Theyre good noise cancelling headphones, but because of the previous pair dying and having to reconnect after only using them for less than an hour. However, due to multiple issues I had to return them. The first issue was that the left earpiece went silent for some reason sometimes when changing albums. That was minor and resolved easily by removing the earpiece for a few seconds and putting it back in the ear. That solved it most of the time. The major issue was that the case sometimes just refused to charge. It was like it switched itself off and there was no way to turn it back on. No lights, the buds didn't register as charging or that they are in the case at all. Then it just came on on its own after 10 minutes or so. The third issue was that the ANC wasn't at all what most reviewers claimed to be. Call quality also wasn't that great in a noisy environment especially. I might've gotten a lemon, but it's hard to say because they are out of stock in every store close to me. Another issue was that they aren't that much better than my Galaxy buds pro. Certainly not $150 better.

My Samsung Buds Pro have been replaced.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.My experience is of an Android user persepctive, I have not used these buds or any other with Apple products. I've owned almost every iteration of the Samsung Buds and headphones. Aside from the Sony WH-1000XM3 over ear ANC headphones, I haven't used many Sony Bluetooth earbuds because they were bulky for the buds and the cases. I have been EDCing the Galaxy Buds Pro until now. The XM4s have replaced the Pros for EDC. The Pros still have a place in my useage but more on that later. Active Noise Canceling (ANC) in this earbud is amazing. As soon as I put in the XM4s the outside world disappeared. It's an odd feeling but not in the way older ANCs caused a strange pressure on my ears. I feel I can tune out other sounds around me while working in my bustling office while listening to my music or podcasts. Music sounds great with these buds and the bass hits fairly hard given the size of these things. My Note 10 supports the LDAC codec which is buried in the Developer Settings and there is a noticeable difference LDAC has to music. There is 360 audio support with Tidal and Deezer, but I don't use either service so I don't know how impressive that is. The design of XM4s have definitely improved over the XM3s. They are sleek but still larger than my Buds Pros. The Sony case has become much smaller and does not feel bulky in the pants pocket. I have always preferred the design of the Samsung buds and their cases. Sony is catching up. One of the biggest problems for buds from other manufacturers are comfort. They seem fine at first, but over sessions over 45mins, other buds have caused pain from hot spots making me get rid of them right away. Historically Samsung has always been comfortable to me. When I first got these I had them in wrong and they started to cause me pain. Then I used the apps fit adjustment and realized they needed to be rotated down where the metallic circular trim needed to be at the six oclock position. After correct positioning they are comfortable as jamming marshmallows in my ears and was able to keep them in for 3hrs without any discomfort. The memory foam tips are super comfortable for me and dont get me as sweaty in the ear as silicone tips. I have in the past switched the comply foam tip on my samsung buds. So this is a definite pro for the Sonys. That being said the XM4s are still a little bigger than the Bud Pro and Lives. Sometimes i listen to podcasts in bed and the larger XM4s protrude a bit too much so the Samsungs have a place on my nightstand. The magnets that hold the buds in the case are very strong. Sometimes makes getting them out with one hand a little cumbersome, but I dont worry about them popping out. The case has wireless charging which is to be expected with ANY truly wireless earbuds at this stage. My work environment can go from relatively peaceful to chaotic with people barging into my shared office nonstop so I prefer to manually set ANC or Ambient Noise which is easy with the left ear bud (default). Speak to Chat feature works well. But sometimes its triggered when i clear my throat so I mostly don't have it on. Battery life is solid on these buds and easily get me through an 8-10hr workday (intermitten use not constant). I would like to see multipoint bluetooth connections. The over ears XM3s can do it, not sure why it was omitted here. I hope they roll out the feature via software update and not have to wait until the XM5s. But if they can improve the XM4s by keeping everything that it is now in a tighter package, I'll be game to upgrade again. There is very little to dislike about the XM4. I believe a new gold standard has been achieved.

They will fall out of my ear even with the smallest ear tips. Using one ear bud isn’t compared to the beats pro. Each ear Bud has its own assigned capabilities and I really dislike that. I can answer the phone with just my bud and if I do answer my phone it won’t connect to the bud. I think it’s best for Android phone

We regret to hear that you are not having a complete experience because of the fit and connectivity of the headphones. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. To achieve the best fit and comfort, make sure that you are wearing the headphones properly. Put the headset unit with the (left) mark into your left ear and the headset unit with the (right) mark into your right ear. The left unit has a tactile dot. Twist the headset unit to fit it snugly into the ear canal, and adjust the positioning of the headset unit until it fits comfortably. Wait for about 10 seconds for the earbud tip shape to stabilize. Hint: If you feel earbud tips are difficult to put into your ears, change the size of earbud tips or squeeze earbud tips lightly before wearing the headset. When changing the earbud tips, try the earbud tip sizes in order from the larger ones to the smaller ones. The size of the left and right earbud tips may be different.
Regarding the connectivity issue, make sure to update the software version of the headphones (via the Sony Headphones Connect app) for optimum performance.
When receiving a call by operating smartphones or mobile phones, some smartphones or mobile phones receive a call with the phone instead of the headset. With an HFP or HSP connection, switch the call to the headset by holding your finger to the touch sensor on the left or right unit of the headset for about 2 seconds, or by using your smartphone or mobile phone.
