My biggest gripe with the 3s were the distance I could be apart from the Bluetooth device and battery life. The distance is certainly improved but the battery life is up for debate. The noise cancelling somehow improved too which makes up for it. These are also less bulky to carry around. Overall satisfied with these

For low sound quality, please try the following:
Turn up the volume of the connected device.
When the volume adjustment function is assigned to the touch sensor with the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app, you can adjust the volume on the headset during music playback.
Even when the volume adjustment function has been assigned to the touch sensor with the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app, you cannot adjust the volume on the headset during a call. Adjust the volume on the connected device. If you are unable to adjust the volume on the connected device, install the “Sony | Headphones Connect” smartphone app and adjust the volume on the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app.
Connect the Bluetooth device to the headset once again.
The sound conduits (sound output tubes), air holes, and microphone holes (in 2 locations) of the headset are not completely watertight. If any water droplets are left in the sound conduits, air holes, or microphone holes (in 2 locations), sound level becomes low temporarily, but this is not a malfunction. See “When you have finished using the headset” and dry the headset before use.
Reset the headset.
Initialize the headset, and pair the headset and the device again.

Quality sound, but....

These are very uncunfortable for smaller ear canals. Now to the good, I do really enjoy the Sony app and the customizabilty. The sound is crisp and clean to my ears but the bass is somewhat lacking. The fit with these buds is decent but they are on the larger side and wings would be helpful to keep them in my ears better. If they were more comfortable and had better bass they would be worth the price tag. I had to return because of ear fatigue.

The WF1000XM4 comes with different sizes (S, M, L) from the time of purchase to ensure there is a great fit for all ear sizes. On the app, you may also customize the equalizer/bass setting. Sony's app for customization of different sounds on EQ. Talk to speech is great and very welcomed. You can also use bud if need works with Google assistance for total hand free use. I been able to wear these for long periods of time . Sound great on Tidal high rez audio streaming. Only con is ...not totally waterproof.

I have the previous model also so I was already a believer. These units have improved over the previous model. Smaller size, and they last longer. The case is convenient with wireless power charging. Having the ability to plug it in or use wireless charging means I can keep the case always charged. Bass is not as deep as I would like, but it's not a dealbreaker either.

This is the only pair of earbuds I have owned which have truly exemplified, “taking your music with you”. The soundstage is not massive but is surprisingly large for how dead quiet the anc is on these things. Well worth the price tag. My only gripe is the comfort of the foam tips which is not great. Although, they do provide excellent noise canceling because of the tight, snug fit.
