Not just the sound but noise cancelation has a bit difference then the headphones. But if people arent really headphones kinda person then i would recommend these earbuds, by far the best ones with sound and noise canceling.

You may also be experiencing a symptom called listener fatigue. That is where your eardrums work hard to manage the volume that flows through your ear canal. The louder the volume, the bigger the strain on your eardrums, which then causes the feeling of fatigue. We do have recommendations with regards to this issue.

These earbuds are for the ANC, and great sound. The instrument seperation and sound stage is pretty good. If your on Android definitely use LDAC , it helps the instrument seperation greatly. I can hear things ive never noticed in songs I've listen to 100 time.

Amazing earbuds for mobile devices

One downside is that the software on this on windows 10 is inadequate, the sound quality once connected is poor unless you enable Dolby atmos. On top of that, a microphone isn't even detected on my windows device and audio often cuts out when watching videos or shows online. Would 100% recommend if main use is for mobile but would not recommend for PC use.

While we are glad you like the quality and sound of the WF1000XM4, we're sorry to hear the discomforts that you are experiencing while wearing the headphones and unit was returned. These headphones comes with different sizes of earbuds to ensure there is a great fit for all ear sizes. As a suggestion, to reduce discomfort while wearing the headphones, try to use the right size according to the size of your ears. When wearing them, please gently pull on the top of your ear as you twist the earbud into your ear. This should give you a firmer hold and better noise canceling experience.

Painstaking quality

Full stop. The fact that the Sony Connect app allows an equalizer to interact with them is just icing on the cake. The WF-1000XM4 crumbles in practically every other category. These are not fit-and-forget earbuds where you put them on one moment and in another, you forget they're on. You are constantly reminded of them, either from the anxiety of the seal coming loose from you talking to someone or eating something causing your facial muscles to slightly unseat the buds from your ear. Or you're reminded of them from the 20 minutes you've had them on and they start causing discomfort or outright pain to your ears. In both cases, your second job will be repositioning these things relentlessly. The struggle of these buds is the constant need to achieve that much required seal in your ear. If you don't get the seal, the sound quality doesn't matter, nor does the active noise cancelling because you're leaking too much environmental noise. Unlike the AirPods Pro, you can't just plop these in your ears. Every session with these begins with the process of "screwing" them into your ears. First you think you got them in correctly, but nope, you hear too much of your surroundings for that to be the case. Then you you try to "screw" them in deeper. You find that's a little better but it's not a total seal. So you push it against your ear and you've finally acquired a grip on the buds. Little do you realize, this is just a fight of attrition until someone comes to talk to you and now that you're moving your face, all that work you did to get the buds in your ears has been for nothing. What I've experienced with the WF-1000XM4, in the moments where I had good seal on them, were great. Up there with Bose in the ANC. Better battery life than the AirPods Pro. Really though, none of this means much if one is incapable of keeping them in their ears.

"Best" ANC Wireless Earbuds with Fatal Flaw

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.It's doesn't sound as good as many "audiophile" IEMs in its price bracket, but it stands leagues above 99% of wireless earbuds out there at the moment. The noise cancelling is also in a league of its own as I can't even hear A/C units that are on full blast right next to me for the most part. Fit is okay, but could be better. The foam tips are subpar and can get fatiguing over time. Definitely recommend getting Comply tip replacements or something as they increase comfort by very noticeable margins. Battery life is to the point where you wouldn't notice it unless you just decide to never charge, ever. Easily reach the advertised times. Now, the fatal flaw: it's a pain to connect properly. I don't mean connecting to devices, that works seamlessly. The problem is many times the earbuds don't notice they're in use despite clearly being in your ear, so it may not play audio or the finger gestures don't register and you have to constantly take out and reseat or place them back in the case and then put them back in your ear. I haven't figured out a consistent way to mitigate the issue, unfortunately, and all I can do is hope it's fixed soon with firmware. But until then, although it seems like a small gripe, for the price you're paying something as simple as noticing that it's in your ear should not be prevalent and is more annoying than you'd expect.
