While I would not suggest these if you are looking for headphones at the gym. I can attest to their sound quality and durability. I work 6 days a week 10+ hour days on a horse farm and these headphones have been my best friend through the worst of it. Dropped in dirt, poop, shallow puddles, sawdust you name it- and they survived. Continuously dropped on concrete with little to no noticeable wear. For over two years. Sure they fall out of my ears some times when I’m running or make dramatic movements. But especially now, the sound quality, clearness of bass with the known durability- worth every penny. Also quite comfortable for long stretches of time.

EXCELLENT quality sound from these earbuds and when using on iPhone. An AirPods competitor in my opinion when it comes to quality and battery life. Nice portable case that has a fancy look to it with it's copper gold coating.

These earphones are very stylish and the material and construction come together with a very good fit and finish. The included silicone and foam tips offer a decent selection for sizing. Battery life is fantastic as advertised. The sound quality is also very good and in line for something at this price point. The touch controls offer limited but usable control for the earphones. However no volume toggle is kind of a hassle. The active noise cancellation feature works better than expected and can easily block out 80 percent of background noise while at a restaurant or coffee shop for listening. Ambient sound mode is handy outdoors in a urban settings for safety so you can hear what is happening around you. So far these should check off everything when it comes to listening however the one place where it falls short is phone calls.... Unless you are in a quite environment under 60 decibels of background noise, the mics will not be able to pick up your voice correctly and when it does you will sound robotic/low bitrate like. It appears the software tends to pick up most mid range sounds regardless if it’s your voice or background noise. For the price point this should really not be an issue but it is. If you are considering these and want to be able to take phone calls out in public places with noise around you these will be pretty much unusable. Considering returning since they just dropped the price of Powerbeats pro below the price of these. While those are lacking ANC And the case is kinda big they can take calls far better. I really loved these until it became apparent mic call quality was terrible. I don’t know if Sony can fix this in software in the future.

Great sound. Pretty much automatic operation. Excellent battery life. Very comfortable. Top quality noise suppression. Unfortunately the controls are not intuitive or consistent. No volume control and pressure variation gives different results. Not a deal breaker but a disappointment. Fix that and you have the best wireless ear pieces available.

These have become daily-use, go-everywhere, set of headphones. The battery life is great and the portable charging case helps get through several days of high use without any issues. The fit is snug and comfy, and you get a selection of different ear tips to choose from to choose from, so it should be easy to find something that works for you. The noise cancelling is so awesome, I'd turn it on and all the crying airplane babies, annoying upstairs neighbors, and loud coworkers literally disappear. It's amazing. Worth every dollar. Some notes, the fit is generally snug enough to run/exercise with, but if you start sweating they can get a little loose. They're also a bit expensive to risk using in the gym imo, so I have a cheaper pair for that.

Sony has continued to push out updates for the companion app and has been quick to fix any bugs. I chose these over the over-the- ear option because they are a great size for traveling and fit better in an office environment. Make sure to spend the time to find the right fitting earbud tips out of the package as this will play a significant role in the sounds quality, noise cancellation, and fit within your ear. The companion app I have installed on my phone makes all the difference when comparing to other noise cancelling earbud options. The app comes packed with features and customizability for things such as the equalizer and tap controls on the earbuds themselves. I did extensive research before purchasing these and highly recommend to anyone that prioritizes sound quality and features over “style”. My only main complaint is that I cannot wear these with confidence when working out because these are not marketed by Sony as sweat or water resistant and they do not have any sort of loop system similar to the newer Powerbeats Pro.

Can't rave about these enough. They sound great, the noise cancelling is awesome, and great battery life -- The case keeps the charged for days of moderate use. A couple pain points though: the case is huge. I have pretty big pockets so I don't mind, but I could see someone having to keep them in a bag which is a bit inconvenient. Another issue is that the touch controls are almost too responsive. Just brushing the headphone can stop music or wake the Google assistant. I also had a problem where it wouldn't pair to my phone and had to reset it to pairing mode. That wouldn't be so much of a pain if they had included the somewhat bizarre way of putting it into pairing mode in the instructions (or even in the device FAQ on their site). Other than that, couldn't be happier!

Went with the previous model due to best selection of options when you have very small ear canals. Dovetails well with the app I already had for my Sony over ear wireless headset. Noise cancelling is very good and sound/mike quality for calls is excellent.

The Sony WF-1000XM3 are very good at canceling office noise and AC. Battery last around 6 hrs, changing them is a breeze. Sound quality is pretty good even more if you are going to compare them with AirPods. The over-ear still sound a whole lot better but just for convenience alone this take the prize. I’ll not recommend them for working out, they’re comfortable but my not hold all the moving around or sweat for that matter. Great if you are looking for some quite time and great music quality. Review is when paired with iPhone AAC, no lag at all when viewing videos and they connect like 4 seconds slower than the AirPods but same behavior if you like how the AirPods work with iPhone. No easy way to know how much charge still left in the case, that would be my main downside.

