Posted .Hi MelissaE,
While the design is slightly larger to accommodate our high-capacity battery and noise-canceling hardware, these earbuds are packed with features like 360 Reality Audio and DSEE™ upscaling. They are also fully compatible with Apple products via the Sony | Headphones Connect app, which allows you to customize sound and control settings on your iPhone.
Thanks for considering Sony Products.

Amazing Sound, Noise Canceling, and Bass
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony has been one of the top producers of noise canceling earphones and earbuds for several years now, pushing the envelope on what is possible. I’m very impressed with the noise canceling capabilities of these earbuds and the quality of sound is the best I’ve ever heard in earbuds. Design The pill box charging case that these come is small and light weight. Easily fits in a pocket or backpack zipper. It has a matt feel which provides a bit of grip, so it doesn’t feel like a bar of soap ready to slip from your hands any moment. The lid opens easily, and the earbuds are magnetically held in place. The earbuds themselves fit very nicely in the ear, slightly sliding into the ear canal, which helps old it in place. The body of the earbuds fit nicely in the ear, comfortable to wear for hours. There are capacitive areas on each of the earbuds for controlling volume, play, pause, forward, back, hang up, answer and noise canceling. It’ll take some getting used to what all functions do what, while each earbud share some functions, they also have unique functions. For example, the left is for volume down, the right for volume up. The right controls pause and play while the left controls noise canceling mode (ambient or on). I think the white looks good and looks good in the ear. It’s very obvious you’re wearing them, but they don’t stick out too far and have a very clean design language not needing buttons with the capacitive area. The capacitive area for me has been a learning curve as well. The area you interact with angles slightly down either due to the desing or the shape of my ear. Either way, it’s just a bit un-natural for me and has taken a bit to get used to. Sound Sony makes great sounding products. They’ve been doing it a long time and have only gotten better over the years. I’m very surprised at how much bass they’ve managed to get into these. I’m sure there’s some sort of engineering trickery that’s making it work but I don’t care, they sound fantastic. On top of having a wide sound stage and great bass, they also have an app that allows you to create custom sound profiles using an equalizer. It is astonishing to me how many companies make sound products but don’t provide an EQ to allow for individuals to adjust to their preference. While Sony doesn’t provide a full EQ, they do give you 5 points of adjustment and a bass slider along with several presets. Well, if you thought the focus was all about the sound, well they spent some time on the noise canceling too. The WH1000XM series, also from Sony, set the bar for the industry on noise canceling and it just took off from there. My first day using these, on at least 3 occasions, I had someone step into my office, completely unnoticed while I was working, and even spoke to me, and I never heard them. This is exactly what I want when I’m looking for 100% noise canceling. As I’m sitting outside, typing this review, listening to music, there’s a steady wind coming in from my left. The occasional gust might pick up some static but it’s easily drowning out the noise from the new house they’re building up the road, cars coming down the street. It’s not perfect however, as I could hear the church bells next to my neighborhood. My guess is they’re faint enough the microphones aren’t picking them up and I can still hear through the earbuds. Sound Connect App A lot of your settings and features will be done through the sound connect app. Along with controlling the headphones, you can adjust the active noise canceling. There is a slider that you can move to reach your preferred amount of noise canceling so if you still want to have some awareness but make it less distracting, you have the ability to find that balance for your environment. If you have an active day and have different preferences based on where you’re at or the amount of noise, there’s adaptive sound control. You can adjust for when you’re sitting, walking, running or in a vehicle on how much noise canceling you want. You can also register locations for noise canceling or adaptive sound. If you prefer noise canceling at home but ambient sound at the office, you can set locations and they will adjust accordingly. Other features that are nice is sound quality versus sound connection prioritization. The ability to connect to multiple devices and switch based on which one is playing music or sound. It was a little clunky when both were playing at the same time but if I paused one and immediately played the other, it was seamless. You’re not locked into what the capacitive buttons do, those can be changed in the app as well. Other Thoughts Some additional positives and negatives. You get a few different sized ear tips in the box along with a charge cable. Battery life has been great. I’ve been using on and off for a few days and I’ve only charged once. I don’t have a run time, but they advertise 30 hours of run time between the headphones and the case and I’m not doubting that. There’s a quick access feature that can launch your music app just by using a tapping gesture, but this appears to be limited to Spotify and amazon music, neither of which I use. The lid and hinge on the case doesn’t seem like it’ll be very durable as it’s all plastic design seems like a drop too hard, and you’ll be left with a crack. I hope I’m wrong here, but it remains to be seen. I also find if you have noise canceling set to still and ambient set to walking, the tone that’s played shifting between the two can be distracting when listening to music or talking on the phone. If there’s a way to turn it off, I haven’t found it yet or it isn’t obvious. If I had one gripe, it’s they could improve how my voice sounds in my own head when I’m talking with someone with these in. While it does great at passing through natural sounds in the environment, I feel like I’m talking underwater and way too loudly when I’m talking with someone. If they could recreate how your voice sounds naturally talking without headphones in, these would be flawless. If I could take off a half star, I would, but I feel like everything else it does is so great, I can’t give it 4 stars for this alone. These are fantastic and easily recommended to anyone looking for noise canceling earbuds. Earbuds reviews are always subjective but for me these look great, feel great, sound fantastic. They’re easy to use and carry around. Easy to recommend.

