I bought these as an Alternative to the AirPod Pro's and SONY Delivers, which is Awesome. The App intuitively allows you to Do what EVER you want and it changes with Audio Adaption to change with your surroundings which that in itself is Awesome, DEFINITELY worth looking at.

The Best Choice for Everday Earbud Use

True Wireless Earbuds are slowly becoming the new norm and Sony really helped speed up that pace with the release of these new earbuds. I have tried several wireless earbuds out and these are by far the most interesting all around. DESIGN: - Although how true wireless earbuds work should be most important, I think that style and design is really the most important to people. They want something that is sleek and easy to use. Overall the Sony Earbuds nail it. The case easily fits in the palm of your hand but is still bigger than some other earbud cases. However, I don’t think any earbud cases look as nice as these ones - the matter black with bronze top really make it seem high end. The earbuds themselves just snap right into the case magnetically and that is a huge plus too. Of course the earbuds themselves are the most important aspect. They are a little larger than some earbuds but that’s to be expected - after all the noise cancelling and sound quality need that space to house it components - but they earbuds still manage to stay really slim against your ears and feel completely out of the way. I have to admit I didn’t love the look immediately but they grew on me really quickly and I’m a fan now. FEATURES: - Sony nailed almost all the features right on these things. You got USB-C charging which is a must with new products but there is no wireless charging which would be nice considering the price but it isn’t something that I use a ton anyways. The touch controls are a really nice feature for changing settings or songs, or if you hold your hand over the left touch controls it lets you listen into whatever is going on around you without disrupting your songs, and you can use the controls to activate your Google Assistant. I do wish the touch controls had the ability to change volume but that seems too be the norm with true wireless earbuds. My biggest gripe with the Earbuds as a whole is that the earbuds and case have three separate LED indicators to show what has power (the case, left bud, right bud) but they are only ever this red color. If it’s fully charged it doesn’t turn green or anything like that. So I just don’t like how there is never a good way to tell the case battery level and the earbuds only tell you power levels when they are connected to your device. It’s a minor thing to complain about but it bothers me. Finally, a nice Pro is that the Earbuds work independently from each other - as in some earbuds need the right to be on for the left to work. The Sony ones you can use one or the other with no issues and they sync up together perfectly. NOISE CANCELLING: - The biggest feature these Sony earbuds offer that most don’t are going to be the Noise cancelling. This activates automatically when you put them in your ears but can be turned off via touch buttons on the left earbud. Although the Noise cancelling isn’t on the level of full over the ear headphones, that’s to be expected - these earbuds really impressed me at how much noise cancelling they provide. It’s really unlike anything I have heard in a true wireless earbud and adds so much when you are talking a call or listening to something. SOUND: - The Sound is hands down the best sound I have ever had with True Wireless Earbuds. You can use the Sony Headphone app to mess around with settings but overall the Bass is deep and meaningful, and all the vocals come in crisp and clear. Just a really great way to listen to music or watch movies with. I can’t say enough how much I like this sound quality over other Earbuds I have used. Also these helps with calls because they take calls really well and the microphones on them work perfectly! RECOMMENDED USE: - I just want to point out that these Earbuds are not water/sweat proof like a lot of other True Wireless earbuds which is a disappointment for sure. That being said I wore these to the gym and did a lot of difference activities with them and I never ran into quality issues or them falling out of my ears. So although I think these can easily be used at the gym, I still think Sony intended these to be your everyday earbuds rather than workout ones. I think they are going to be great for people when they travel, work in an office, listen to music, take calls, or play video games/movies with. Overall they are probably the most versatile because of how well they work and how many situations they are great for. BOTTOM LINE: - If you are wanting a true wireless experience but don’t want to skimp on sound or premium feel - these Sony Earbuds are a homerun for you. They look great, sound great, and just feel great to use. Sure there might be better headphones fo different situations, but these will quickly become the headphones you grab to take with you more than anything else!

