Love these
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sound quality is superb for earbuds. Active noise canceling is surprisingly effective. Adaptive sound control knows where you are and adjusts modes accordingly. If you don’t want brief one second interruptions in your audio, turn this feature off. 360 Audio through Tidal sounds amazing. I can hear details in songs I didn’t even know where there before. There are only a handful of songs using this technology so far, but the list is growing. I’ve had perfect clarity on phone calls. Battery life is better than most competitors. Comfortable fit once you find the right size tips. These are expensive but definitely worth it in my opinion.

Great sound, hard fit for me
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have to admit, I have small ear canals. I have trouble with most in-air headphones. I couldn't even think of Apple earbuds - way to big. This set comes with about 8 different size tips. I watch videos and people just put them in and they stay. It takes me about 5 minutes and a lot of manipulation to get them in and have them stay in, even with the smallest tip. But once they're in, the sound and noise cancelling are phenomenal. I listen to mostly classical and jazz. Everything is crystal clear. I experimented with the different sound parameters, and for jazz I like the bass boost. For classical, depending on what I'm listening to, I choose. But any of the parameters are great.

A lot to be fixed here!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have used these for a month now and want to like them so much since I am a Sony fanatic. I have been very loyal to Sony for 25+ years. I was very excited to grab a pair of these and had high expectations for these since it is a Sony product. I just can’t deal with these anymore. They constantly fall out of my ears after trying every combination of ear tips they came with. They fall out no mater what. Sony really needs to get on that wing tip style of ear tips that the Bose uses. I still tried to use them since I am Pro Sony but with the ear tips not getting a good grip of my ear, the noise canceling as well as the music quality takes a deep dive to poor quality status. It became too frustrating to deal with all of this constantly when wearing these. Then when you get to a phone call, this is experience is just as bad! Every single call that I took with these ear buds was a poor experience. Every caller that I had on the other line complained that they couldn’t hear me or asked where was I because all they could hear was background noise. Wish I could just get my money back. A lot needs to be fixed with these in my experience with them over the last month.

Wanted to like them, but very uncomfortable
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed some earphones with active noise-canceling for my studies. I bought these in hopes that they would do the same as my Sony WH-1000XM2 over-the-ear, with realistic expectations that in-ear headphones would be a slight downgrade. These are for the times when I didn't want to carry a full set of headphones out in public or had just styled my hair. Getting straight to the point, the noise-canceling was pretty good and people said they heard me on the other ends of calls and I could hear them as well. The Sony headphones app is very intuitive and good for equalization. However, that's where the positives ended. Don't even think about taking them outside your house. These headphones were very loose. I dropped them while walking around the house. I can't imagine risking these expensive headphones on the streets. Also, these are not IP-rated, so you can't get any water or sweat on them. Making them less versatile for workouts. The thing that really bothered me was that the physical design of these made it very uncomfortable after THIRTY minutes. I had to take them out of my ears to rub my ears. They were like walking around in shoes too small for your size. I tried remedying it by trying the different-sized earbud tips. I used the largest through the smallest and the different materials. NOTHING changed the comfort. I hesitantly returned these. I bought some Apple Airpod Pros and they are arguably better than the Sony WF-1000XM3's in the noise-canceling department.

Posted .Hi RicktheRuler, We regret to hear that the headphones had to be returned. Sony provides different sizes of earbuds to obtain the best fit and prevent the headsets from falling out. We highly recommend using the earbuds that fit your ears the best and wear the headset correctly. The earbud will be easier to slide deep into your ear if you pull up on the top of the ear lightly while twisting the headset.
We value your input and appreciate your feedback. Sony takes into consideration all feedback to improve the performance and quality of our products and services. Thank you. -Vincent

Great sound, questionable call connection
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fantastic sound quality, but a bit dodgy on staying connected during calls. It may have been the fault of my phone, but on long calls (all of them) it would kick the sound back to the phone. This did not happen when listening to music and other media.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had been holding out on buying a great pair of TW earbuds for a long time. I'd purchased several substandard (cheap) pairs off Amazon only to return them for one reason or another. I'd been reading the reviews on the Sony's for close to a year and they finally went on sale for a low enough price to make them a MUST BUY! They are elegant, substantially made, have superior sound and the noise cancelling is top notch for the style. Only con is no real water resistance so can't get them wet of exercise in them...but, I have several cheaper pairs for that. Worth every penny at full price but even better if you get them on sale.

