great sound
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound is AMAZING for wireless. Noise cancellation is great. Not the smoothest experience with either my old android 10 phone or now iOS15. Theses arent the most comfortable and due to the weight distribution of them, they tend to dall out sometimes. Great value headphones, but will honestly say look at the newer model, the wf 1000xm4, they prob will have smoother functionality and will fit better. No matter what sony entire lineup of the wf 1000s and wh 1000s sound REALLY GOOD. I cant even listen with any other headphones, they just lack in comprison and youll miss the sound these put out for the price and quality.

Much better than my airPods and Galaxy Buds
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did a lot of research and decided for how I was going to use these wireless buds they would be my best option. The sound quality is very good but they are not loud enough. I’ve tried multiple sizes of the ear gasket things and still the same. The noise canceling is try good but not as good as all the raving reviews I read. If you are on the fence because of the size of the charging case then run the other way. That thing is terrible. It’s big and hard to carry in your pocket. I’ve reverted back to my old galaxy buds often because of the smaller case. The call quality is good and like I said the sound quality is excellent. They destroy the airPods in every aspect besides case size. Now I haven’t tried the AirPod pro.

Great Sound but Not a Great Fit
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Of course the sound quality and noise cancelling capability is outstanding. There is no question that Sony's 1000 MX3 headphones are right on par with Bose' 700 series headphones. I own the 700s as well. However, the only issue is I have a problem with the fit of these headphones. As in-ear headphone they have an issue with staying securely in my ear canals. I bought these to have a smaller form factor of noise cancelling headphones as I travel frequently for work. Hopefully there is just an adjustment period and eventually they will fit better in my ears. The mobile app for these headphones seems very robust and offers a lot of functionality. I have yet to really learn the touch capability of these headphones as well.

Great product but not perfect.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had these for some time now and I really enjoy them. They come with 7 different sets of tips total, half foam and half rubber so you can decide which you prefer. They are a little large and rely on a good seal to stay in your ear properly so its important to choose the right size. The case is also a little large, but its not that annoying to me personally. The sound quality on these is great and lag is very minimal. The active noise cancelling works good for long droning sounds like a car engine, but doesn't affect everything else too much. The passive noise cancelling is what helps with those sounds the most. Either way, once music starts, outside disappears.

The noise canceling function is effective in low frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices.

Great sound quality
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really really love the sound quality of these headphones. The noise canceling is pretty good. I ride the bus to work and going from remote to in-office work it is nice to drown out all the background noises. My only real complaint with these buds is that they don't stay in my ear really well. When I get up to walk around they tend to fall out. I really love my Jabra Elite's because they have a fin that holds the buds in my ears when I am moving around. Aside from that, these are really nice.

Excellent wireless earbuds
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These new Sony earbuds are getting rave reviews, and for what they cost, they should. I used them on a three hour train ride recently, and with noise reduction turned on, they completely blocked the external noise. I tried them while on my diesel tractor, but that was more noise than they could handle. I was not surprised. About the only earbuds I have found that can significantly reduce the tractor noise are Shure E500's which use passive noise reduction by providing a very tight physical seal that blocks external noise better than any active, electronic noise reduction. Sound quality on the Sony's is superb. Fit and comfort are very good. I feel like they are going to fall out sometimes, but so far they have not. Battery life is very good compared to similar models. The Sony Android app is simple to use and effective. It does not overwhelm with too many adjustments to tinker with. I'm very pleased with the purchase so far. The charging case is pretty large. Unlike my Google Pixel Buds which get harder to connect to the charging case over time, the Sony's appear to be better designed with strong magnets to hold the earbuds into the charging case. Also unlike the Pixel Buds, the Sony's do not have a connecting cord between them. I find the Pixel Bud's cord, which is worn behind the neck, often grabs on my neck and pulls out one of the ear buds when I turn my head. That can't happen on the Sony's since there are two independent ear buds, each wirelessly connected.

Excellent Noise Cancelling Earphones
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sony WF-1000XM3 earphones are excellent noise-cancelling earphones. The earphones have a good fit for me as long as my ears are dry. They are a bit bulky; however, that is to be expected with noise-cancelling earphones. I love the beige/champagne color of the earphones. The case opens and closes very smoothly and easily, and both the earphones and case have a premium feel and look to them. One of the aspects I did not like about the Powerbeats Pros is that the build felt cheap for the price. Sound Quality: The sound quality is excellent, and I love the customizable equalizer in the Sony Headphones Connect app. Listening to music and watching television through the earphones sound fantastic. Note: There is a downloadable app for the Sony WF-1000XM3 that allow you to customize the following: - Touch sensor functions (ambient sound control, playback control, volume control, Google assistant, and Amazon Alexa) - Degree of Noise Cancellation - Equalizer - Automatic Power Off - Notification & Voice Guide - Analyze ear shape - Optimize apps - DSEE HX The app also shows the battery percentage of each individual earphone as well as the charging case. I find the Sony's Headphones Connect app to be the best earphone customization app I have used.