Great Sound, Next Level Noise Canceling

These are definitely my new favorite wireless earbuds and could easily be my new favorite headphones in general. The sound quality is excellent, but even more impressive is the noise canceling, which rivals and even beats in some ways the noise canceling I’ve experienced on my Bose QC35 headphones. The quality and experience of using them makes them feel more like a comfortable set of full size headphones and despite their larger size it’s easy to forget they are there. The charging case could be smaller and though they’re not fitness oriented I do wish they had some kind of splash/dust resistance rating, but I overall I would highly recommend these. The box includes the earbuds, charging case, a short USB cable, and a set of silicone and foam ear tips. The case charges via USB-C instead of Micro-USB, which gets a big thumbs up from me. The black pair I got has some nice rose-gold accents on the earbuds and the case. Everything from the way the case opens to the way the earbuds slot in has a quality feel to it. The silicone tips that installed felt nice enough, but I ended up switching to the foam tips, which are much more comfortable, but in my experience tend to wear more quickly over time. The earbuds fit into my ears easily and though they don’t look like they’d be very secure, I never had any problems with them shifting even a little bit. I do think the charging case is just a little too big - it’s not huge by any means, but it’s just a little too big to easily fit in my pocket. Getting connected and starting to listen to them, I immediately noticed the difference in audio quality compared to the Jabra Elite 65t’s I have typically used. Music sounds much fuller and more detailed, especially once I got the right fit with the ear tips. With noise canceling turned on everything around just melts away. If nothing is playing some louder voices can break through, but for the most part I experienced silence. Even the soft hiss a lot of other noise canceling headphones exhibit was imperceptible. It’s an experience I didn’t think was possible with earbuds. The Bluetooth connection was also solid and I never had any dropouts or audio/video sync issues. Though there is a perceptible audio delay playing games, it’s no worse than any other Bluetooth headset I’ve used. I was a little disappointed to learn that these don’t support the higher resolution LDAC codec like a lot of Sony’s other Bluetooth products do, but the sound quality doesn’t seem to suffer from it. Another nice feature is each earbud connects individually to your phone, so one is not a slave to the other and you can use either earbud as a regular Bluetooth earpiece (2007-style). The app does a good job of helping you manage features - there’s something called Adaptive Sound Control that’s supposed to adjust the noise cancelling and ambient sound based on what you are doing, but it didn’t work that great for me and I ended up turning it off. Each earbud has a touch-sensitive pad on it and you can set their functions with the app as well - I have the right side set to playback control and the left side set to control noise canceling, but you can also set one to call up Google Assistant. Battery has also been excellent - I haven’t been able to run them down low enough to say for sure, but the 6 hour battery life appears to be holding true for these earbuds, and that’s just off a single charge. In the end my only real concern is the lack of dust/sweat resistance. I would not consider these for any sort of intense physical activity - there are a lot better options out there for that, but the peace of mind would have been nice. I could certainly imagine dropping these in a puddle or dirt by accident and would hate to see them ruined in a moment of clumsiness. But it’s only because of how much I love these that I worry about something happening to them. These are far from the least expensive earbuds out there, but the sound quality and noise canceling alone more than justifies the price.

