The WF-1000XM3 comes with different sizes of earbuds to ensure there is a great fit for all ear sizes and an optimal noise canceling experience. Please use the right size according to the size of your ears. When wearing them, please gently pull on the top of your ear as you twist the earbud into your ear. This should give you a firmer hold and better noise canceling experience. Feel free to test them again once you're done with our suggestions.

I’m contemplating calling the manufacturer.

The available operating times of the headset with the battery fully charged are as follows:
Max. 4 hours (AAC Codec) - When Noise canceling function/Ambient Sound Mode, and DSEE HX are turned off.
Max. 7.5 hours (SBC Codec) - When Noise canceling function/Ambient Sound Mode and DSEE HX are turned off.
Note:
• By using the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app, you can check which codec is used for a connection or switch the DSEE HX function.
• Usage hours may be different depending on the settings and conditions of use.
These headphones actually feature fast charging. You will get about 90 minutes of music playback after only 10-minutes of charging. Charging of the headset and the charging case is completed in about 3.5 hours and the required time for fully charging the left/right unit of the headset is about 1.5 hours. If the charging case is fully charged, you can charge the headset about 3 times.
