I am a headphones enthusiast!! I have a couple dozen pairs of differing quality, cost, and purpose and let me say these are my favorites! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THESE HEADPHONES!!! Everything about them is seamless! They connect to your phone (and each other) easily and without hassle every time (after the first time), they don't cut out when you get a wall or 2 between you and your phone, they are noise-cancelling for when people are annoying and let in ambient sound for when you don't want to be hit by a car, the sound quality is incredible for being truly wireless headphones, and the battery life is excellent (again for being truly wireless). My only 2 complaints: I have tiny ears and these are pretty big (in comparison) so I can never seem to get them to stay in properly... I tried the smallest rubber thing and then I thought that was maybe too small and tried the bigger but they fall out if I'm moving around either way. And the self-pause when you take them out only sometimes works so I take them out and think it has paused only to miss a few minutes of my book while I had them out. That's a little annoying but I just skip back so no biggie.

Sound is great, noise cancellation is pretty good. Battery life is good. I like that I can hook them up to my apple tv. They are easy to use with my iPhone as well. However the fit for my ears is subpar. I have very small ears and I really have to wedge them in to get them to not fall out. After awhile it hurts. I have tried all the ear pieces but none make that perfect fit. I think for those of average ear size this would be a great product.

Hi MouseEars, We are happy you are enjoying your new headphones. The noise-canceling technology in the WF-1000XM3 is the most advanced ever in truly wireless headphones, with our HD Noise-Canceling Processor QN1e. And, with all-day battery life and a quick charge, they are meant to deliver a truly immersive listening experience wherever you go. To get the best noise canceling experience and more comfortable when wearing them, the earbud must sit in the ear correctly. Using the right size of earbuds, please try the following, gently pull on the top of your ear as you twist the earbud into your ear. This should give you a firmer hold and better noise canceling experience. You can also check out the tutorial in the Sony Headphones Connect App. Thank you for choosing Sony! -Vincent Sony_US

Pros: • Excellant battery life • Highly improved connection over the previous generations • Great noise cancellation for earbuds (though not as good as their own headphones) • A lot of features accompanied with the app • Great sonic performance • Good call quality • Single earbud play available • Type-c • Hot switch between devices supported Cons: • If you have small ears, you better try it before the purchase • Doesn't connect well with Windows PC (they do provided update for that so this could be fixed) • No IP Rating • Batter indicator doesn't show the exact percentage • No volume control over the earbuds • No multiple device connection Verdict: There are rooms for improvements, but it is the best in the market for the price.

The noise canceling feature is just muah.... I upgraded from sony regular earbuds which also had its own charging case. The sony WF 1000XM3 charging case has cool little LED light to let you know when they are charging. These buds are a bit more comfortable and less bulky than the previous model I recommend that they are little less expensive than others. Purchased these for others as Christmas gifts too

I think these are best used with the Sony connect app--the app helps with equalizer settings so you can fine tune to your musical preferences. I listen to a lot of acoustic and classical, but also have an extensive collection of classic rock/blues...the app has good settings for that, and the noise cancellation is outstanding for earbuds, not as isolating though as over-ear headphones. Battery life is good, remember to turn up the volume on your phone or tablet/PC because the app by itself is pretty weak at higher volumes. These come with a lot of tips for fitting to your ears, take your time with these and find the best combination to really get a good seal in your ear, even using two different sizes, because your ears aren't usually identical anyway. A good seal will help a lot with the bass strength. Probably not the best bass anyway for hip hop or if you are a dubstep fan, I don't think the drivers are big enough for that. Remember, there is a 'zero' rating for water/sweat resistance, so don't make an expensive mistake.

I wish I didn't have to give this review. I liked almost everything about these headphones. The noise cancelling was good, the sound quality was good, the size and portability and battery life were good, but they just become too painful too soon for me to keep them. After about an hour my ears hurt, and the inside of my ears also became very itchy. And I don't think it was the due to my choice of ear tips. I tried using the extra small tips, but it's the actual shape of hardware that was pressing against my tragus in particular. My ear canals weren't bothered. I'm in a rough place because over-ear or on-ear headphones hurt because I have a fussy industrial piercing that not only ruins the seal, but also hurts. So I have to go with in-ear. Besides the pain, there were other cons like fairly unintuitive controls. I think it might be better with more buttons, but there's only so many buttons that can be put on headphones like these. I was also annoyed that with these controls, I couldn't do all I wanted. Ideally I would have ambient sound control, volume, and track selection, but you can only choose two of those with these headphones. I also wish it had a fin to hold it in tighter; they weren't as secure as I'd like when working out.

I was pleasantly surprised at how good the noise cancelling feature is. The charge lasts a really long time and they’re great for everyday use. I bought them for skateboarding because I got tired of sweating on over the ear headphones, which I generally prefer, but I can’t use them for that. They fall out constantly, so I stopped using them for the most part.

These in-ear headphones offer excellent sound and excellent noise cancellation. They are easy to pair and the app is good for tuning the sound. Range seems to be comparable to similar Bluetooth devices and battery life is as advertised. My only criticism is that much of the headphone’s weight is hanging outside of the ear. This causes them to fall out easily if not fitted well inside the ear.

Currently the best wireless earbuds on the market!