These might just be the best headphones I have ever tried! I will start with the negatives just to get that out of the way. Cons: - I am not a huge fan of the Gold/black style, I would have preferred all black. The charger is a little large, not ideal for carrying in a pocket all day An IP rating would have been nice OK, now that that’s out of the way, I can praise these headphones. Unboxing: The unit has documentation, the charging case, the buds, a USB-C cable and 12 earbud tips. The earbud tips are pretty cool because you get two types, one set is a soft silicon and the other is a more grippy rubber feel. Each type has three different sizes. Setup: I used this with a Samsung S10. After charging which took a few hours, I took the ear buds out of the case and paired it with my phone with was fairly seamless. You can also pair using NFC on the case if wished for Android. You can download the associated app for additional control if wished. This will allow for some profiles to be set up on the phone. Use: These headphones are comfy! They are a little on the larger side but the majority of the unit is held outside of you ears so you should not see discomfort in your ear canal. I have only had two days to play with it but you can control the unit with touch controls on each ear bud. The left side controls noise cancelling / ambient sound. The right side contains call controls. My favorite feature is one you see on the Airpods, each unit will work independently of the other. So if you only want to wear the unit on your left ear, then leave the right one in the case or go with the right earbud! According to the site, each earbud gets it’s input individually as opposed to some wireless buds which will send it to the right one which then relays it to the left one for example. These both get their own stream at each time. The advantage of this is latency, you will see very little if any delay when watching videos. Audio quality is amazing! Not only is the noise cancelling feature outstanding, but they just sound good! They have that signature Sony megabasey (that a word?) feel to them and it was easy to pull out details in the music. I listen to a lot of emo, alt, country and EDM and each sounded wonderful. Battery life has been great so far and I have not had to recharge out of necessity, I just make sure to plug in the charger each night. The unit supports SBC and AAC so I do not for-see any HD audio here but it still sounds amazing. Go buy these earbuds, now!

The Sony WF-1000XM3 true wireless earbuds are remarkably stylish and deliver great sound and remarkable noise cancelling. As soon as you open the box, you can see that Sony put a great deal of thought into the design of these earbuds. They have a very sleek, stylish look, and although they are larger than I was expecting, they are comfortable to wear and the thin design keeps them from protruding too far from the sides of your head. With the inclusion of seven different sizes/styles of earbud tips, it's possible to get a nice snug fit, that keeps the earbuds securely in your ear and provides for good noise isolation. The charging/storage case has a weighty, premium feel to it, and the magnets that hold the earbuds in place for charging/storage are a nice change from the clip-in mechanisms I've seen used in other brands. I paired these with my phone and was surprised at how well the noise cancellation worked. It's not as good as you'd expect from over-the-ear noise cancelling headphones, but it was still remarkable. The sound quality when listening to music or videos is great; crisp and dynamic with good bass response. Similarly when using the phone for calls, the sound is clear, and the person on the other end had no trouble hearing and understanding me. So far I haven't had any issues with lag or disconnects while streaming content. I have another pair of true wireless earbuds where the sound in one will occasionally cut out for a second or two... not so with the Sonys. Controls for the earbuds took me a bit to get used to. There are no physical buttons, but instead a small control point on each, so it took me a while to adjust to them because the control point on each is rather small. The left earbud controls noise cancelling and the Ambient Sound mode, and the right earbud controls playback. The odd thing, and my only complaint with these earbuds so far, is that there is no volume control. I'm not sure how Sony would handle that without an actual button or a larger control point, but I find the absence of that one control annoying. Overall, I think these earbuds are very nice, even with the absence of volume control; they produce great sound, have incredible noise cancellation, and they're comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. I would definitely recommend these if you're in the market for a premium set of true wireless earbuds.

I received these earbuds to give an ‘initial thoughts’ review on this new Sony Portable Audio device. Let’s start with Aesthetics: they are on the large side and aren’t meant for a kids head. The charging case is also pretty big, to accommodate the larger-sized buds. I’m not sure these will be as easy to just throw in my pocket, as my Jabras are. Speaking of the case … magnets. Magnets to pull in and hold in the earbuds, as well as keeping the lid shut. The angle of the earbuds in the slots, can sometimes inhibit your ability to easily remove the earbuds, unless you have small fingers; I had a hard time, sometimes. The case is also a fingerprint “magnet” - I had to wipe it clean before taking a picture to attach to this review as my prints were quite clear. The case also uses USB-C to recharge -which is GREAT, as just about everything is going that way & carrying around a micro-USB cable is annoying. Pairing the buds was simple. Whether you wanted to just pair them the old fashioned Bluetooth way, or via the Headphones app, it works without a hitch. To attach them to another device, just hold both sensors for 7 seconds and you’ll hear “pairing mode” through one ear. Feature set time. There is no audio control. What? They took a page out of the Apple playbook and force you to talk to your headset. Coming from the Jabra Elite 65t where you can control the volume on the earbud, I was really at a loss here. I’m not digging the fact that I’ll have to bumble for my phone to raise/lower the sound. There are no buttons, there are contact spots that allow you to toggle any number of options. While adjusting them, I found myself activating the button because it’s based on tough, not button press. At times I was activating the Google Assistant, toggling noise cancellation / ambient sound control or playback control. Those can all be manipulated via the Smart Phone app: “Headphones” -- to set which feature you want on which side. HOWEVER -- if you switch devices to provide audio (and one doesn’t have the Headphones App, the settings don’t consistently stay applied; if you use your phone to set the right earbud for audio control (pause, for example) and you attach them to your Chromebook -- a single tap on the corresponding earbud - *does not* pause the audio in my experiences. Noise cancellation is pretty good. You can “feel” it happening, especially when switching from Ambient mode. I wish the Ambient mode allowed a bit more of the outside noise into my ears, as I’m accustomed to a decent pass-through set of earbuds. The noise cancellation is enough to help you drown out life and office sounds allowing you to focus on the task at hand. However the battery life is … meh. They were comfortable to wear for the ~ 5 hours that the battery lasted. This was not the case for my Jabras, those hurt my ear after an hour or so. Button pressing does have an impact on battery life; I used my left ear the most to mess with noise cancellation/ambient - and that one alerted me to ‘low battery’ before the right one did; it was confirmed with the App that one was ~ 20% lower than the other. Would I recommend these? Sure. The lack of volume control lost a star for me -- only because I've used wire-free earbuds with them in the past -- so it may not be a big deal for you, if you've never had it in the first place!

I got a pair of these a few days ago and they are easily the best ear buds I've ever owned. My top priority is always quality sound and these deliver. I highly recommend downloading the Sony Headphone app, it has numerous settings you can change including an EQ; I love the "Excited" setting because of the clean highs and the deep base it provides. I've been using these ear buds A LOT over the past few days, not sure how many hours, but they are still fully charged and I have not had to re-charge the case yet. Speaking of the case, very classy looking and I love how there are magnets in it to keep the ear buds in place. A cool feature I use quite often is when my wife wants to tell me something, a simple tap on the left bud stops and re-starts the music. By the way, my wife loves them, too, so she'll be getting a pair for her birthday (hope she doesn't see this review :). The noise cancelling provided by these is also very impressive. I own a pair of the over-ear Sony WH-1000xm3's whose noise cancelling is second to none, in my opinion. The noise cancelling from these ear buds is not as good as the WH-1000xm3's, which for their size one would not expect, but impressive nonetheless. I've used the ear buds while mountain biking and they stay solidly in place and never drop the bluetooth connection like other headphones/earbuds I've used. Perhaps the only downside to these is that Sony does not list them as water-resistant. That may be a turn off to some but so far during my workouts I have had no issues whatsoever. To sum up, these are top-quality earbuds worth the price. Highly recommended!