An Awesome Set of Earbuds!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sony WF-C710N Truly Wireless Noise-Canceling Earbuds are an impressive set of headphones, and offer a great value for the features offered. During my time testing them, I was amazed at how much technology is packed into such small packages, and the overall quality of every aspect of the product. Despite their affordable price tag, these earbuds sound, look, and feel anything but "cheap." The materials used in the construction of the charging case and earbuds themselves feel premium, well-built, and durable. Also included is a USB-C charging cable, and 2 more sets of swappable ear tips (for a total of 3 sets). Like many modern wireless earbuds, the Sony WF-C710N’s charge in their handy carrying case, which can be charged via its own USB-C port. Sony states that you can expect to get a little over 8 hours of playtime with the earbuds, and around 21 hours in the case. While I did not time my usage, these figures seem extremely accurate, as I was pretty blown away by how long I could listen to music before I needed to place these in the case. Comfort is also great with the Sony WF-C710N earbuds. I’m not a huge user of earbud type headphones, but I found these to be comfy, with a good selection of removable ear tips to get the right fit. As for the sound quality, Sony really knows how to make good-sounding headphones, and these are no exception. The bass is powerful yet not overwhelming, the midrange is present and vibrant, and the high end is clear, yet not fatiguing after long listening sessions. To my ear, these definitely sport a warmer, more “V” shaped sound profile, but that means music, movies, and content will typically sound fun and engaging. I’ve been impressed with how much detail can be heard, even though these are not a reference pair of studio headphones. These also get very loud for a set of Bluetooth headphones, which is great for when you really want to blast your tunes. Even at high volumes, the sound quality remains impressive, with little to no distortion, and powerful bass that you can feel. The Bluetooth pairing set up was a little bit tricky, but after some troubleshooting, I was able to get it working flawlessly. I wanted to first pair the earbuds with my iPhone 15 Plus, and that was a breeze. Sony recommend you download their app, but I found that it wasn't totally necessary just to get Bluetooth paired. Then, I wanted to make my iPad Air the second device linked; for some reason, I had to work at this connection process. After about 10 minutes of work, the earbuds are linked to both devices and operate perfectly. It’s as simple as taking the earbuds out of the case and placing them in my ears- you hear a tone, and they are up and running with your device. It’s honestly one of the smoothest Bluetooth experiences ever for me, and very nice to not have to click any buttons on my phone, or manually swap when moving from my iPhone to iPad. Noise cancellation works pretty well with these earbuds, though I typically used to app to disable this feature due to my own personal preference. You can also tap either earbud to control various aspects of the user experience, like playback, volume, and answering calls. The mic quality seemed great when I took calls, as no one ever complained about being unable to hear me. The Sony app is useful for controlling earbud features on your mobile device, but if for some reason you don’t have it, I don’t think it will matter. The box states that these will work for both Apple and Android devices, but I can’t speak to Android functionality as I only was able to test with Apple products. There are many options for Bluetooth earbuds when you decide to shop for a new pair. Sony has been able to create a set that stands out from the crowd due to their amazing and useful features, all wrapped up in an attractive and very affordable package. If you’re searching for a pair of high-quality headphones, the Sony WF-C710N Truly Wireless Noise-Canceling Earbuds should be at the top of your list! Final Score: 5 Stars!!

Good fit, sound great, plagued by 3rd party probs
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These headphones are a step in the right direction for Sony. They offer a very nice sound palette and a decent set of options for customization. The battery life and comfort go hand in hand as I was able to wear them almost all day listening to music and cleaning my house with almost no ear discomfort and no need to charge them. They didn't seem to weigh down on my ear canals at all so if it weren't for the music I would have forgotten I was wearing them. The noise cancelling is really quite good it filtered out much of what I wanted it to when it was on. The pass through technology still leaves a little to be desired however because my voice when using it still sounds muffled like I'm wearing earplugs which makes it sound out of place among the clearer sounds around me. Also there is the matter of the need for a third party app needed to connect the earbuds to the phone (I have an iPhone) and within THAT there a push toward another third party subscription "3D audio" app. Both of these things cheapen the use of the earbuds just a little bit because it makes me feel like I have to jump through extra steps to use them or purchase extra things to get the full experience with them. When It should be as easy as turning them on and connecting them to my phone. Native integration, or at least minimal app requirement would make using these so much more convenient, especially when all you want to do is put them in and jam out to your favorite tunes. because sound quality is great, battery is awesome, and the noise canceling is really good for getting in the zone. Overall quality and build for these is really good and I would recommend them.

A gamechanger in budget earbuds
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a bunch of earbuds in my collection and I am always looking for a good pair to listen to music on the go and not need to remember to pack my bigger over the ears. I will for the long travel times. But for the day to day and grab and go uses, this will be my go-to earbuds. The packaging is minimal and no plastic, which is awesome, but I can do without the mini charging cable. I mean were can you plug this in? Just your computer or laptop. I guess you have to include something. There are people will be asking what charger this will use if not included. For the record, it's USB C. There is no wireless charging, but you do get a nice carrying case. For me the best case to carry is the Pixel Pros case overall. But this one is a bit longer and flatter than what is on the market today. The look, reminds me of Jabras with a few add ons like ambient grills and notches on the headphone to let you know if you have the earbuds correctly inserted in your ear. For me the preinstalled earbuds fit me perfect. No issues using them out of the box. They create a great seal for music listening. On the box you do have literature, but all you need is the QR code to direct you to the Sony Sound app. I have other Sony headphones, so I already have this installed on my phone. I am using a Pixel 9 and once I charged it up and removed the buds from the case, the phone took about 10 seconds to do it's fast pairing. I then wanted to see how well it would pair to my desktop computer at home. I turned on the feature on the app and clicked to pair with another device and my computer immediately saw it and I confirmed the pairing. Super easy! When I initially use headphones, either in ear or over the ear. I normally break them in. My break in period is about a day of usage for about 2 hours straight. The next day I start another session and see if I get the same experience as before. For me the experience was joy. The joy that the sound was so good the first day, it was even better the second. I mean the bass is there. You can go super bass and these drivers can work. However, for my usage, clear bass is what I opt for and for most of the music I listen to. The app I believe is just as important than the hardware itself. Where if you have a good app to handle the aspects of sound, being presets to editing each frequency in an EQ, you just just need it. No 2 ears are the same, like a fingerprint, everyone is different. Some may not like the plastic look that brings down the premium feeling of what Sony is mostly known for, but don't really look at it that way. If the sound is there, and can handle the aspects what I listen to and do it well, it's a great headset or eabud. The ANC is amazing. I mean really really good. Better than most of my over the ears. And it can be edited with the app! Also you can kind of remap the touches on the earbuds too. But you can literally remap it to your hearts desires. You can get what you want, but it's more of a lists that cover most of the bases here. You are not assignging the presses. This is not bad, but I just wish someone told me becuase I feel like an idiot trying to press the screen with no reaction. Either way, it can be done for the most part. To me the ANC vs battery is the most important feature nowdays. This can go over 30 hours and with ANC, this can more than cover most of my traveling/trips. Would I recommend this? Heck yes! It's one of the better in ears I have used in a few years! I am glad Sony stepped up with this model. Oh and you can use one earphone too! And if you remove one ear bud when using both, it can pause for you. I say can, because the app can direct it to if you wish. A great overall package for a not so expensive price!