Good but could use some work.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The size of the charging case and the earbuds are a bit large. The sound quality is pretty good and better in some ways than the AirPods and AirPods Pro especially when used with the equalizer features in the Sony Headphones app and some of the other accompanying features. There are a few drawbacks in the sound quality that the AirPods seem to have a more full and balanced sound as opposed to the strange airy sound of these. They also would not stay in my ear regardless of what earplug I selected from the ones included. Overall it’s a really good product that just needs some revisions and better app development to make it the best.

Amazing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These ear buds are amazing. I am coming from Airpod Pro that I thought sounded really good, but the ANC was a serious joke. These sound better (after some tweaks) and have far, far superior ANC capabilities. The app has a lot of convenient features and allows for some great sound customization. They're comfortable for my ears and come with plenty of different tips to where I found both a foam and rubber ear tip that worked great for me.

Lusted after, but ultimately dumped
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was really excited to pick these up, and finally bit the bullet and ordered them when they were on severe backorder. When I finally received them, I could not wait to go through the ear tips, flatten out all of my various EQs through my Apple Music and the Sony app, and work through how to maximize the sound on these buds. I was also willing to overlook the lack of IP rating or volume controls in order to take advantage of what many publications were calling the best buds that money can buy right now. As far as the look is concerned, these are very classy, and while they stick out from your ears, I examined them from all angles and they look pretty darn good. Sound? Very crisp and clear. However, there is no, and I mean NO, way to make these buds produce any thump whatsoever on the low end. I even tried maxing out the bass and the "Clear Bass" setting to see if that would produce a better low end but was severely disappointed. I am not needing bone rattling bass. I do want to feel it, though, and that just didn't happen here. Jazz tracks with solid tuba blatts for punctuation carried no oomph whatsoever, rendering the tracks lifeless. Rock with hard bass hits almost went out of the way to sculpt the low range in with the high instead of letting it stand out like it is supposed to. I had the first generation of these, and experienced largely the same, so I am not sure how I had convinced myself that these would be different. Noise canceling was very good, and the best I have experienced from a pair of earbuds, but ultimately, sounds do leak through. I think that the decision not to get better sealing tips lacking the "hooks" or "earfins" that you see more commonly did this particular feature a HUGE disservice. Finally, the fit. I finally got a good seal on the last pair of tips I tried, which ended up being the smallest silicone tips included. However, none of the options provided actually gave me anything that I would call a comfortable fit. Some were downright painful sitting in my ear canal. Size would be fine but I would feel actual sharp pain from them sitting there. I was able to get the maneuver down to get a good seal, evidenced by the level of cancelation I was experiencing, and they just hurt to wear for 30 minutes, much less hours. Who knows, maybe my ears are funky. Finally, I did the walk of shame and walked them back into my local store and returned them. The cashier even remarked that there was probably someone in store right then and there who would buy them and you know what, I hope they love them. For me, the hunt will continue for a pair of good rockin' buds.

A sound with very high definition
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had many headphones. I like to listen well to favorite music from any device. This headset is comfortable, with spectacular sound and allows, from any Android device, adjust to the smallest detail, from the intensity of noise cancellation, to the low and high. If you have a Sony walkman device (without Android) you cannot make adjustments, it will only allow you to choose the sound quality through the Bluethoth connection. Very good. Sony should adapt them to its high-end devices.

Nothing is lacking unless you are a bass head in that case a headphone is better for you. I am on my 2nd day with these and my ears are still not adjusted to the fit, I put on the smallest comfort tip and love the sound but not the fit. I will give it one more week to see if it works comfort wise. The noise cancellation is just OK, I honestly have never been impressed by ANC on headphones or earbuds at all, I can still hear pretty much everything.

Best In-Ear Earphones Ever
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second Sony canceling headphones. Last year I bought a WH-1000XM3, which had superior qualities of both sound and noise canceling. Pros: The WF-1000XM3 has similar quality, although the size is much smaller. The design is gorgeous, and the battery can last a whole day (with charger). Which is vital for me. Cons: The headphone's case is twice as large as Airpods' It's heavier than Airpod, making it much easier to fall out from your ears. It may not be a good fit for workout.

||Posted . I was skeptical and hesitant, but like I’ve stated these little guys exceeded my expectations! All but a couple of little things, things that most people wouldn’t notice. 1. The maximum volume can be a bit lacking. 2. The 5 band equalizer within it’s app doesn’t do much at all.