why can I only connect them to one device at a time? If I'm using them to watch a movie on my laptop, and the phone rings... I have to remove the earbuds to answer my phone. Why do I need to do this on a top of the line, premium device? If I'm using them on my tablet and the phone rings... I'm sure you get the idea. Let me get my other disappointment out of the way. It's July, and it's 97 degrees out today. Hot enough that just sitting in the sun causes beads of sweat to run down my head. -- and these ear buds are not sweat resistant. Over time this may be an issue. Sure, I can forgive Sony for these not being waterproof/water-resistant -- they're not designed to take swimming. But not sweat resistant? That's a terrible oversight on what is otherwise a very premium set of wireless earbuds. Okay, I'm done complaining. Well, except there is no volume control on the earbuds. Not exactly a deal-breaker, but still.. Anyway, on to the good stuff -- and there's plenty about Sony's WF-1000XM3 ( come on Sony, how about a decent name we actually remember?) noise-canceling wireless earbuds to like. They cancel noise. Very well. Not as well as my Bose over-the-ear headphones, but more than a pair of little earbuds have a right to. Given its form factor, it's amazing these do such a great job of filtering out unwanted noise. Sound. I don't believe I've used earbuds that sound better. Certainly not at this price point. It simply embarrasses the competition. Apple and Samsung take note. And did I mention they were also noise cancelling? When it comes to battery life, the WF-1000XM3 beats rivals like the Apple AirPods (5 hours) and Sennheiser’s Momentum True Wireless (4 hours) with around 6 hours of power per charge. If you don't use noise cancelling, you can add another couple of hours of use. The attractive charging/storage case also has a quick charge mode. Plug the earbuds in for ten minutes and you’ll get another 90 minutes of music. The case itself fully charges over USB-C in about three hours. While there are many other details I could cover -- like each earbud connects separately to your device, so you don't get the delay and dropouts like with some other wireless earbuds that connect one bud to the device, then relays it to the other bud (it's weird sometimes as you hear each earbud talking to you separately). Suffice it to say Sony missed hitting it out of the park by only just a couple of feet. While none of the downsides I mentioned are deal-breakers, perfection is hard to attain, so I can't quite give it 5 stars. They sound great, they fit well (Sony even supplies you with both memory foam and silicone earbud covers), they cancel noise, offer above-average battery life, and they look classy. But most importantly, the buds sound amazing. I would not be surprised if these earbuds make the top of the list in many if not all reviews of the best wireless earbuds available.

Sony has on of the best Bluetooth headsets available in this WF-1000XM3 model. The sound quality is better than most in-ear headsets with great range of highs and lows, crisp and clear sound. No distortion at high volume levels. They’re very comfortable and fit well with the included multiple size buds. The set may not win awards for aesthetics but it’s well designed and size is perfect. They will come loose if not properly fitted. Excellent range from the phone. Unlike other headsets, this Sony WF-1000XM3 has a very helpful app (see picture) that can adjust many of the features including equalizer, ambient sounds and more. I wish Sony had included a color change for the LED indicator in the charger. It only has amber so it can’t tell when fully charged. The charger case is well designed and sturdy though larger than I like. The charger come with a short USB-C cable as many other headsets do. The only reason this headset does not make it to 5 stars is the deficient battery life. It doesn’t make it to the end of the day (3 PM) without needing to be recharged. On average use, not heavy, it prompts to be recharged when battery is low. Battery status can be checked in the app... which comes for both iOS and Android. When looking for great quality sound, design and build this headset should be first on the list. However, second place for battery life.

These feature some of the best noise cancellation of any headphones I have ever used! These are able to block out more background noise than my ANC over-ear headphones! Everywhere I wore these, the incredible noise cancellation was able to block out buses, passersby on the sidewalk, cars driving by, and engine noise on the city bus. The sound quality is what other earbuds wish they could be. Whether you're listening to lossless audio, podcasts, the radio, anything you can throw at it, it will give you top notch sound quality! The only negative is there's no stated water and sweat resistance but, in my experience with them, they can hold up during a run on a humid, 90 degree day and keep on ticking! The ambient sound mode works perfectly, allowing you to keep the earbuds securely in place while holding a conversation with someone and allowing you to quickly hear the surrounding noise by covering the touch pad on the left bud. The fit and security in your ear is snug and tight, leaving no worries about them falling out. The battery life is incredible and the magnetic system in the carry case keep the buds securely in place while charging. Lastly, the Sony Connect app is a must have, allowing you to control different setting and select varying sound modes to suit your tastes while also showing the batter life of each earbud!