Long Battery Life; Good Fitment
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After about a week of using these Sony earbuds, I am impressed with them. While they are not perfect, they check many of the boxes I was looking for in a mid-range prices set of earbuds. First, fit. The earbuds came with three different sizes of rubber inserts for the ears. I found the medium size was best for me. You place the earbud in your ear and then do a slight rearward twisting motion to "lock" them in place. The seal against the ear is very good and after a few hours of yard work and then about two hours on the bike (road cycling), never once did I feel the earbuds were going to fall out or even come lose. Next, (Music) Sound. The earbuds produce a good amount of bass--not thumping bass, but good bass. The equalizer in the app has a lot of diverse presets, and many of them provide a great balance of bass, midrange and treble, without the treble sounding overly tinny. Clarity was excellent. Volume was plentiful--about 1/3 to 1/2 as indicated on my phone was plenty for me in most situations. Next, (Voice) Sound. I like that the earbuds support multi-pairing. I have them simultaneously linked between my computer and my phone. It is easy to switch between the two devices, and when on my computer and a phone call comes in, I can tap the earbuds to answer the call. When done, it switches back to the computer. Same goes if I was listening to music on the phone. I did have the computer-phone-computer switch hick-up once, but that has happened with almost all my earbuds, regardless of brand. Voice clarity was very good, as was the microphone. I had no complaints from anyone that they could not hear me. Now, Noise Cancelling. I have never been impressed with any noise cancelling algorithm, regardless of brand. This set comes with noise cancelling, ambient enhance, and off as the settings. The noise cancelling works well some of the time, but it seems to go in and out depending on the frequency of the outside noise. For example, when running the string trimmer for yard work, the frequency of the hum changes with the string length. I'll not hear it at first, then hear it, then not hear it again as the noise-cancelling algorithm adjusts. It can be a bit annoying. However, the big miss is with the ambient enhance. This set of earbuds (and all earbuds for that matter) don't know how to handle wind. With ambient enhance enabled, just walking on a windy day, jogging, or riding a bike makes the wind noise nothing short of deafening. The earbuds allow switching back and forth between noise cancelling and ambient enhance by tapping one of the earbuds. A third choice of off would be nice. The haptics of tapping the earbuds to answer calls, switch modes, etc. works well. The surface for tapping is in a natural location and there is an audible confirmation when you tap. A few last comments about battery life. I have gotten upwards of about 6 hours of battery life and there was still plenty left when I put the earbuds back in the charger. The charging case is compact and charges the earbuds in a reasonable amount of time. Overall, this set of earbuds delivers very nice sound (music and voice) and has very good fitment. The multi-pairing works well, and the noise cancelling is quite nice (when the ambeint frequency is constant). The ambient enhance feature needs to be improved to handle wind. I think the earbud set is an overall good value in the price range.