Overall, these are currently the best wireless earbuds on the market. They have some flaws, but overall this is definitely a cut above the rest. Positives: 1 - Quality Construction - They feel well constructed and solid. 2 - Nice Aesthetic - While of course subjective, the understated, yet professional look is welcome. 3 - Noise Cancelling - While not quite at the level as their larger over the ear sibling, the noise cancelling is excellent. Unwanted sounds fade away leaving you to enjoy your music, podcast or audio book. 4 - Strong Connection - Each earbud establishes an independent connection to the device. I have not encounter any drops in signal even when approaching the limits of Bluetooth signal strength. 5 - Sound Quality - The best way to describe this is the sound is a complete experience. The overall full and rich sound quality is a step above what I experienced on other earbuds. I was pleasantly surprised by the bass. To maximize the experience you must ensure you find the appropriate fit of which Sony provides numerous tips in different sizes. Negatives: While many of these have been covered by professional and customer reviews, they are indeed present and valid. 1 - Lack of an IP rating for water and dust resistance - While I'm certain these would hold up find to minimal exposure, given the use cases for earbuds, this is something Sony should have secured especially for the cost. 2 - Inability to connect to two devices simultaneously - This won't impact everyone, but it is convenient to be able to connect to multiple devices at once. You may be listening to music on your phone but want to watch a movie on your laptop. While the burden is not tremendous to pair them to a new devices, this is something that is provided by other competitors and should have been included. 3 - Lack of volume control on the touch sensitive interface - Again, not the end of the world, but this is a simple fix. You may have your phone stored in your bag while on your commute or simply don't want to take it out of your pocket every time you want to adjust the volume. Hopefully this is something Sony can rectify in a firmware update. 4 - Lack of wireless charging on the case - While minor, this is a convenient feature given the prevalence of wireless charging. Its something competitors offer and would be nice here. Recommendation? If you are in the market for ear buds, these should be on your short list. Sony has produced an excellent foundation that they can iterate on for years to come. I'd imagine the second generation of these will improve upon many of the negatives noted above. That being said, the negatives shouldn't hold you back from purchasing these as they are an all around winner.

These are easy to pair. Had success 1st try. The sound quality is great. Plenty of oomph for such a small thing. Noise cancelling was very impressive. I've worn them twice while mowing my yard and these block the mower noise quite a bit. Had zero problem hearing my music over the mower. Just be sure to size the exchangeable rubber earbuds for a tight fit in your ear canal. The pre-installed ones that came with it were too small for me, and allowed too much noise thru. I installed the largest earbuds and that created a tight seal and no more noise leaking. Includes several earbud sizes, so your size should be included. The app is easy to use and while not a game changer, it's a nice option. I haven't used these for jogging, so I can't comment on how well they stay in your ears during exercise, but they have stayed in my ears just fine while mowing and gardening. The charging case is very nicely designed. Secures the buds while providing a quick charge. It's good looking too. The only reason I took a star off is that these are not sweat or water resistant. For the high end product that these are, that is disappointing and a big miss by Sony. Rubber winglets to offer better hold in your ears would have been nice as well.

I bought this a year ago just in time for an overseas trip. It kept me company during long train rides and the noise cancelling is amazing. It's a bit uncomfortable (I have small ears and the device is quite bigger than other true wireless earbud models) but you'll get used to it. They stayed put and it definitely delivered on the long play time.

I love the fit of these personally, to me they fit better than all others I've had (airpod pros, galaxy buds live and plus, Jabra 75t, powerbeats). The sound quality is amazing, I was able to tune the EQ using the Sony app, it really is much better than the competition, although I would say the 75t's have better bass, but not a better overall soundstage. I would say the ANC is good, for earbuds, but not as good as Airpod Pro's. When listening at home, or getting on a plane, these are my go to, but they are not the best daily drivers because of the size of the case. I also wish that at this price point they should have wireless charging, but Type C is a plus at least. In my opinion, they are worth the $229 price tag, but they go on sale often (I paid $179), and at that price, they are a bargain!

These headphones are great. They feel good in your ear, the sound quality is good, charge time is good, use time is good, and the black and gold look is wonderful. The only downfall is the connectivity. Sometimes I get a static or disconnect if the phone is in my pants pocket or not exactly near the headphones. Other than that, I like these headphones.

Solid - have been a Bose Soundsport guy for a few years and was hesitant to jump. Bose have amazing sound but super annoying hyper sensitive mic's - everyone I talk to complains about the loud noises they hear (which are things like birds cawing 3000 ft away from me) These sound even better - solid low end (EDM fan) and a very balanced mid and top end (also a guitar fan). Only compaint is that they get a little uncomfortable after a few hours (Bose are better that way) and they sometimes fall out becuase they arent far enough down my ear canal. Dont mind the lack of waterproof becuase I still have the Bose and use them for workouts (although that is a silly oversight by Sony)

    Unreliable, misfitting expensive buds

Connectivity: 3/5 On iPhone X these buds have poor connectivity. My AirPods have never lost connection, no matter what. Sony buds are losing connection consistently in heavy interference areas and occasionally in open field. Noise reduction: 3/5 Very disappointed as this was primary feature I was looking for in these buds. On airplane they suppress only low frequency engine noise, allowing mid frequency noises as well as any conversations in. Frankly, they did not perform any better then regular noise plugs, and far worse then almost any over ear headphones. In open field these buds have tendency to pick up and amplify wind noise, so in windy conditions they are unbearable. Fit: 2/5 I tried all combinations of supplied ear tips. No matter what, the moment I start walking and pick up some sweat, these buds fall out of my ears. They don’t have any support in ear and need to be adjusted constantly while walking. Jogging with them is completely out of question. Sound: 4/5 Good sound reproduction across all the frequencies. They are let down by very narrow sound stage. Yes, any buds would suffer from reduced sound stage, but it should be mentioned. Any cheap over ear headphones would destroy these buds in sound quality. Battery life: 4/5 Great battery life and very quick to charge when discharged. My only complain is that charging dock has no indicators to see how much charge it still has and even Sony app does not show dock battery status Reliability: 1/5 After less then two weeks the dock stopped charging my buds. At first I thought that it was discharged, but even after leaving it charging from the power source overnight, I still had discharged buds. Very disappointing. RETURNED TO STORE.