This is my 1st ever pair of Noise cancelling headphones. All I can say is WOW! Sony knocked these out of the park, they sound incredible for truely wireless Ill call em ear dongles, as theyre profile is large. Especially compared to other brand true wireless ear buds I have. The noise cancelling works well and seems to adjust on the fly, when your surroundings go from quiet to any kind of surrounding noise. Which imo can be annoying as the sound cuts out when the noise cancelling engages and dis engages. Through the Sony App, these have Many adjustable settings, from EQ, to noise cancelling ON/OFF, and adjustable increments of noise cancelling. These also can be updated via allowable firmware upgrades through the Sony App as well. Ive had these on and in ear since they arrived 7 hrs ago, and battery life is great on one full charge via the 6" usb-c cable. I was amazed how well the noise cancelling worked. I played my 6- piece acoustic drum set to see just how well the Cancelling of noise worked. To my surprise, these XM3s nearly removed all sound coming from my kit and cymbals, and theres nothing quiet about them. Impressive... Google Assistant works well and is fully functional on these also, I used the feature to adjust my thermostat, and turn on a few lights in and around the house. Also the side touch areas respond almost to well to Pause, Resume, as well as engage Google Assistant, and turn the Voume Up and Down. My only complaint is I recieved them in Black vs Silver, so not much of a complaint! As my S10+ is white, would of mated better. Honestly though my one true gripe is these have a large profile dangling out of your ear. Other than that these are Awesome.

Let's start with the wow: The noise canceling is very good for a wireless, in-ear bud. It definitely rivals some of the best, padded, over-the-ear muffs. The first time I put them in was in the family room for a test with the TV running through our speaker system. The buds probably cut the TV noise by 60% or more. My wife was 5' away trying to talk to me and I kept asking "what? what?!?"...and all this just with the earbuds on and in my ear--I wasn't listening to music or anything! Turn the music on and I had no clue the TV was on and people were talking in the same room. One of the most convenient features of these buds is the option to cup your hand over your left bud to temporarily turn off the noise cancellation so you can hear the things happening around you. No need to take the bud out of your ear, just cover your ear for a second or two...then tap the bud to turn everything back on. Very convenient! We are a Google smart family, so having the Google Assistant built in is nice too. All you have to do is activate the device with your phone at setup then you can "OK Google" until your heart is content. Audio quality with these buds is good. There is a nice balance although a little mid-range heavy. With some tweaking it is possible to bring some bass and treble forward but doing nothing to the default settings still produces clear, pleasant sound. I listen to pretty much everything except showtunes, opera and country western. My go to artists for a new pair of headphones include Pearl Jam, Twenty-one Pilots, Metallica, REM and Dr. Dre. All sound good be default...but the modern rock and hip hop benefit the most from an EQ tweak. EQ and all other settings can be controlled by the Sony Headphone app. These buds are also "motion sensitive." If you take them out, music pauses. As mentioned previously, cup your ear and audio and noise canceling pauses without having to take the buds out. I am used to 10+ hours of play with over-the-ear headphones so I was disappointed when I saw these are rated at only 6 hrs with noise canceling (4 hours if used primarily for communication, up to 24 hours of life if you disable noise cancellation). It turns out, however, that this is actually better then the competition. Full charge time is 90 minutes with a quick charge option of 10 minutes for 1.5 hours of use. The stylish storage case is used to charge/store the ear buds. They utilize USB-C (a cable is included in the packaging). There is no wall plug, but there are several different sized rubber tips to select from to get the most comfortable fit. I wish the tips were "ribbed" to help ensure a snug fit. Nonetheless, buds feel well balanced and snug in the ear, unlike some others that feel like they are going to fall out after a couple minutes of wearing. Surprisingly, these are NOT water/sweatproof rated. I suspect that they will fall out if you get sweaty because there is no "hook" or "catch" system with these buds to help hold them to your ear...but again, they seem to be weighted well enough to stay put in a non-physical use environment. Overall, great noise cancelling, great motion and Google Assistant options. Very good audio quality with options to tweak to your preference. Decent battery life. Stylish. If you want a quality, in-ear noise canceling bud, these will likely make you happy!

