They are very comfortable and the noise canceling is better than my AirPods. Only complaint I have is that phone calls don’t work as well as AirPod Pros, either the call will drop or the person on the other end can’t hear me.

The in ear buds fall out at the slightest excessive movement. The memory foam aspect is nice, but it takes a long time for them to mold to your ear shape. Phone calls are crystal clear. There is an app to optimize their functionality, would have preferred it be better explained, as I stumbled onto it after months of use.

We're sorry to hear that the earbuds is falling out on your ear and your difficulties with the app. If you have tried all the earbuds tips size that matches your ears, try to put the earbuds deep in the ear canal as possible and squeeze earbud tips lightly before wearing the headset to prevent it from falling. When wearing the earbuds, twist the headset unit to fit it snugly into the ear canal, and adjust the positioning of the headset unit until it fits comfortably. Wait for about 10 seconds for the earbud tip shape to stabilize. Sleepy earbuds turn off randomly

One earbud would consistently D/C for me over and over with no warning (not caused by a battery depletion). I eventually found out that it was related to that earbud going to sleep while I was actively listening to music, which could be a software OR hardware issue. Turning off the "sleep" functionality fixed this, but also meant I can no longer simply take the earbuds out and know they'll go to sleep after 5 minutes, but instead have to put them away. Basic functionality like "sleep" on a pair of Bluetooth buds that cost $200+ isn't something I expect or accept. I would have returned these if I'd known the issue would persist (I thought it was software growing pains).

We want to make sure that you’re taken care of and go through some troubleshooting with you to make sure your Truly Wireless Earbuds are great. Make sure to update the firmware of the headset by performing a software update (via Sony Headphones Connect app)

You may be able to resolve some issues by resetting and initializing the headset, then pair the headset and the device again.

In the factory settings, the built-in IR sensors detect when the headset is attached to or removed from your ears, enabling the headset to pause or resume music playback, as well as control the touch sensors and voice guidance. If the earbuds are not properly worn, tap operations may not work or you may lose the Bluetooth connection. Both earbuds must be properly worn. When the IR sensor cannot detect one or both earbuds, such as when they are worn too loosely, the earbud tips are not attached properly, or the IR sensor is dirty, the earbud that is not detected may turn off after 15 minutes due to Automatic power off function.
• Make sure the earbuds are properly fit to your ears.
• If the wearing detection automatic power off function reacts incorrectly when enabled, try to clean the IR sensor using a dry, soft cloth.
• If the issues still occurs, turn off the Automatic power off function in the Sony Headphones Connect app. With this setting off, the wearing detection function is disabled.

Avoid these ear buds

After struggling with them for three weeks I am kicking myself for not returning them to Best Buy for a refund. Here are the reasons to avoid the WF-1000 XM4. Getting them in your ears is a 5 minute task at best. Once in, they will tend to fall out irrespective of what size of ear tip you use. They have "process" where you can get your ears measured to make sure you have the right tip. Unfortunately this is linked to one of three music services you have to pay for. While struggling to get them in your ears you hear, ambient sound on, noise cancelling over and over until you are ready to scream. Then Blue Tooth will not connect and the solution is to them them back in the case and then repeat the struggle to get them back in you ears. Ongoing blue tooth connection issues and yes Sony per you web site I made sure the app is updated. They just will not connect any longer to any device. Sound it not that great when they would connect to my devices when I first purchased them. You can only pair to one device at a time. I am out almost $300 with a device that will not work, My advice AVOID these at all cost!

Depending on the assignment of the touch sensors and/or the Voice Assistant setting, you may only be able to use one unit of the headset.
To resolve the issue, check that the touch sensors are setup up in the Sony | Headphones Connect app to support the use of one earbud at a time.
Note: If you want to use one earbud by itself, make sure to turn off the Pauses when headphones are taken off feature.
