. It says a lot when a 2 year old set of earbuds outperforms Sonys newest cutting edge buds. 5) Call quality was horrible. Now when they worked properly the call quality was fine but half the time I had a strange metallic synthesizer like sound overlaying the voices so it sounded like Mr.Roboto talking. 6) Random glitches. While playing music the buds would randomly chime and lower the volume like I had received a notification. This would be well and good except it did this ALL THE TIME. Even after turning off ALL notifications it would still sporadically drop the volume for several seconds, both during streaming and phone calls. 7) Support app is at best mildly helpful. The support app is glitchy, hard to work and would not download a software update unless the earbuds where at 100% as was the case. 8) What is with the case? I had more issue closing the case with the buds in it than any adult should. This due to the fact the buds slide down inside the case at an angle and if you're just a little off the buds won't click into place. Sorry for the huge block of text but I figured I would write out my full experience with these. So sad cause I was so excited for these buds.

Won't sat in my ears

I will say the sound of these headphones is absolutely amazing. All of the features work well. The battery life is great. The problem is I am constantly picking them up off the floor. If you are sitting in one place they are great. If you are up and moving or exercising they continuously fall out. I have tried every different size tip included in the box. The headphones continue to fall out. I have also bought some aftermarket tips hoping for improvement. They are a little bit better but the earbuds still fall out. The $65 pair I had before I bought these stayed in my ears perfectly fine. If I could keep them in my ears they would easily be a five star.

The WH-1000XM3s are easily the best set of reasonably priced headphones I've ever owned, they've replaced my Bose and Sennheisers as my daily headset.. these wireless earbuds... not even in the same class. I bought a pair for my wife for her birthday and was truly excited to give them to her. She loved them... until the left earbud died within an hour. The bud was completely bricked and unresponsive. The unit wouldn't charge, was no longer recognized. Could not hard reset... and the store had no replacements. The positives- they sounded great while they worked. The noise cancelling was solid for a set of ear buds. The units were pretty comfortable. Pairing was seamless and the app is solid. They sit pretty close to the ear and dont look like the Bose frankenbolts. The negatives- well they stopped working within an hour... kindof a big one. No volume control from the earbuds. No hand over ear playthrough like the headphone version. The charging case is massive. Units have no water protection. Well I returned and am waiting for an exchange, if the new ones work then i'll modify the review and up to 3 or 4 stars. These may work well for my wife but I dont see them replacing my 65Ts anytime soon.

Good noise cancelling but not worth the money

They sometimes do not connect to phone automatically. I don't even bother trying to talk on phone with them connected because of poor mic quality. Not worth the money imo. Wish I would've stuck with my galaxy ear buds.

The connectivity capabilities of these headphones are the worst I've come across. Half of the time the headphones don't connect to my PC (other bluetooth headphones do just fine), while the other half of the time the headphones connect but the sound goes dark within 5-10 minutes. This is extremely frustrating, especially when on a call at work. The noise cancelling is fine, but nothing in the world is worth the amount of time and energy I spent in trying to troubleshoot these - and yet I still haven't been able to connect them to my PC. Sony's support website is terrible - a total waste of time. To make a long story short - don't waste your buck. You're probably better off getting the airpods.

Wish I could get my money back

My connection randomly drops with my phone and even the fit of the earbuds is awkward in my ear. Additionally they are slightly more bulky than I thought which I didn’t think would bug me but it does. On a positive they do a decent job at noise canceling so they do live up to that standard. Overall I feel like I overpaid and if I could I would want my money back because I don’t think they are worth what I paid. I missed my 15 day window to return my items to Best Buy so now I’m stuck with a set of earbuds I don’t like.