Great product
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sound quality, comfort, look, ease of use are all great. Basically exactly what I was looking for in a pair of earbuds. My only problem is that in the app, if you assign the function of one of the buds, lets say the left one, to google assistant, then you can't use the right one independently. You have to either use both of them together or just the left one. I fixed this by assigning both buds to playback control as the function, but definitely an issue that I hope is fixed with later updates. The price is a little high based on other similar products, but it's justifiable to me. Overall, It's a great product and definitely the best pair of true wireless buds I've ever tried.

Posted .Hi, Jakenb88!
Thank you for sharing this feedback. And just to add to this, on how to use one headset by itself, In the Sony Headphones Connect app, set <Pauses when headphones are taken off> to OFF. By design: if Google Assistant is assigned to one side, only that side can be used by itself. Ref https://helpguide.sony.net/mdr/wf1000xm3/v1/en/contents/TP0002395214.html
(e.g., If Google Assistant is assigned to the left headset, the right headset can be removed and/or placed in the charger case and the left headset will continue operating by itself. If instead the left headset is placed in the charger case or removed from the ear for at least 5 minutes (i.e., unless Auto Power Off is set to OFF)—the right headset will automatically pause/stop and can not be operated by itself.)
Hope this helps!

Great sound, no so great connection
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound quality from these buds is very good. Easily the best sounding ones I’ve owned. I’ve had 2 pairs of zolo liberty+, 1st & 2nd gen AirPods andBose Soundsport free. The case keeps its charge for quite a while. I want to find a pair of earbuds that has the connection stability of my AirPods, but these simply aren’t it. I can be holding my phone right out in front of me texting and they will randomly cut out. I’ll go for a walk when it’s chilly and use a hat/hood, almost constant cutouts.. AirPods do not cut out when I wear both a hat, a hood and put my phone in a lower pocket! today my phone rang while wearing the Sony’s which stopped the music, all I had to do was answer and press a button to let someone in my building and hang up. Earbuds disconnected and would not reconnect. Had to put them back in their case and start over. Pretty annoying. The noise canceling is decent, but still not nearly as solid as the gen 2 AirPods. For half of my walk today I wore the Sony’s, the other half I wore the AirPods. There was a ~12 mph steady wind, so a bit breezy. Sony’s sounded like someone blowing in a microphone for most of the time I was wearing em, the AirPods I’d maybe hear a little whisper every now and then. So the AirPods were much more enjoyable to wear in the wind even though the sound quality isn’t quite as good as Sony has to offer. Overall my issue is with the connection. It drives me nuts when the music cuts out, you hear a quick tone and then it starts playing again. Once a walk, not a big deal, half a dozen times.. very annoying.

The WF-1000XM3 has a new Bluetooth chip and an optimized antenna design to provide a stable connection for hours of wireless streaming. To ensure you get the best Bluetooth connection, download the Headphones Connect App then set the headphones Bluetooth Connection Mode to “Priority on stable connection”. And, if the noise-canceling function or ambient sound mode is turned on, the ambient environment may increase the wind noise. In this case, change the settings to Wind Noise Reduction in the Ambient Sound Control settings on the Sony | Headphones Connect app. -Sam

The best thus far
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sony WF-1000XM3 (Sony needs a better name lol) are by far these best sounding truly wireless earphones on the market with their noise cancelling technology. The case for the earphones is pretty big though not as big as the Powerbeats pro. Between the earphones and the case you have 24-32hrs depending if you have noise cancelling on or not. You get 8hrs without NC and 6hrs with NC which it’s pretty impressive for earbuds this size. Sound. These sound amazing in my opinion solid deep bass with clear highs and mids. The companion app Sony Headphones Connect you can fine tune the sound with the EQ. You also have control of the NC As well as being the updates that Sony pushes occasionally for the WF-1000MX3. I can only provide my opinion on how they sound and like I have said before these are amazing for me. But since music is subjective the best way is to try them if you can. I don’t regret the purchase. Sony raised the bar and even though they aren’t perfect the pros are better then the cons. One feature that I like which it borrows from its big brother over the ear headphones by almost the same name Is the ability to place your finger on the left earbud so you can quite the earbuds if someone is talking to you which I think is pretty cool. Also if you remove one earbud the music will pause And continue to play once you place it back. You can use one earbud at a time while the other is charging. Sony raised the bar and even though they aren’t perfect they are a step up from what others are doing. Snag a pair if you’re looking for NC Truly Wireless earbuds. Pros. Sound great Noise cancelling Verity of tips to fit ear Style Battery life USB C The companion app Cons. No sweat resistance rating Wireless charging (if your into that) No aptX HD and Sony’s LDAC sound profiles No built in volume controls
