I actually bought the Bose Quiet Comfort earbuds at the same time so I could compare the two. I preferred the soft foam of the Sony over the rubber of the Bose because it provided a better seal in my ear canal and seemed like it would stay put. After 4 months the foam is breaking down and seems to soak up moisture. Inside of the earpieces also seem to be breaking down and I'm losing volume in both earpieces. I ended up returning the Bose earbuds because the Sony seemed immediately better but I think long term the Bose would be a better purchase.

The foam materials used in the earbud tips deteriorate through long-term use and storage, and depending on the usage and environment. We suggest replacing the earbud tips if the deterioration results in reduced performance. With regard to breaking or losing volume, we can set the unit to “Priority on stable connection” mode, if set to they are set to "sound quality mode". Make sure no there are obstacles between the antenna of the connecting Bluetooth device and the antennas built into the left and right units of the headset. Wouldn't stay in my ears due to size

After all, I've had the over the ear whxm2's and whxm4's and they've been my favorite headphones... so I figured these would beat the AirPods Pro. Wrong! The only thing better about the Sony's is the ambient noise setting, due to the ability to have ambient music on in the background and hear people more clearly than with the AirPods Pro. Definitely not worth the extra money, especially if you have an iPhone. Also the Sony's had a lot of wind noise even with the wind noise reduction setting turned on, while out on the trail, which was slightly annoying.

Poor Noise Canceling Function

What a disappointment! (My comparison point are my Bose QC Earbuds True Wireless Noise Cancelling In-Ear Earbuds.) I have tried all the ear bud tips. I have tried using the Sony app on my Samsung S22+ phone. I have tried all the Sony tips for getting the noise cancelling to work with no success. (I even reset the buds.) The sound quality is good but the noise cancelling is just flat-out poor. I am returning these at this point.