Drummer, noise canceling is amazing
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I mainly use these for playing drums. I’ll crank the music through my sound system and then pop these in with the noise canceling on.....omg the sound quality is amazing while playing drums. It’s the perfect mix of hearing everything and everything being perfectly balanced. The drums sound like they are mic’d and the sound that comes through the ear buds is amazing. Even without music playing through my sound system and the ear buds just in noise canceling mod, makes my drums sound so amazing. A lot better than regular ear plugs. Battery life is very very impressive as well. Well-done Sony

Great Sound and noise cancelling, but...
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Make sure you get an extended warranty. I have a love/hate relationship with these earbuds. I love the sound quality and noise cancellation, but I’m on my third set right now. The first set had the left earbud stop working after a few months. The second, replacement set had the right earbud die after a few more months. I’m on my third set, replaced by Sony and I’m kind of expecting one of the earbuds to die at any time. My earbuds don’t get wet or dropped, they just stopped working one day with the exact same symptom. No charge light, no audio. Doing a factory reset didn’t help. I’ve tried a lot of earbuds, and in my opinion, these beat the Apple noise cancelling headphones in terms of sound quality and noise cancelling, but the failure rate is a bit high in my book. If you decide to get these, it might be worthwhile to get an extended warranty for them.

Great sound wireless Headphone
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased these for my husband. He loved the sound and clarity. ||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are a great first gen. Posted .Hi Itsnandy,
Thanks for taking the time to review your WF-1000XM3. We're happy that you like sound quality and noise canceling feature of the unit. Your feedback about the size of both the earbuds and charging case is greatly appreciated. In any case that you are upgrading in the future, we redesigned the internal layout to make the WF-1000XM4 headphones 10% smaller than the previous generation, without compromising on sound quality or battery life. The charging case is smaller too by 40%, yet still gives you 16 hours of on-the-go charge.
We designed these headphones to provide incredible sound and noise cancellation in a compact, stylish, truly wireless design. The Sony | Headphones Connect App includes Adaptive Sound Control—which automatically adjusts noise canceling to your surroundings, and an equalizer—which can be customized to fine-tune your music. And with all-day battery life and a quick charge, they are meant to deliver a truly immersive listening experience, wherever you go. Thanks for choosing Sony! -Jess

Top notch true wireless.
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did extensive research on these even before they came out. Then I saw several YouTube reviews right before purchasing them. They are excellent and they lived up to the positive reviews. They last a long time (6 hours with ANC, 8 without). You can use one earbud at a time, either side, even while the other bud is in the case. Sony has added volume control through the touch pad in the earbud. These have received three updates since I purchased them, every time improving features or quality of connection. I love using the app to adjust the EQ. These are the best sounding true wireless out here. Well worth the price.

Fantastic set of earbuds
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'd been holding out on getting wireless earbuds because I'd heard that the first couple of generations of products were pretty rough around the edges. When Sony announced these, I kept a close eye on them because they were being flouted as the earbud version of their best-in-class WH-1000XM3 over-ears. After looking at lots of reviews, I decided to bite the bullet and haven't been disappointed. While the first set I bought had a dead left earbud out of the box (I have terrible luck with getting defective items from Best Buy for some reason), the second pair I got has worked flawlessly. I get stellar wireless performance and call quality has been excellent. Most importantly, however, is the sound quality. These are the best set of earphones/headphones I have ever owned. I bought a really nice pair of JVC over-ears when in Akihabara, Tokyo, Japan in 2010 and have since had both the Beats Pro Wireless and Beats Solo3 Wireless as my premium headsets. I've otherwise just used the earbuds that have come with phones. The Beats were a bit too punchy with the bass as my ears matured and definitely had some distortion when hitting the lower end of the spectrum; mids and highs were acceptable but not fantastic. The JVCs had better overall sound quality and were solid all-arounders, though the bass was a bit hollow, and unfortunately broke a number of years back. Bring in the WF-1000XM3. I can't even begin to describe how much better these sound than those previous options. They produce excellent clarity and warmth throughout the lows, mids, and highs. I listen to a wide variety of music, from industrial rock to pop to classical to oldies. They produced excellent clarity when listening to Deutschland by Rammstein and did not produce any distortion or seem muddled in the guitar chords as with my previous headphones. Even the vocals, which are harsh and intense, came through with clarity I haven't previously heard in their music. Fields and Fences by Yellowcard, which progresses from clear acoustic guitar, warm electric bass, and clean vocals to more energetic chords on electric guitars, heavier bass, and more expressive vocals was fantastic throughout the song with clarity in the mids and highs and just enough punch in the lows while maintaining the clarity of the other two. The third movement Scherzo - molto vivace of Dvorak's New World Symphony was likewise remarkable in bringing excellent clarity to the entire range of the strings, brass, and woodwinds without creating any artificial emphasis on any of the instruments - you truly hear the symphony as the director of the London Symphony Orchestra intended. In particular, when listening to Piano Man by Billy Joel, I noticed some very subtle bass notes that had not been apparent with any of my previous headphones and it was like listening to a new song. I could go on and on, but I think I've made my point on the sound quality. Coupled with he excellent noise cancelling and soundstage, these earbuds will never fail to impress. While certainly not at the level of Sony's pricier, larger WH-1000XM3 over-ears, I truly believe that this is the best you'll get for true wireless earbuds.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love these wireless earbuds. The noise cancelling feature is great and works well, battery life is also quite good. What the companion app lacks in a pleasant UI experience, it makes up for in it's utility. I use these mainly with a Samsung phone and haven't had any issues with connection or sound quality. I've used these on several plane trips and the noise cancelling works quite well. These have the potential to get uncomfortable if you don't have a good fit, so I suggest trying out all of the included tips until you find one that fits best. Otherwise a solid set of earbuds that will surely surpass your expectations.

The best sounding wireless earphones
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these earphones for my sister as she is an android phone user and iPods wouldn’t have been of much use to her. After comparing several other truly wireless earphones, I zeroed down in these. They are the most expensive Sony earphones available and definitely the best sounding ones. I like them more than my Bose noise canceling headphones ( QC 35). The noise cancellation is better than what I have experienced on my Bose headphones. The earphones look beautiful ( I have the golden colored ones) and are extremely comfortable to wear. I’ll get another pair for myself.

Posted .Hi DoctorRei16,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience using your new Sony WF-1000XM3.
It's unfortunate to hear you're experiencing issues with your unit. We have taken note of your issues. Customer feedback is important to us because it helps us improve our products for the future. Good to know that you like its sound quality. One of the possible resolutions to the issue is by updating the firmware of the headphones (via the Sony Headphones Connect app) for optimum performance. The software update improves the general performance of the unit and includes key features, applications, and bug fixes.
The WF-1000XM3 comes with different sizes of earbuds to ensure there is a great fit for all ear sizes and an optimal noise canceling experience. Please use the right size according to the size of your ears. When wearing them, please gently pull on the top of your ear as you twist the earbud into your ear. This should give you a firmer hold and better noise canceling experience. Feel free to test them again once done with our suggestions.

Great wireless earbuds
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I previously used the Google Buds before these. The original Buds were connected by a wire, and while many criticised that feature, I liked it because if one bud fell out, it would be attached to the other. So I was worried about non wired Bluetooth earbuds. At first, these did fall out of my ears. The trick is to twist it in and they will stay. I mean, if you shake your head vigorously, they will likely fall out but that doesn't happen often. The sound quality is great. You can choose noise cancelling mode to reduce constant ambient noise or you can choose to be able to hear what's around you (like traffic if taking a walk; please be aware of your surroundings). One downside is that it would produce a screeching noise when the battery ran low. Not sure if an update would fix this. There are cheaper alternatives but if you have the means, then these buds are a great buy.