Some say that the Sony WF-1000MX3s are the best true wireless earbuds you can get in this price range, and I absolutely agree with them. Having purchased the AirPod Pros prior to the XM3s, I've come to realize what the XM3s do best, and I believe they deserve more credit and popularity. Sound Quality: 5/5 - Amazing clarity right out of the box. Mids don't sound muddy and highs don't penetrate your ears. Bass can be increased or decreased through the app which is great. It is referred to as "Clear Bass" by Sony. You can either increase or decrease it by 10, or you can leave it at 0. - Equalizer in the app with presets. Battery: 5/5 - 6 hours of listening time with ANC on which is more than what the competition offers (AirPod Pros gives you 4.5 hours with ANC on). - 8 hours of listening time with ANC off. - 10 minutes in the case gives you 90 minutes of playtime. - Comes with a USB Type-C cable. - Case fully charges in about 3.5 hours. Design: 4.5/5 - Earphones look like miniature bluetooth headsets. - Bulkier design than the AirPod Pros. - Unique to Sony. - Case is bigger compared to AirPod cases. - Despite being bulkier overall, these earphones are still well worth the performance. The performance outweighs the bulky design. Not a deal breaker at all. If they were to release a newer version of the MX3s while keeping the bulky design, I would still buy them for how they perform. Comfort: 5/5 - Many sizes and two different types of tips to choose from (comfort foam vs. hybrid silicone). - Snug fit in your ear; make sure you insert vertically then twist backwards to ensure a good fit. - Doesn't hurt my ears after a long time of listening. - Fits a lot better in my ears in comparison to AirPod Pros. Actually feels like the seal will stick. Features and Noise Cancelling: 5/5 - The Sony Headphones Connect app offers a ton of customizability. You can adjust how much ambient sound you want and there's even an option to focus on voices when ambient sound is enabled. Ambient sound can be adjusted from 1 to 20. - There's a wind noise reduction mode. If you're sitting in front of a fan and the wind is bothering you, this mode will eliminate all wind noise. It's pretty cool. I've yet to test it outside on a windy day. - Noise cancelling is slightly better than the AirPod Pros. My fan is a bit noisy and the MX3s cancel it out slightly better than my Pros. I've yet to compare how the MX3s cancel out conversation. - Touch controls out of the box: left earbud controls NC/ambient sound while the right earbud controls music playback. A single tap on the left earbud will toggle the sound control, and there are 3 modes to cycle through. Tap and hold for "quick attention" which basically activates the ambient sound mode at level 20 as long as your finger is held on your earbud. Right earbud is 1 tap to pause, 2 taps for next, 3 for previous. Tap and hold to activate voice assistant. Keep in mind that you can also change which earbud does what, and there are volume controls! Tap to raise, hold to lower. - You can actually toggle whether you want your earphones to pause when you take them out. I hate how AirPods only allow you to either enable or disable the automatic ear detection setting. I want to disable the pausing feature while keeping the ear detection setting on. Sony allows you to do this. To clarify, I'm not sure if there is an ear detection setting on the XM3s. Pairing/Refinement: 4/5 - Let me start off by saying that the AirPods offer a much more seamless pairing experience, but regardless of that fact it should not turn your head away from considering the Sony WF-1000MX3s. - Once you get past the pairing process, the MX3s are seriously a great pair of wireless earbuds. - It hurts me to be objective here, but coming from both the 2nd gen and AirPod Pros the XM3s are not as refined. XM3s will have these brief pauses in your music during activity on your smartphone such as going in and out of the Sony app or just using your phone while you're listening to music (I primarily use my earphones to listen to music on my phone). There are also occasional pauses here and there. When using AirPods I hardly ever experienced any brief interruptions, and the pairing experience was foolproof. The app is also a bit clunky but as I once said, this is not a deal breaker. It is simply the difference between Apple and the competition. Got to give credit to Apple for how well they refine their software and hardware. It's always been this way. Since I've already covered what I could, I do want to mention that it makes me sad how popular AirPods are. If you look at how many reviews there are on Apple products vs. the competition, you'll see what I mean. You also just see Apple products everywhere you go. The Sony WF-1000MX3s are seriously a great option to consider and I feel like they deserve more credit. If I could go back in time, I think I would've chose the XM3s over the Pros, but for better or worse I'm stuck with both.

