Good earbuds...BUT
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These sound incredible and really enjoyed the listening experience. The controls seemed very good as well, but they're not for everyone. If you're like me and use them for both personal and business, the drawbacks were a big problem. The lack of multipoint was annoying. This is not a deal-breaker, but switching between devices was a pain (especially for phone calls!) No dedicated volume control on the buds. You can have 2 of 3: ANC/Hear through, volume, audio controls. You almost need the ANC and hear-through since the ANC is top-notch. You need to be able to turn it off quickly (even with the speak assist). That leaves volume or audio control...and not having one became inconvenient. I do not want to keep reaching for my phone to control the missing one. The fit. They were like trying to put golf balls in my ears. The touch controls are nice, but they are a bit sensitive. When I adjusted my winter hat, I sometimes accidentally changed them. Phone calls were good. But as I mentioned above, switching devices was annoying. If switching devices is not a big deal, then I would not worry about the call quality (which other reviews state you should). I would 100% recommend these if I only used them for music. Since I mix phone calls throughout the day, and the fact that some of the controls are a bit limited, I cannot give them a full five star review and cannot recommend them for hybrid personal/business use.

Posted .Hi MKVV, thank yuo for sharing your experience with your headphones. We're glad that you like the sound quality, controls, and call quality. The WF1000XM4 don’t have a default volume controller. You need to download the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app on your smartphone to assign Volume adjustment function to the touch sensor.
We designed these headphones to provide incredible audio performance and take noise cancellation to the next level. You can enjoy crystal clear call quality, even in noisy environments and our speak-to-chat technology automatically reduces volume during conversation. Plus, you can get 8 hour long battery with noise canceling, IPX4 water resistance and easy wireless charging. Thank you for choosing Sony! Erin

Sony nailed it with these in-ear buds.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love ‘em. I’ve owned in-ear headphones from all the major brands: Apple, Bose, Sony, Jabra, Beats,…. Hands down these Sony’s have it nailed for comfort, BT range, and overall sound profiles. Plus, the Sony app let’s you customize the sound to suit your own needs. In the gym I like the sound profile to be rich with lots of bass and these do not disappoint. I listen to a very wide range of music genres—rock, pop, Latin, classical, flamenco, and yes, some hip-hop too. This is my second pair as I managed to leave my first pair in my gym locker (and of course they were gone just minutes later…. :/). So I went with the off-white color this time around so that they’re a bit more visible. I’m a Tidal music customer too and these buds do an amazing job of delivering the super hi-if music quality that Tidal offers (in fact, when you’re setting up your headphones, Sony “points” you to Tidal and a couple of other music vendors so that you don’t miss out on the high quality music these buds are capable of delivering. All in all, reallllllly pleased with these earbuds!

Best In-Ear Headphones in the Market
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sony WF-1000XM4 are truly amazing. These earbuds offer top-notch sound quality, incredible noise cancelling capabilities, and a comfortable fit, making them a great choice for music lovers and audiophiles alike. This unit trumps any offering from Bose, Bang & Olufsen, Apple, Beats, and all other major players in the market. The sound quality of these earbuds is simply superb. The audio is clear, crisp, and well-balanced, with deep, rich bass and bright, sparkling treble. The soundstage is wide and immersive, making you feel like you're right in the middle of the music. Another great feature of these earbuds is their long battery life. They can last up to 8 hours on a single charge, with an additional 16 hours of battery life provided by the charging case. This means you can use them all day without needing to worry about running out of power. Overall, the Sony WF-1000XM4 are an excellent choice for anyone looking for high-quality wireless earbuds. The sound quality, noise cancelling capabilities, and comfortable fit make them a great investment for anyone who loves music and wants to experience it in the best way possible.

If you’re looking for new earbuds, look no further
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got the XM4s and have been trying them out on ios devices so far (iphone and ipad) and with Apple Music. First thing I will say is that they sound WORLDS better than the AirPods Pro, even with the new Spatial Audio update. I used to have the XM3s, but sold them because they would fall off my ears. These sound better. Definitely not 200% better, but they do sound better to my ears. The case is also much smaller than the previous edition. It isn’t much bigger than the AirPods Pro case. I bike almost daily to work, so that portability is a big deal. I sold the Bose earbuds in part because of the pain of carrying the huge case on my pants pockets. This is a huge improvement for Sony, as the XM3s had a much larger case as well. I had the MW08s and sold those recently as well. Those had great sound, but to my ears, the Sonys have a clearer sound. My guess is because you can equalize sound with the Sony app, which you can’t do with the MW08s. With that limitation, I found them somewhat lacking. That being said, those are MUCH prettier, better built, and have a longer battery life. The XM4s have a very different shape than the XM3s. The XM3s were probably too wide and heavy on the outer end of my ears, and, because I couldn’t get a good seal with any ear tips, they would fall off. The XM4s have a new shape, which pretty much covers my whole ear. If you have very small ear lobes, I doubt these will fit you. As for the tips, the only one that fits me is the small. Medium would fall off after 20-30 minutes, and I didn’t even bother trying the large. I’ve gone out running twice with them, and they stay put. I’ve done 3-4 phone calls. Phone call hearing quality improved a lot over XM3s. I haven’t had anyone complain yet on my voice with the XM4s. The 3s would routinely get complaints about a muffled voice, so I think there is definitely an improvement. Noise cancelling is EXCELLENT. It might be better than the Bose, or, at the very least, it’s right there. I used them next to the washer, next to AC, next to neighbor mowing the lawn, and they cover a lot of sound, especially for earbuds. Battery life has been good so far, longest use I’ve had so far is around 6 hours, and they had around 30% left. As for the music, they sound fantastic. I’ve been wanting to try the B&W PI7s, so I can’t compare to those. However, I’ve heard the Bose True Comforts, the Bang Olufsen E8 2nd generation, AirPods Pro, Soundcore Liberty 2, the XM3s and the MW08s. These beat them all, and I’m hearing it on Apple Music. They would sound even better on Tidal Hi Fi with Sonys 360 Audio (that’s how I mostly used the XM3s), or with Android/LDAC supporting devices. That being said, I’m VERY happy with how these sound on an iphone. They don’t have Dolby Atmos support, but I honestly don’t care. They sound great. The 5th star is missing because they can get slightly uncomfortable on the ears, and because their battery life is worse than the MW08s.

Posted .Hi HonestReviewer,
Thank you for sharing you honest and positive review with the WF1000XM4. We truly appreciate that we were able to meet your expectations with the headphones. Nice to know you are enjoying the portability, case design, amazing sound quality, noise cancelling features, call quality and connection your devices. The WF1000XM4 comes with different sizes of earbuds to ensure there is a great fit for all ear sizes and an optimal noise canceling experience. Change the earbud tips to ones that fit more snugly in your ears. When changing the earbud tips, try the earbud tip sizes in order from the larger ones to the smaller ones. The size of the left and right earbud tips may be different. When wearing them, please gently pull on the top of your ear as you twist the earbud into your ear. This should give you a firmer hold and better noise canceling experience. Usage hours may be different depending on the settings and conditions of use. You may check this link about available operating time of headphones.

Really good earphones!!!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great Sound. Great Build. Great battery life. Having access to voice commands in the earphones is pretty helpful. Call quality is pretty good. Close to bose QC earphones. If you want the best call quality, I recommend the aftershokz opencomm. That mic is SUPERIOR for noise cancelling. Then the bose QC earbuds (wish their battery life was better). ANC works but not good as over the ear headphones. It cancels certain types of background noise. Bose is still the best. App and touch controls are a bit hard to get used to. Get the black instead of the grey. Dirt will show up easily. I did not keep because I do not like that underwater feeling with them in my ear. For sports or work, it will be the bose open ear or the aftershozk bone conduction earphones.

These headphones are asbloutely outstanding extremly comfortable and the sound quality outstanding I take them jogging and it feels like they are falling out but they are not they are secure in my ear. The noise canceling is superb as when i turn them on I cant hear the heavy machinery my friend uses sometimes he has to tap me when the machine is off to get my attention. Good choice for ear buds
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sound quality is great. Punchy lows nice highs where there not to tinny and good mids. The battery has been great on them. The buttons, while missing a more tactile feel they are pretty nice. Noise cancelling is pretty good but thats coming from someone who never had noise cancelling anything. They do kinda start huring after a while of wearing them tho. I read that aftermarket ear tips make them better. Also these things are really big in the ear. I really like them and i dont mind the downsides.

Music to my ears
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very cool features. Great sounds quality Like the option to switch from noise cancelling to ambient noise. Cool feature is if you start talking the sound temporarily pauses. Sometimes a tad annoying when you don't mean to trigger this function. Clearing my throat has caused it occur. A little concerned still about how well they stay put in my ears. I haven't used for exercise yet just around the house. However, they have fallen out a few times and I am still playing around with different earbuds sizes to remedy. Very comfortable though! Do not make my ears hurt like the Bose QC ear buds. I also really like the small and sleek charging case with the magnetic close.

Great sound and ANC with a few drawbacks.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Short and simply, they sound incredible with an impressive level of ANC, outstanding battery life. I also appreciate the reduced size of the charging case over their predecessors. A) The foam tips simply do not last. I read several reviews where users did not get more than a month out of the included eartips. I thought this was a fluke but within about 3 weeks, my tip had began falling apart to the point where I had to switch to a different size. Plan on buying new tips in the near future, the included ones just do not hold up to regular use. B) Ear fatigue has proven to be an issue for me with the XM4s. It might be related to the included tips, but an issue none the less.

Check if the headset is properly worn on your ears. Wear the headset so that the earbud tip is comfortably situated as deep in the ear canal as possible. Absurdly good product.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought them after using AirPods Pro for a while. The battery life is twice that of the AirPods and this is the issue why I replaced them. The sound is simply amazing, I wish I could go into more detail, I’m not a audiophile, but I can hear every note and it works with spatial sound of Apple Music. I can’t say conclusively that it’s better than the AirPods Pro, I don’t have the knowledge to make such a statement, but at the very least they are as good as the pro. I can say that in my uneducated opinion they are better. As to calla, it works incredibly well. As well as the AirPods. This was something I did not expect. The anc is absolutely amazing. It’s not as good as the anc in headphones but these are earbuds. So not much passive noise reduction. But for earbuds it is extremely good. I think that it’s a bit better than that of the AirPods, it’s right up there at that level. You should be aware that you need a really good and tight fit from the foam tips. To get the best anc and sound experience. They are a little rough at first but get softer with use. I had a bit of irritation at first, but now they feel extremely soft and comfortable. I use them for everything from working to jogging. There is only one issue but it does not affect my review as it is not that important to me. The wind noise reduction on pass through could be better. Having said that it shines on everything else. I prefer them to the AirPods Pro that they replaced. I wholeheartedly recommend them.

Amazing buds, but missing one or two things.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, I really loved these earbuds. The sound quality over LDAC with Android is phenomenal. The ANC is amazing, and the app is intuitive. One of my favorite sets of buds so far! For me, the fit is also really comfortable too, and the battery life seems to be stellar! I work in an office and take Teams calls and listen to music all day, and I have absolutely no issues with comfort or even battery life with these. With that said, nothing is perfect, and there are a few things I would like to point out.. One thing I would like to see, that these buds do not have, is locking the touchpad. It may be a small thing, but it comes in handy if you like to sleep with your true wireless buds in, as you can't accidentally bump them while shifting around. Multipoint connect is another thing missing from these buds that I would have liked to have. From what I understand, the headphones (WH-1000-XM4) have multipoint connect and so do even other buds around this price point, so I don't see why these couldn't have them. One other thing, and this is probably a nitpick on my end, but I could have preferred the ambient sound to be louder. On the highest setting, it seems to just be barely enough for me and the environment I am in.. but like I said, its just enough. With that said, I would still 100% recommend these, and do not regret my purchase decisions. They have been solid for the time I have had them (a few months or so), and I see them staying solid for the foreseeable future. I would buy these again in a heartbeat, even with the missing features listed above... If you are thinking about these, do not hesitate!