Posted .Hi Issy25,
Thanks for the feedback and for the review. We are truly sorry to hear that you’re dealing with an echo and low volume on your WF-C710N.
To help fix these issues, here are a few simple things you can try:
-If the earbuds don't fit snugly in your ear canal, the sound can often feel thin or "weak." We recommend trying out the different sizes of earbud tips included in the box. A better seal usually brings back the bass and volume.
-If you hear an echo (especially during calls or while walking), it might be the Ambient Sound Mode or Adaptive Sound Control in the Sony | Sound Connect app. Try turning these off or lowering the level to see if the echo disappears.
-Reset the earbuds. For detailed instructions, please refer to the following resource.

Posted .Hello Klwx,
Thank you for considering Sony products.
We are truly sorry to hear about the frustration caused by your WFC710N earbuds suddenly stopping charging, especially just after your return window at BestBuy. We understand how disappointing this must be, and we want to help you get back to enjoying your earbuds as quickly as possible.
To get you back to your music as quickly as possible, please try these refined troubleshooting steps:
Power Check: Ensure the case is connected to a known working power source using the original Sony USB-C cable.
Clean the Contacts: Use a soft, dry cloth (or a cotton swab) to gently clean the small charging contacts on both the earbuds and inside the case. Even invisible oils can disrupt the connection.
Initialize the headset to restore factory settings by following this guide: https://helpguide.sony.net/mdr/2986/v1/en/contents/TP1001829717.html
If needed, reset the headset using the instructions here: https://helpguide.sony.net/mdr/2986/v1/en/contents/TP1001829718.html

Posted .Thank you for sharing your feedback, Rollsroyce.
We are truly sorry to hear about the persistent and frustrating issue you are experiencing with your WF-C710N earbuds, specifically the unwanted and automatic switching between the Noise Canceling and Ambient Sound modes. We understand how disruptive this is to your listening experience, and we sincerely apologize that this flaw has led to your decision to return the product.
This kind of behavior is often caused by the Adaptive Sound Control feature being active in the Sony | Sound Connect app. When this setting is turned On, the earbuds automatically try to detect your activity (like walking or staying still) and switch the listening mode accordingly.
We would like to help you resolve this so you can enjoy the quality sound without interruption, even if you still plan to return them. To prevent the unwanted switching:
Disable Adaptive Sound Control: Open the Sony | Sound Connect app, go to the Adaptive Sound Control settings, and set it to Off.
Manual Setting: Manually set your preferred mode (Noise Canceling or Ambient Sound) within the app.
We regret that this experience has led you to lose trust in our brand, but we value your honest feedback as it is critical for us to improve the user experience and quality of our products.

Posted .Hi RBAL,
We're genuinely sorry to hear about your frustrating experience with the WF-C710N earbuds, especially the difficulties with pairing, the shorter-than-advertised battery life, and the less effective ANC when used with your iPhone 15 Pro. We understand how disappointing it is when a product doesn't meet expectations.
To address these issues, we recommend trying a few troubleshooting steps: first, a simple reset of the earbuds, the instructions are listed in the link below:
https://helpguide.sony.net/mdr/2986/v1/en/contents/TP1001829718.html
Also, ensure your earbuds' software is up to date via the Sony | Headphones Connect app; and if issues persist, perform an initialization to restore factory settings. If you don't know how to do it, you can find the details here: https://helpguide.sony.net/mdr/2986/v1/en/contents/TP1001829717.html
The factory reset often resolves connectivity glitches. We truly appreciate your feedback as we continuously strive to improve our products and user experience.

The case is the smallest of the earbuds I own and easy to carry. The case is very secure. Battery life is very good. Sony claims 8.5 hours for the earbuds and 21.5 hours with the case. I have been using these for about a week now and still have 40% charge left. Charging time is about 3.5 hours. Sony has a new app called Sound Connect which allows you to customize the earbuds for noise cancellation which I like to leave off for sound quality but works extremely well. I recently had a power outage that tripped my fire alarms, and I used the earbuds to cancel out the very loud sound from the alarms and it worked great. There are numerous EQ settings that you can choose as well as 2 custom settings where you can set a 5-band equalizer. The earbuds have a touch function for changing tracks, play and pause, increasing and lowering the volume or changing the ANC however in the app you cannot change the tap sequences for the left and right buds so volume for example is preset for 4 taps to raise the volume on the right bud and 4 taps to lower the volume on the left bud and I was not able to change this in the app. I could change this function from right to left but could not change it to single tap for example. All my other earbuds allow for this. Sound quality wise these are exceptional. I have earbuds that cost 3 to 4 times as much as these do and these sound on par with all of them. The sound is open with a great sound stage. The bass, mids and highs blend well together. These can get extremely loud if you want with no noticeable distortion at high volumes. Overall, for the price these are extremely good earbuds and if you are looking for a set of earbuds that sound good and are comfortable to wear and don’t want to spend $200+ these are a great value and sound great.