I go to the gym several times a week, and these are fantastic. Sounds quality is what I know it would be, because this is not my first set of Sony Headphones or earbuds. These feel great in the ear, and cancels out noise with ease. Only downside I could find was remembering all of taps and commands to use them. Battery life good, but the case is a little on the BIG side compared to my other wireless earbud cases. These are solid, and I'd highly recommend them to just about anyone.

Overall I enjoyed the earphones but there were some drawbacks. The enjoyed the stunning sound quality and the deep base from these earphones. The battery life was good and rarely in the months that I had them did they died off. The touch buttons on both earphones were useful but often found myself accidentally hitting them which would ruin the emergence of whatever I was watching. The call quality is amazing never had any issues with people not hearing me clearly. The 7 different ear pieces is another great addition and the charger case is well constructed. The biggest cons for these earphones is that they collect dirt very quickly and are somewhat hard to clean. Also due to their large size it makes them hard to use when doing intense movements and forget about using them in the gym. As this model gets older and the price drops, these earphones are a must have for yourself or as a gift.

Very poor quality! After a month's usage, the left bud stops working! I cannot pair it to any devices!!! When the left bud is charging inside the charging case, the red LED light of the left ear bud keeps blinking and the red light is much dimmer than the right!

Build 5/5 The quality and finish of these earbuds are definitely 5/5. Sleek cool looking and they don’t look like others. Sound quality 4/5: If you are not an audiophile or kinda an audiophile AAC/SBC do good exceptionally well. CD Quality music sound amazing when coupled with the right equipment. If you don’t know much about codecs and bit rates look it up and understand these headphones do not support LDAC (Sony) or APtX HD (Qualcomm). But hey what are the chances you are going to have... True loseless audio files being streamed to you at a near perfect quiet environment while also not ever moving your head to make sure everything is perfect to get that experience, it’s not common and usually expensive... I digress. Side note Noise cancellation on earbuds? Pfff I never thought I wanted this but er mah gurrr. Nice feat blocks out 90% of your environment. Connectivity 4.5/5: If you think bluetooth or any Wireles technology is perfect or will ever be perfect go back to vinyl. Jk. So we are finally at the point where bluetooth 5.0 can be equivalent to the sound quality we listen at wired.... but the all changes when we here blips cut outs and drop outs. So I have not had MAJOR issues regarding connections or blips or cut outs. Latency is near non existent (I literally cannot tell but I know when lips don’t sync to the audio and these headphones do n have that issue). On Windows, occasionally, a blip will happen, almost guaranteed once an hour, this is acceptable to me. Phones? Nah unless I put a slab of meat between my phone and earbud (rare scenarios, but connections hold very well). Fit 3.5/5: Listen if your playing basketball your working hard core... why do you need hi fidelity music? These headphones do not provide hi fi so don’t expect that. Also.... even if they did. You’re in the zone. Just like glasses or other apparel things move. Don’t expect this to be engrained. They sure as well stick and sit well. All you have to do is master the twist and push and you’re good. They give you a variety of buds to choose from I’m sure one will fit if not just pick up some custom or better buds. This is why earbuds suck anyways. Over 1 or 2 hours.... these things feel comfy. My ears have been conditioned and I do not notice them. There are a few things I did not go into like battery, features, and and water resistant ipx rating. Battery is great electronic need charging period 6hours without the fancy stuff in is good the case is a decent size. ANC and NC great to have and work well. App is mediocre but works no big whoop. IPX.....listen electronics and moisture or water just don’t go well. If you’re trying to make these an all round go gym walk through town hot environment or rainy environment these won’t guarantee you that they will survive. But... they do hold up so buyer beware with excessive gym use. If you want to do Exercise things and have high quality music like loseless more power to you these aren’t it. But sometimes I fall into the non average consumer and products do not appeal to me. For the Average consumer! These are phenomenal. Use coupons and try to get these at 200$ or less. They are with the money. And guess what. Earbuds will eventually be replaced. But in the mean time 200$ Will be worth your experience for the next few years till you get a new set. So enjoy.