||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was really impressed with my Sony headset when I first got them. The sound quality was amazing, with great bass and crystal-clear highs, and the noise-canceling feature worked wonders, especially during travel or in busy environments. The comfort was also top-notch, allowing me to wear them for long periods without any discomfort. However, after just a few months of use, the battery died unexpectedly, and I was disappointed that I had to replace them so soon. For a product of this caliber, I expected longer battery life. While I enjoyed the headphones during the time they worked, the short battery lifespan was a major letdown. I hope Sony can improve this aspect in future models.

Really good quality!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound quality is amazing! The ANC is also top tier! The Bluetooth connection is VERY stable, i havent once experienced a drop in connection except when i had turned on the option to prioritize sound quality, which didnt have much benefit in my personal experience, the "priority on stable connection" is the best option. The magnets that hold the earbuds in the case are also very strong and the earbuds havent fallen out at all, even when shaking it. The battery life is also great, it lasts me a whole week or longer on one charge of the case. My only complaints are that sometimes when you move the case around with the earbuds in it, it will activate the auto-connect and connect to your phone randomly. Another one is that the microphone quality when using ambient sound mode is a little muffled, not quite, but muffled. I am also am not the biggest fan of the material for the case and earbuds, they are a durably plastic, but I dont like the matt feel. And my MAIN complaint is that touch controls are delayed by at least 1 sec, and its hard when you are trying to hear something around you quickly. There is a toggle speak-to-chat option, but personally i keep it off because I find myself singing along with my music kind of often and it turns off noise canceling and makes your music quiter. The Speak-to-Chat has a high and low sensitivity setting, but it still can hear when you talk. One thing I wish was an option for these is silicone wingtips, they stay in my ears pretty well, but I'd still like that extra support.

Incredible earbuds
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These earbuds are incredible and definitely worth the money. I originally got the Sony linkbuds S because they were supposed to be the newest and best earbuds from Sony but I think these are way better personally. These buds actually allow me to use Siri unlike the linkbuds which is super convenient, they also have wireless charging unlike the linkbuds as well as a better battery life. The only thing about these buds I don’t like is the charging case feels kinda cheap to me and they are kinda big although they fit super comfortably in my ears so it’s not a big concern. The sound quality is amazing as it’s crisp and clear. The bass is also impressive as it sounds like the system I have in my car with a small sub. These earbuds couldn’t be much better tbh and are definitely worth the extra money over the linkbuds.

