      Hi Darrah,

Thank you for the review and we're sorry for the confusion. The battery will depend on the settings used for the headphones with usage conditions and functions. If you set the following functions, the available operating time of the battery becomes short:

      - Sound quality mode during Bluetooth playback: Priority on sound quality
      - Noise canceling function/Ambient Sound Mode
      - Equalizer
      - DSEE

Take note that actual performance varies based on settings, environmental conditions, storage, and usage. Batteries are consumable products, and their capacity degrades over time as they age. Sony does not guarantee the life span of the battery.

      Hi VINCH,

Thanks for reaching out to us with your concern. We're sorry you've been running into difficulty. Choosing the right fit for your earbud tips is not only essential to ensure the best audio experience and maximum noise cancelation. You should naturally be able to enjoy your listening experience without any discomfort.

Check that you are wearing the headset properly in your ears. Wear the headset so that the earbud tip is comfortably situated as deep in the ear canal as possible.

When trying to find the best earbuds, try the sizes in order from the larger sizes to the smaller sizes. After attaching the earbud tips, check that there is no movement on the WF-C700N. (Shake your head back and forth.)
Note: If they fall off or move in your ears when you shake your head, select a different size. The best size earbud tips may be different for each ear.

For low sound quality, please check our help guide link to isolate and troubleshoot the issue: https://helpguide.sony.net/mdr/2968/v1/en/contents/TP1000779956.html

You can also make few adjustments to your headphones settings to suit your needs. Please ensure you've downloaded the Sony Headphones Connect app. This will give you more control over your headphones and their performance. Fine, but not a suitable replacement for Airpods

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought these seeking a more affordable alternative to apple Airpods. Pros: inexpensive, good audio quality, decent battery life, easy pairing. Cons: slow to charge, the earbuds are heavy and uncomfortable, prone to falling out. the outward facing buttons are too sensitive and i will often toggle settings by accident. These serve a decent back-up pair of wireless earbuds, but I will be repurchasing Airpods as my main set.

Hi princessmilk, we're glad you are enjoying your new earbuds. We're sorry to hear that you have an issue with your Sony unit.

It’s recommended to ensure that the charging port and cable are clean and undamaged. Trying a different charger or charging cable might also help to determine if the issue lies with the charger or the earbuds. Experimenting with different sizes of ear tips that come with the earbuds might help you find a better fit. Ensuring that you are wearing the earbuds correctly can also improve comfort and reduce the likelihood of them falling out.

These are great ear buds if you're looking for something with noise canceling! I turn them on and can't hear anything, it's so nice. They're also pretty comfortable and fit really well in my ears, and notoriously ear buds have not been my friend. The battery life is really great, too. I charge the case maybe once a week and it I've only seen it go down to 50%. The sound quality is fantastic, as well. Overall I'm very happy with these!

Sony has really been putting out some excellent audio products lately, and these earbuds live up to that high expectation. These Sony earbuds are, at this price point, among the best in class for sound quality, design, and active noise canceling. These earbuds look great and are very comfortable to wear. They have great battery life. Another plus for them is they are water resistant so outside use will not be a problem for them as long as they are not being used for swimming or some activity where they get immersed in water.. I usually don’t like to use my more expensive reference quality headsets for active use, so I like to have a pair of less expensive earbuds like this for riskier outside activities. These earbuds are also great for someone on a budget but who still wants great sound and features. These earbuds offer an insane amount of sound quality for the price. It creates full range sound that approaches the quality of more expensive earbuds. Likewise for the noise canceling. The Sony ANC formula has trickled down from their flagship models to mid tier offerings like these earbuds. Another great feature is the Sony Connect App which allows the sounds and use of the earbuds to be fully customized. Several EQ presets are available as well as the option to fully adjust the EQ bands to preference. I highly recommend these Sony wireless earbuds. The sound quality is off the charts good, while also being extremely budget friendly.

