Build quality is good, sound is crystal clear. Good highs mids and lows depending on equalizer setting. Noise cancel is very good and the abient sound control is a nice bonus when you need to hear your surroundings. Battery life is very good. Getting them to stay in ear is somewhat of a challenge if your moving around a lot. But not terrible.. many eartips to choose from for the right fit.. Well done Sony.

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.These Sony noise canceling ear buds were the best when they introduced a few years ago and they can still hold their own when compared to the like of Bose, Klipsch, Jabra, Apple AirPods Pro, and Samsung Galaxy Buds + (all of which I have owned). The only problem, if you want to call it that, is they are not water/sweat proof. So if you are looking to use them for working out, please look elsewhere. Otherwise, I like them. Additionally, due to the fact that there is a newer model by Sony that is water/sweat proof. That means that the price on these will go down. I got mine for $128.00 on Best Buy.

We recommend using headphones that were designed to be used for working out. These headphones can be used for running. However, this model doesn't have an IPX rating since it's not waterproof. So make sure to prevent the water or sweat from entering the unit. In any case that you are upgrading in the future, you may want to consider checking this model, WF-1000XM4, which has an IPX4 rating that can handle sweat or splashes from rain when you're working out.

Sound is great but not good for conference calls

Fit well for normal movement but idk if I would trust running or working out with them in. Ears were a little sore when first using them. First noise cancelling headphones I've owned. Work well in my factory work setting. Blocks out background noise pretty good but features make it easy to hear when needed. Definitely recommend and epically in this price range of $129.00

Amazing sound and noise canceling, but so-so calls

I am now able to hear notes in songs that I have been listening to for years that I never heard before. And the noise canceling function works brilliantly. It is so nice to not need a big pair of over-ear headphones to get great noise canceling. My only complaint is with calling. The volume seems unusually low when on calls, and I have received multiple complaints that people cannot hear me well.

Comfortable, great sound, and the app gives you a decent amount of options to customize the experience. Wife recently got a paid of Airpods Pro and honestly? I think these are the better deal and sound. If I had a complaint, it would be the weird position of the USB C port to charge. It would be nice if there was a way for the charging container could stand up rather than just lying down.

I decided to get out of my comfort zone and go with these based on reviews and research. I really like these. I have only had them a few weeks, but they have grown on me. Great sound, easy to connect to multiple Bluetooth devices, and very user friendly. The only thing I have a slight issue with is the noise cancelling. It really takes some time to get used to. In order for it to really work, you have to get it pretty deep into your ear canal. It is hard to get used to the feeling of speaking and listening with them in. I am pretty comfortable with it now. I would probably not have purchased them if I had tested them, but I am glad now that I didn't.

Very happy that I did. The noise canceling feature works exactly as described and the sound quality is very good. Using Google assistant is a breeze. I recommend downloading the Sony headphone app as it has other customizable features. The only thing that can be tricky is finding the right size buds for a right fit, but it comes with a number of different sizes for all preferences.

The headphones themselves are not the greatest and maintaining their place in your eyes. It may be just mine but with every size and material earbud provided it does not stay in my ear. I will lean forward to pick something up off the ground and they will slightly move out of my ear. I'll have to readjust them. These headphones are good for studying and sitting down and doing work. These headphones SHOULD NOT be used for any active activity. They will fall out with a quick turn of the head or a light jog.

A great concept, but an underwhelming product

I love the look of them, the charging case with long battery life, and the active noise canceling. Unfortunately, they did not meet up to my expectations. Only after few months they broke, which is not the experience I want from a pair of $220 earbuds. The tips are very invasive, meaning they will reach deep into your ear canal. At first this was pretty annoying, but actually helped quite a bit for keeping sound out. Still though, this design only makes them comfortable to wear for about an hour at a time, and, as a student, when I’m studying I will definitely want to listen to music for more than an hour. This meant I would have to have a second pair of ear buds handy to swap with once I got too tired of wearing the Sony WF-1000s. These don’t work well for working out either, as there are no ear pieces that help to hook into your ear, meaning that anything more than walking will almost definitely have these little suckers flying out your ears. For a product like this, I expected much better performance from the so called “AirPod killers”

They aren’t. Great sound and battery life. Far better sound the AirPods Pro. But they don’t stay in my ears. I’ve tired all the different covers that came with earbuds, but when when sitting on an airplane, they slowly pull out of my ear. And forget running. They pop out within a few seconds.

Great noise canceling in a small package!

The sound quality is great, the noise cancelling is truly amazing, and the battery life is very good as well. I specifically bought them for a recent flight to Central America, about 3 hours, and at full noise cancelling and about 60-70% volume (don't need anymore with full n/c) I only used about 70% battery. I have received 2 updates, since I purchased, and I'm glad that Sony is taking their time to improve and add features to the headphones.