Overpriced
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Battery life is poor. I have big ears but these are just huge and heavy. ANC leaves a lot to be desired. I would be okay with them if the were half the 130 price.

Affordable ANC Earbuds
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony’s latest affordable earbuds with ANC is here and it’s the successor to the previous model that came before it. While I do not have a direct comparison between those two, what I can compare is whether this is a cheaper alternative to their flagship 1000XM5 earbuds. There are two included pairs of ear tips to ensure the best fit for your ears. As I have small ears, I have opted to use the smaller size tips in order to give these buds a test run. However, as a personal preference, I felt using the silicone ear tips to be a tad uncomfortable and disorienting. The strange feeling of plugging the ears that is akin to feeling a difference in air pressure is something I cannot get used to. It’s probably one of the reasons why I have preferred regular headphones or earbuds with a foam tip. The earbud design is unremarkable to be honest. There’s nothing that stands out other than its matte surface, a world of difference between it and the flagship 1000XM5 which has a glossy/smooth finish. It makes taking out the buds from its case easier than a gloss/smooth finish. Controls are touch sensitive and their functions can be customized using the Sound Connect app. I run a personal curated playlist of music songs to test out new earbuds and headphones. From the short times that I’ve listened through these earbuds, I find that the sound is quite good. While it does lean in on the bass for that extra low frequency punch, it isn’t to the level where it’s detrimental to the listening experience. With a bit of tuning with the EQ, you can tone down the bass to have a more neutral level sound. I might dare say that after tuning, it has the potential to sound better than the flagship brother. But there’s a bit of an asterisk to that. While I did say it has the potential to sound as good or better than the flagship, the codec used for these earbuds is where there may be some unknown audible differences. On the 1000XM5, I have set the codec to LDAC. However, these earbuds do not support it and can only support AAC as the best codec. As for the ANC itself, it works well enough as earbuds. They don’t completely neutralize the surrounding sound unlike regular headphones. But it does reduce enough noise to make listening to your audio more enjoyable. Voice communication test was done via Discord and having a friend record our conversation for a short bit. Audio quality on that seems good enough but without the natural element of wind, I do not know if it’s good enough to prevent wind noise. So is there anything bad about these earbuds? It’s nitpicking and it’s just preference but I wish there were foam ear tips included to give the users options. But the really bad thing has to be the included USB cable. It’s stupidly short, a waste of materials, and pointless to include given the length. Sony has been doing this for years, even on their flagship models. All Sony is doing is adding e-waste by including a short USB cable. Yet after it’s all said and done, is it worth getting? If you’re looking for ANC earbuds on the cheap, then this is the one to get. It might be an even better value than the flagship 1000XM5 model given how good the sound is. Waiting a bit for a reliable 3rd party foam tip is also an option if you cannot tolerate the silicone ear tip. Verdict: Recommended The Good: Good sound, affordable price, has ANC The Bad: stupidly short USB cable The Ugly: the disorienting feeling of air pressure in your ears

Posted .Hi BevA,
We're truly sorry to hear the WF-C710N earbuds didn't fulfill your expectations and caused discomfort with both fit and pairing. Earbud comfort depends a lot on ear shape, so we're disappointed they felt too big for you. We understand the frustration —thank you for giving Sony a try.
Thank you for considering Sony products.
Best regards
