Hi Doug, we're sorry to hear that you have an issue with your SONY unit. To maximize the effectiveness of Noise Canceling and to achieve optimal Sound Quality (particularly bass frequencies) it is important to minimize any gap that exists between your ears and the earbuds. Please choose the size of earbuds and arc supporters that results in the tightest seal. (Try the earbud sizes in order from larger to smaller.) A tighter seal may also be achieved by lightly pulling up on the top of the ear and twisting the headset as you place it in your ear. To achieve maximum stability select the size of arc supporter that fits comfortably and snugly inside your ear grooves. If one side earbud keeps failing. When the volume adjustment function is assigned to the touch sensor with the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app, you can adjust the volume on the headset during music playback. Connect the Bluetooth device to the headset once again.

Hi Reggie1, Thank you for the feedback on your experience with your WF-SP800N. We are sorry to hear about the issue you are having. Please try to initialize the headset to resolve this issue.

Place the headset into the charging case, leave the lid of the charging case open, then hold your fingers to the touch sensors on both the left and right units of the headset for about 10 seconds. Release your fingers within 10 seconds after the indicators (red) of the headset starts flashing.
The indicators (blue) flash 4 times ( ), and the headset is initialized.

Hi Jamtek, We are sorry to hear about the issue with your WF-SP800N. This is not the experience we want you to have. If the effect of noise canceling is not sufficient, Make sure that the noise canceling function is turned on. When you feel the noise canceling function and low-frequency sound are insufficient, change the earbuds to ones that feel more sealed.

When changing the earbuds, try the earbud sizes in order from the larger sizes to the smaller sizes.
The size of the left and right earbuds may be different. Adjust the headset into a comfortable position. For sound quality, switch the settings and check the sound quality mode with the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app. Select "Priority on sound quality mode" to prioritizes the sound quality. Hi StillNoisy, we regret to hear that you can still hear anyone in the room talking around you. The Noise canceling function is most effective for low frequency (bass) noise, such as the noise made by vehicles or air conditioning, but not all sounds can be completely canceled.

You can adjust the settings within the Sony Headphones Connect app, so that sound quality is the priority of the Bluetooth connection.
