When wearing the headset, twist the headset to slide the earbud deep into your ear. The earbud will be easier to slide deep into your ear if you pull up on the top of the ear lightly while twisting the headset. I purchased to have the earbud version of my Sony over the ear ANC headphones. These give the same great sound quality and almost equivalent noise cancelling. The app to allow customization of the sound also works very well. I use these daily for my workout, and battery life and connectivity to my device have been rock solid. Highly recommended.

For fit concern, the WF-1000XM3 features an Ergonomic Tri-hold structure design for a snugly and comfortably fitting. A high-friction rubber surface keeps the noise canceling earbuds snug and secure in your ear so they won’t slip out unexpectedly. This does also come with an assortment of earbuds in various sizes to ensure there is a great fit for all ear sizes. To ensure optimal performance, as well as to obtain the best fit and prevent the headset from falling out, when wearing them, please gently pull on the top of your ear as you twist the earbud into your ear. This should give you a firmer hold.

Took quite time to get used to it

It’s all about the tips guys, so make sure you spend time trying all the tips that come along inside the box to find your best fit. Sound quality is, well, Sony has never disappointed me. Despite the initial comfort, my ears would get hurt if I wear them for too long, like 4+ hours. Maybe that’s how these types of earphones are when they snuck deep into your ears?

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went from the iPhone back to Samsung, so when I got rid of the iPhone and AirPods I purchases the Samsung Earbuds, I received nothing but complaints about my voice being muffled all the time, that being said the sound that I heard from the Samsung Earbuds were great. So I ended up purchasing the Sony headphones and love them. I just wish I did not have to go into the headphones app to always move around what ear Google Assist is on, since I only use one headphone at a time. That would be my only complaint.

When pairing these headphones, place the source device within 1 m (3 feet) of the headset. Make sure that the headphones are in pairing mode. When you pair the headset with a device for the first time after purchase or after initializing the headset (if the headset has no pairing information), the headset enters pairing mode automatically if you remove the headset from the charging case. When you pair a second or subsequent device (if the headset has pairing information for other devices), insert the headset units into both ears, then hold your fingers to the touch sensors on both the left and right units for about 7 seconds. The noise canceling is amazing, with the app you can even adjust the amount of ambient sound that is passed through. Great battery life as well. Several sizes of ear-tips including memory foam. Cons: Charging case is much bigger than Airpods'. ANC tends to amplify wind noise (WH-1000XM3 does not have this issue). Earbuds stick out of my ears horizontally (much more so than neck-bands or wired sets) and shake around as I walk. I end up not using them on walks and returned them.

Let me say the noise canceling is great. The battery life was amazing. The app is awesome The voice quality was great until recently when they started to cut out on videos and phone calls. No reason at all for this to happen. There was no firmware update date to fix this issue. I used them for about 42 days before returning them hoping a update would come out.

Originally I had my eyes set on the larger WH-1000XM3 headphones but it turns out my workplace has a rule preventing use of headphones during work hours, but earbuds are fine, so I bought these instead with great expectations. The noise cancelling was phenomenal. Sometimes I can no longer hear anything from their cubicle, which was right beside mine, so I had to look if they were still there, and they were! It's just that I can no longer hear them anymore. The sound quality was really good, especially the bass which is so rumbling and thumping, which is to be expected from Sony. Connecting to the phone was also easy and the Bluetooth link is stable without any dropouts during the two months of my time using these. All in all I'm very satisfied with this purchase and would really recommend it to anyone who needs small earbuds with amazing sound quality and great noise cancelling to drown out coworkers, commute noise and any other sounds that you might not want in your life. I know these are a bit expensive, so you might want to wait for a deal, but trust me, these are worth every penny you might want to spend on a pair of noise cancelling earbuds.

Battery life is decent if you do not use DXEE upfiltering, which shouldn't be used unless you have a really bad quality audio file you are trying to play anways. Noise cancelling does quite well for an in ear pair. Build quality is top notch. 10/10 would buy again.

Viable alternative to Apple Airpod Pro

In fact I sold my AirPods for these. Half baked are precisely what these are. Updated to v1.3 no fix. Had to return In few days and get new AirPods again Beautiful sound on this Sony. That’s about it. Terrible terrible mic people were complaining they can’t hear me I am talking about important office calls here. Still willing to give a shot on 2nd gen. The app come ON its 2019 it’s so laggy and weird with finicky connectivity. Day in and out wears you out just looking at this app.
