Main concern was battery life, I drive for a living and the power beats pro would last me a good 9 hours with no ear fatigue. I’m sure the Sony’s could last about the same but sadly I couldn’t find out, the earbuds began to hurt after about 3-4 hours. The other problem was sound quality, they just simply didn’t get loud enough which is inexcusable at this price point! I had the app downloaded and paired to an iPhone 12 Pro. Throughout the day I would constantly try raising the volume while finding out it was already maxed out. So today I returned them and bought the beats studio earbuds and after a few hours I’m already enjoying them more than the Sony wf xm4. First off the sound quality is much better, no app needed on iPhone just pair and go. The beats get very loud and sound good not to mention very comfortable. Something about Apple and comfort, these studio beats, my power beats and AirPods Pro are all very comfortable and can be worn for hours without fatigue. I really wanted to like the Sony’s but sound and comfort are at that top of list when it comes to earbuds and they simply didn’t have it!

problems with right earbud

Sony has agreed to refund my in full, though, so that's a plus.

But for me, they have two fatal flaws. The first is on my Pixel 6, if there is a pause between playing audio, one side stops playing music. What's interesting is it always the side that is set for Google assistant. If I change sides in the Sony software, then that side stops responding. It is extremally frustrating. Say I am listening to music, for some reason the music stops for a while to buffer when it picks back up only one side will play. The second issue I have is these are horrible if you wear a hood as they will take the hood touching them as you trying to do something like change track. So for snowblowing, these are a no go. Snowboarding, no go. Walking in the rain, no go. But for the times when I don't have a hood and know that there won't be any pauses in audio, these are great.

However, my pair only lasted 1 month and they randomly died having to send them back. Also, the tap to switch songs feature is nice but having to tap twice instead of once to skip a song gets annoying. Also, my pair had a weird humming noise while on calls.