||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i just finished watching man of steel with these wirelessly connected to my lg oled, with my brother in the same room 15 feet away scrolling through tik tok at max volume while yelling deafeningly to his friends on discord. and i didn’t even notice, all at 50% volume. immediately, i knew i had to come write this review. these matched my PI7s in terms of sound quality and my airpods max in terms of ANC. the battery life lasts an entire workday. they look extremely cool, they feel comfortable to wear for hours on end, nothing else compares to these and trust me, i’ve tried nearly everything. i’ve tried the PI7s, which despite their top of the class sound quality, had embarrassing battery life and almost non existent ANC alongside a disgustingly bad transparency mode and the weakest bluetooth connection i’ve ever seen with laggy touch controls that took seconds to process commands. flossy carter was grossly wrong about these in his review. i also hated the frankenstein inspo design for these. you basically had giant metal things sticking out of your ear. i’ve tried the airpods pro’s, which do everything the sonys do but worse. they sound worse, they have worse batteries and the anc is slightly worse. don’t get me wrong the pros are great, but the sonys are excellent. sennheiser momentum’s true wireless 2, same problems as the PI7s. notice a trend here? it seems like companies known for audio don’t realize that what makes ANC ear buds so good is amazing software *combined* with good hardware/sound. you can’t just focus on the sound and expect people to spend hundreds just for that. bose quiet comfort in-ear’s, god awful sound quality. nothing special going for these, not worth their asking price at all. what sony has done here is nothing short of magnificent. you get full blown airpods max level ANC, you get crisp, clear, rich sound with deep bass (make sure you turn up clear bass in the EQ as these don’t have that much bass by default), you get 8 hours of battery on a single charge, and if you live in NYC like me you get to flex by never having to hear god awful bands in the subway again. before these, i daily drove my PI7s after watching flossy carters review before realizing how bad the ANC, connection and battery life was. and before the PI7s i drove airpods maxes, which were pretty much toe to toe with these sonys except the fact that they were these huge, bulky things that i got tired of carrying around all the time. and it doesn’t help that it’s summer, so i was constantly sweating in them. so yeah, these are endgame. anyone who thinks differently is just plain wrong imo. unless you’re a big apple guy who needs the seemless device switching provided by the airpods pros, these are the only ear buds you should be looking at.

Great sound, noise cancelling, and longevity
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These really do have good sound, noise cancellation, and long run time (at least compared to AirPod Pros). The touch-tap controls are a bit annoying, they're easy to accidentally activate, or not activate when you want to tap to stop playing. The Headphones Connect app is nice and seamless, shocking when so many configuration apps are crap. I did have them get wonky on me when answering a call - for some reason, when playing music changed to an incoming call, the buds completely failed to ring and allow me to answer on them. Only after I picked up on the phone they switched over which was quite worthless. Could be a weird iOS issue too though, since volume handling is different for some dumb reason on AirPods vs. other Bluetooth headphones.

The best earbuds I’ve ever PERIOD.
|Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have tried almost every top pair of earbuds in all price points (because I started with a budget but I just kept wanting more and more) some how I have tried every ANC True Wireless earbuds at BestBuy now. Even the Bang and Olufsen, Sennheisers, Bose, Master and Dynamic, Bowers and Wilkins, you name it don’t come close to the OVERALL package you get with Sony. Sound quality is top 2 with The B&O ex being slightly better but the app features and customization or just the plain easy to use settings blow everything out of the water. On top of that, airplane noises and baby’s crying are muddled out so impressively that u can sleep like a baby even through turbulence! The only issue I have is the fit is hard for my ear shape to get used to.

Posted .Hi ViP7, We're glad that you like the sound quality, noise canceling, and features. To ensure that the headphones fit and to keep the headphones from falling out, please select the right size earbud tips. We also recommend to properly wear the headset so that the earbud tip is comfortably situated as deep in the ear canal as possible.
Gently pull up on the top of your ears, put the earbud tips in your ear canal, and then twist the earbuds into place. This makes sure the earbuds are firmly in the ear canal.

Good overall wireless earbuds
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Compared to the AirPods Pro, they are better in almost all except for one maine thing. Comfort. The airpods pro seem to just fit without any effort, but because the sony earbuds are foam tips they will feel weird and tight, plus the correct way to apply it earphone looks ridiculous. Sound quality, bass, battery life, noise cancellation are all better on the Sony earbuds.

Good sound quality and noise cancelation
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got these to supplement my airpod pro gen 1's on long trips. They're not as convenient as airpods when paired with an iPhone, but the sound quality and noise cancelation make them a suitable replacement for airpods at $200. Just depends on if you'll miss the features that airpods have when paired with an iPhone. With that said, if you have an android go ahead and get these. They're comfortable enough for a couple hours or more for me but that depends on your ear shape, as these go in your ear and rest in the upper cup of your ear. I read that the eartips provided wear out easily, so I bought some comply foam tips just in case. Easily worth the sale price at $200