Decent Quality Bluetooth Earbuds w/ "Pro" Features

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The Sony WF-C700N is a set of Bluetooth earbuds which pack in a bunch of features in what's a pretty nondescript package. The earbuds have a conventional shape in a muted matte black color (the charging case too). They come in a case which as you'd expect, doubles as a charger. Pairing is pretty straightforward. You can do it with Sony's Headphone app or just direct to your phone or laptop. Unfortunately, while the first pair is straightforward (it ships in pairing mode), pairing to a second device requires pressing a button on the case. The downside, your connectivity is limited if you lose the case. However, as the case is required to charge the earbuds, perhaps that's not too big an issue. Sound quality is good, not the best but better than a lot of wired earbuds. It seems ear canal comfort has been improved as I was able to wear these for longer than a few hours. The sound quality is good enough to listen to music through work, my ride to the gym, then my workout. I appreciate the IPX rating and the texture was such that I didn't feel these were at risk of falling out of my ears doing my normal strength training. They feel like there would be resistance to coming out while running so would either be good or I'd have some advance warning. The noise canceling was ok, not at a level where it eliminates a nearby AC unit though it does lower the volume of the drone. In some transitions between songs, I did feel a bit of pressure as it seemed the noise cancelling ratcheted up in the absence of music playing. For my ride, having ambient noise mode was great and being able to activate it without having to go through the app, even better. And ambient isn't just turning off noise cancelling, instead you're still in noise cancelling mode, it just also pipes in some audio from your environment. The app does have a setting to help prioritize voices but I honestly couldn't tell much of a difference with that on or off. It would be nice if it had an automatic feature to switch to ambient or reduce volume if I start talking/ The manual claims 15 hours of battery life. Like every other earbud I've had in the past couple years, that figure must be taken with a hearty dose of salt. For sure, you can achieve a solid 4 hours in noise cancelling/ambient mode. But I'm not seeing how they get to 15 hours. Maybe that's 15 hours that it's ON, but not actually being used for music or voice. Calls over the earbuds were decent. I didn't get any complaints from people on the other end. So, at the very least it's as good as other earbuds or the multi-mic noise cancelling on my cell phone. I liked being able to have the earbuds paired simultaneously to multiple devices. While I mostly use earbuds with my cell phone, for laptop/PC zoom calls, I sometimes will take those on my earbuds, especially if I need to move around. Being able to have the laptop connect immediately without needing to go through the pairing process is a time saver. Another little things worth mentioning, you can use either earbud in a single earbud mode. This sometimes comes up if I'm in a situation where I know I'll be taxing the earbud's battery life and so use one to increase runtime. In my short testing, I did notice that the battery seemed to run down more when outdoors versus at my desk. I'm not sure if it's because my phone is in a pocket versus siting on a table an generally in line of sight. In all, the WF-C700N is a surprisingly well featured set of Bluetooth earbuds. Are there some things that could be improved - yes. Do they need to be? No, these are pretty decent earbuds as-is.

      Hi Zboot,

That's very generous of you! We're truly pleased to hear you love your new Sony WF-C700N and these delivers great sound and call quality during your workouts in the gym. Glad to know that you like the multipoint connection and you can use the headset unit individually that is also noteworthy. For the available operating time, usage hours may be different from the time described above depending on the settings for the headset functions and usage conditions.

The noise canceling function is effective in low frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices. Also, if the size of the earbud tips does not match the size of your ear canals or the headset is not worn properly in your ears, you may not obtain the correct sound qualities, noise canceling effects, or call performance.

We really appreciate all your inputs. Our WF-C700N noise canceling headphones, all-day comfort and immersive sound quality allow you to enjoy music anywhere. They have the Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE) and Sony’s unique driver which reproduce your music with authentic vocals and powerful bass. Overall, these Sony headphones produce good quality sound. Most impressive is the lack of distortion when turning up the volume. I have other entry-level wireless earbuds from other brands and distortion is an issue. So it’s rare to get this kind of quality in an entry-level speaker. The overall sound is very good. The medium and highs are clear, and the lows are present; they’re not overwhelming, but improve greatly when the earbud is properly sealed into the ear. I like how Sony suggests starting the fitting process with the largest silicon earplug, then working your way down if needed. I’ve found that a tight seal with my ear produced a better sound. In addition, a tight fit helped them stay in longer. Another positive is how light they are; they are only 4.53 grams per earbud. After a while, I didn’t notice them in my ears. I think the light weight will help my 11-year-old son get used to them since these are going to be his primary headphones. For reference, his ears are on the smaller side, and we found that the smallest silicon plug barely fit his ears. He was able to get them to fit eventually, after some trial and error. When using the earbuds for phone calls, the mic quality was good. I could clearly hear my son when he was using them to call me. The Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) feature on these earbuds is basic. However, they do reduce the surrounding noise to a comfortable level. It’s nothing like Sony’s higher-end headphones, but those cost 2 to 3 times more than this entry-level model. All ANC headphones have a sound pass-through feature, otherwise know as Ambient Sound or transparency mode. I would also describe the headphone’s transparency feature as basic. To enable sound to pass through the headphones, for example, when someone starts talking to you while you’re listening to music, you simply need to press the button on the left earbud. This will allow you to hear them as they talk to you, but you will also hear a lot of surrounding noise. Again, Sony’s higher-end headphones provide a clearer sound, but for this price point, the feature works as it should. A couple of points worth mentioning, these headphones only use the SBC and AAC Bluetooth codecs. They do not support LDAC. But considering these are basic headphones, the need to support LDAC isn’t necessary. Also, one of the first things to do when you bring these earbuds home is to download the Sony app to update the firmware. I noticed a difference in sound and loudness after updating the firmware. Plus, updating enables the multipoint connection feature. This is useful for when you want to have your headphones connected to your phone and computer at the same time. Overall, this is a solid entry-level wireless headphone. Sony products usually cost slightly more than their competitors, but I find their products are well made with solid technology. And it’s nice to see the company’s effort in going green. Every piece of the packaging is made from paper and is easily recyclable.

I would recommend this to a friend
