They do a good job blocking ambient noise. One really cool function is the automatic pause when one ear bud is removed (at least that is how it works with his IPhone 12). The charging box is very convenient as well. Overall, he is very pleased.

Try the following:
• For Bluetooth connection issue: The WF-1000XM3 has a new Bluetooth chip and an optimized antenna design to provide a stable connection for hours of wireless streaming. To ensure you get the best Bluetooth connection, please set the headphones Bluetooth Connection Mode to “Priority on stable connection”
-Change the position or location of the unit or connected device.
-If the connected device has a cover on it, take it off to improve the communication distance.
-If the connected device is in a bag or in a pocket, try moving the position of the device.
-Place the devices closer together to improve signal transmission
• If the issue still occurs, please make sure that your headphones are running on the latest firmware version. The software includes key features, applications, bug fixes, and feature improvements.

I would constantly have to adjust these earbuds that they kept chafing my ear canals. I actually bought these and exchanged them for another as they kept cutting off /on every 30 seconds. The second pair did the same thing. I could not get it to stop even after changing settings in the Sony app. Very annoying and too expensive for having quality issues.

I return the new version (xm4) and get these version back. Moral of the story, not because there is a new version means it's better. I'm really happy with these headphones

Excellent Sound, but Bluetooth blips out

I've tried them all -- the Samsungs, Klipsch, Apple, etc -- and these are hands down the winners. However, I'm considering returning them as of recent due to a weird bluetooth connection issue. It seems like a few times during the day the bluetooth sputters in and out and occasionally fails all together forcing me to pair again or place them back in the case.

The traditional AirPods from Apple were a success and I feel like I just need to stick with those as a standby. The Sony ones and the new AirPods Pro both were uncomfortable and would not stay in my ears. I really wanted them to work as the sound quality was awesome but I just couldn’t handle these in my ears. So uncomfortable.

I returned to Best Buy and they assisted me by answering all of my questions and showing me various features. I love this product. Not only can I answer and make calls using Google assistant, I can also listen to notifications received on my phone and create playlists on Tidal to stream my favorite music artists.

Your feedback about the water resistance is greatly appreciated. We recommend using headphones that were designed to be used for working out. These headphones can be used for running. However, this model doesn't have an IPX rating since it's not waterproof. So make sure to prevent the water or sweat from entering the unit. In any case that you are upgrading in the future, you may want to consider checking this model, WF-1000XM4, which has an IPX4 rating that can handle sweat or splashes from rain when you're working out.

The product reviews were not wrong. These are the best outside of a full noise cancelling headphone set. Even though they cost more than many other standard ear buds you are getting a solid product well worth the price. Sony nailed it on the engineering.

If you already tried using different sizes of earbud tips, please also wear them correctly to keep them from falling. The earbud will be easier to slide deep into your ear if you pull up on the top of the ear lightly while twisting the headset.