Received and returned these today. Heard what I perceived as very slight “Tearing” noises at a medium volume - so slight I wasn’t sure if I was actually hearing anything. In testing wearing individual buds, I noticed that the right bud didn’t have the same fullness, loudness and bass as the left bud. Searched Google for the issue and Sony’s website popped up with an answer for the exact question. A: ‘Choose an earbud gel that fits snuggly.’ I figured what the heck, I’ll give it a shot - maybe it wasn’t fully seated in my ear. Put another tip on the right and after that, the sound never returned on the right bud. That being said, when wearing the left bud alone or both, the sound blew my Jabra Elite 65t’s out of the water - fuller sound with a wider range and deep bass. Actually very impressive bass for buds! ..on the working one. The touch controls worked pretty well but the left ear bud hung up for a second a few times when trying to switch between noise cancelling on/off. It would be great and highly convenient if they let you change the volume but oh well. It’s nice being able to just tap/hover over them unlike the 65t’s where you have to click on a rigid, loud mechanical button. Can’t comment much on the noise cancelling when the right bud wasn’t doing much, if anything. The left seemed to be working some sort of magic. The case is awesome with the magnets to hold both the lid and earbuds down. Fits in my front jean pockets easily. They connected pretty quickly to my phone and paused/played without a hitch when removing one of the buds from my ears. I was really impressed and so disappointed at the same time. I’ll definitely reorder but not sure if I’ll buy now or wait a couple months for issues to be ironed out. I kind of want to get an extended warranty on the next order too - maybe something with accidental damage protection (if that exists for buds) since these can’t handle any water.

The Sony wireless-in ear headphones have great sound following minor equalizer adjustments and the selection of adequate ear tips (Comply Truegrip Pro) for best noise isolation. They sit comfortably on the ear requiring minor adjustments from time to time, for position correction. The android app is excellent and easy to use and battery life is also very good (>30 hrs). I recommend switching off the Adaptive Sound Control as sometimes is frequently changing the ambient-sound profiles which can be bothersome. Finally, for the current cost of the unit now that the MX4 are out, they are a steal!

Pros: - Sound quality is phenomenal, everything i listen to on them from live music, to shows, to regular music sounds incredible - descent range of distance in which they will continue to work Cons: Things I did not anticipate being a problem: - you have to disconnect from whatever source it is connected to before you can connect to another source. E.g. they were connected to my laptop. I logged off and closed my laptop but could not connect to my phone until I opened my laptop and disconnected them manually. I tried to put them back in the case and take them out to see if that would work before hand but it doesn’t. (These were both Apple products) - in spite of the 6 different sets of ear pieces that come with it I had difficulty getting them to stay in and get a good seal - the noise cancelling is not as good as it is with the AirPod Pros, but this may be due to poor fit of ear pieces as well (see above)

The overall quality of these Sony earbuds are amazing! Great noise cancellation, rich sound, best bass for the size and elegant looking. I own the over ear version of these and when comparing them together sound quality was still perfect. Easy to setup and easy to use, just have to get used to the controls. -4 star reason The earbuds were great and would’ve been my preferred choice to keep forever. But since I’m a smaller individual (5ft 5in) my ear canals were not deep enough to hold these buds in. The weight for the amazing components were a bit much and one good shake or a few gentle ones they’d fall out. I tried every tip in the box, I’d get a good seal but they’d fall out. Overall If they offered a hook style ear tip I’d buy them again. All around great quality, and I didn’t notice any latency. I tested these earbuds in my iPhone 11 Pro Max with a couple songs, short YouTube video, a couple minutes of Netflix/Hulu/AT&T TV etc... Specifically checking for latency and sound quality. Sounds were nicely balanced and no noticeable latency.

The noise cancelling on these earbuds is pretty dang good. The options are endless through the sony app, and the customizability is very nice. However, I ended up returning them and getting Airpod Pros for a variety of reasons. My main concern with these was that the process of updating the firmware was buggy, very long, and crashed multiple times. However, from what I've read online, I seem to be an outlier, so I won't let it affect my review too much. The main complaints I have with the earbuds themselves are the huge case, the huge earbuds, and the bad transparency mode. The case is enormous. It's way too large to fit in a pocket with anything else. The earbuds themselves are also really large and clunky. It's hard to get comfortable with them if you rest your head against anything. The transparency mode is also not good, especially when compared against the AirPods Pro. It's much more muffled and tinny sounding.

The WF-1000XM3 from Sony are without a doubt nothing short of amazing. The sound is pure and totally customizable with the Sony Headphones app. The ANC surpassed my expectations for in ear headphones. The fit and comfort is top notch once you take the time to select the right tips. Now for the downsides. There is no documented IP rating so I certainly would not recommend for work outs or outdoor activities that may expose them to the elements. The case is fairly large. If you are looking for a case that will fit in your jeans pocket you should probably look elsewhere. If you are looking for top notch sound and active noise cancellation look no further.

I have had these headphones for 2 months now and really enjoy them. The noise canceling works well, not quite as good as over the ear but better then I expected. Sound quality is very good with deep bass as well as clear speech. They are very comfortable and come with plenty of ear size adapters, some foam and some rubber. Battery life is amazing, I have used them for 7 hrs straight with noise canceling activated and still had 40% remaining. Even if you do manage to kill the battery in the earpiece, the case charges them quickly. The Sony WF-1000XM3 headphones were a little expensive but in my opinion well worth the money.

Sound quality: They sound really good, as expected of sony, crystal clear audio Connectivity: Trash, a pain to even connect them in the first place considering you need an app, and to constantly update them. the deatures in the app can be pretty cool, but I rarely found myself tweakin them. Also, huge turn off that they randomly disconnect consistently, very annoying. Microphone: absolutely horrible, no one ever understood what I was saying. Always had them up to date and tried calling in good connection and low surrounding sound areas (i.e. no wind). Battery: Quickly dwindled, had decent battery life for the first month. Now, after over 6 months they barely retain battery life for any usable amount of time. Case: Very bulky, did not like having them in my pocket, uncomfortable. Build quality is decent as I've dropped the case a few times and only have cosmetic scratches. I was very excited about these when I got them, since I've had them it's been nothing but annoyance after annoyance. Definetly in the market for a different pair. 0/10 would not reccomend.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend
