The best in-ear headphones I've ever used. The active noise cancelling (ANC) is incredible. I get around 8 hours of battery life before I need to throw them in the case for about 15 minutes for about 30% charge. The sound quality (using LDAC on Android) is amazing. They've made my repetitive flights so much less daunting. The noise cancelling on these deserves another shout out. I've got Airpod Pros 1st and 2nd gen, Sound Cores, Galaxy Pros, Pixel Buds, and even cheap JLABs. Not one of them even compares in noise cancelling. I work in a server room with VERY loud fans (80-90dB constant). We recommend newbies use earplugs. I tried some and they were ok, Airpod Pro 2's were much better, but these made me feel like I was sitting in a calm, quiet, empty room listening to soft music or even someone reading me a book. The ANC is THAT good and the sound quality makes it even better. My ONLY complaint with these is that when not playing anything they emit a super high-pitched noise. If you can hear a dog whistle like I can, you won't want to use these without something playing. It doesn't go away when playing something, but it's overwhelmed even at low volumes.

The sound in these were great. The controls are thoughtfully laid out and the profile was great as well. They don’t stick out from your head a lot. The battery power is decent too. The ONLY problem I had with these was that they hurt my ears like crazy. Otherwise, the Sony app was nice too.

I recently purchased a pair of wireless earbuds and I must say, I am thoroughly impressed! The sound quality is amazing, with crystal clear highs, deep bass, and a well-balanced midrange. These sound great and block out sound very well. The only downside is that they don’t go very loud and sometimes they disconnect for no reason

I got these because my over ear XM-4s weren’t always practical. These give a very similar sound to the over ear model. They don’t fall out either. Noise cancelling is the best I’ve experienced so far. They can get a little uncomfortable if you wear them for long periods of time. But they come with 3 sizes of tips. I was using the largest size. Maybe a smaller size would feel better. The charging case is a good size and the batter on botb the earbuds and the case last a good amout of time. Sadly I destroyed my pair in the washing machine. So try not to get them wet. :(

The mk4 are everthing you need in good earbuds soild battery lifespan good materials fast charging and excellent sound quantity definitely recommend even for the price.

Been wearing the XM3 as my daily for the last year and the XM4’s smashed them. The lighter headphone and more snug fit allows the headphone to sit more still in my ear. The new tips are way more comfortable in the ear and really help keep the seal. Noise canceling is incredible for non-overear. The sound quality is improved but use the added lossless features to make them even better. The case has slimmed down a lot and fits very comfortably in my pocket. The touch functions are way more responsive and easier to use. Negatives there is still ear fatigue after extended use, at least for me only when I take them out. The fit is better on one ear then another, both hold snuggly but one side just feels a bit better. They still have the interrupting bing noise if you have the ambient noise adjustment. Was really hoping that would go away as it is super interruptive. Overall first impressions are very positive but we will see if more problems arise over the year.

As my Review Summary states, these Sony WF 1000XM4’s are the best headphones I’ve ever owned. And I’ve had many different brands. I am an Apple fanatic, I have iPads, iPhones, iPods, AirPods, and my latest purchase from Best Buy was the AirPod Pro’s. The AirPod Pro’s were my favorite until I received these from Sony. Why do I like them? The reasons are obvious. Right out of the box, which, I must say there are professionally packaged and when you take the case out of the package it is truly a work of art. I charged them on my wireless charger and pairing to my iPhone Pro 12 was a breeze. Within minutes after downloading Sony’s App on the App Store I was listening to clear, crisp music. And it only got better!!! The app itself is a work of art, it allows you to manage and control these in-ear noise canceling headphones like no other brand out there. I loved that Sony took the time (wish others would as well) to allow you to try and compare different sizes of the foam earpieces, AND, they even tell you which size fits your ear, and TRUST me, it works. I have a problem w/ in-ear headphones that after about one hour, my ear canal begins to feel “fatigue” to the point they begin to hurt. Not w/ these, it feels as if they were designed to fit my ear exclusively. And once you compare the three different sizes of foam earpieces they truly become noise cancelling, FAR BETTER than the AirPod Pro’s! As I played around in the app, I came across a Kane Brown video about 360 listening, and I watched and listened to the video and the sound was amazing. I knew then, that I wanted to have that listening experience all the time and I downloaded a paid monthly subscription app (TIDAL) and I haven’t listened to any other since. The sound of these headphones in conjunction w/ TIDAL, is like being immersed in music, the sound is all around, and you can distinctly hear each instrument. I have never had that experience w/ any other headphone. The music, whether you use TIDAL, Spotify, Pandora, Amazon Music or the music downloaded on my phone, there is NO COMPARISON when I listen to it on these Sony headphones. Sony did an amazing job on the build of these, the weight is unreal, the texture, feel, the color, again, to me they are a work of art. As I’ve stated above, the music on these headphones, is second to none. If there are other’s out there that are better, they would be hard to find, and hard to beat these Sony’s. The music crisp, I’ve listened to Chris Stapleton’s version of Tennessee Whiskey, Nelly and Florida Georgia Line, Lil Bit, Gospel music, Bluegrass, most of the Genres out there and I can’t explain how the music sounds, other than to say its almost as if you are there! Absolutely stunning! Thank you Sony, for a well built, beautiful piece of art! I know they may seem a little pricey, but trust me, the money is well worth it when you combine these Sony headphones, Sony Music Center App and TIDAL, you will never experience music like this EVER! I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT

Best earbuds I have ever purchased. Worked amazingly on a couple flights to reduce the plane noise to almost zero; same with the airports. As someone who struggles with sensory issues, they were amazing. The plane noise essentially disappeared when I turned on ANC. The white noise of people moving about in the airport also disappeared. The audio quality is precise, without being fatiguing. No distortion with high highs and low lows playing simultaneously. Highly recommended for anyone who needs impressive noise canceling and amazing audio quality. Have yet to have any battery stresses, even running them for 10 hours intermittently across 2 flights and a 3hr layover. The app is the only low point. Once I got through the 4 screens asking me to give Sony my data and having to deny each of them, the app is basic and not super detailed. It helps set up left and right taps, and tap and holds. Not much else unless you like giving up your data for some features.

Overall the rating for these Sony headphones is around 3.9. The deduction of the rating score comes from the bulkiness of these earbuds. They fall out a bit much for my liking so I rarely get them out. The sound quality is amazing - would be even more enjoyable if they would stay in my ears.

Sony has really done well with this product. Earbuds are sturdy, well-fitted and quite comfortable. Remote commands through earbuds work very well. Noise canceling (exterior sound inversion) works extremely well. Battery life is problem free and carrying container recharges earbuds quickly. Product delivers dynamic, quality audio that completely exceeds expectations.

These fit very snug in the ear. I can go for run or gym workout and don't have to worry about these falling out my ear even if I am sweating. Battery life is pretty solid I manage to squeeze about 7hrs out before having to charge. Sound quality is really good. Music or movies played sound clear. The only negative I truly notice was if you are using noise cancelling and theres a hi pitch sound. It will temporally stop noise cancelling

This is my first pair of higher end true wireless earbuds. I've used beats, Samsung, 1more and a few others and the sound quality on these is definitely an improvement. I splurged because of the battery life, features, and sound quality. I managed to get a good fit with these and my right ear is a very difficult fit. I gave up on the new echo buds 2 because of issues with the fit!

5 stars for sound quality, the effectiveness of ANC, and features. 1 star for fit. These are quite big and the nozzle is pretty short. I could get the foam tip to work in my right ear but not my left. Looking at reviews, I tried 2 of the most highly rated 3rd party foam tips w/o success. SpinFit CP360s saved me. There are other less expensive silicone tips that might work but after spending $90 trying 6 different 3rd party tips, I'm going to stick with the CP360s. You shouldn't have to spend anything to make such pricy buds work. The problem is, if you don't have an airtight fit, you will lose bass and will not get good ANC. The phone app has a cool feature that allows you to confirm whether the fit is good enough for the ANC to work properly. Even when I could get the seal on the left with other tips to work, I'd have to really jam it in there which sometimes caused pain, and if I went for a walk, they would come loose. When the ANC is working, it's amazing and potentially dangerous while out walking because you may not hear an approaching car until it's too late! Once you experience the ANC working properly, you can tell easily when you don't have a good fit because quiet sounds like the hum of a refrigerator come though where as they would be totally absent with ANC working.

Love (almost) everything about this. The sound is amazing. The volume level is loud which I love. I only have to set the volume level to about 55%-65% and it's super sufficient. The bass is solid and clean. ANC is top notch. Way better than the AirPods Pro and the Sennheiser MTW2 which I both have. One major major issue for me that's why I can't use the buds is the FIT. They hurt my ears so bad. The medium was recommended via fit test on the app. But they hurt. Heck, my ears even got dented. I switched to the smallest buds and I can't get a good seal, thus the sound and ANC are compromised. I feel bad for giving this a very low review, however, since I can't use it at all, I have to give it as such. I really wanted to keep it. I am just disappointed. So, please take this review with caution. It's not a bad earbuds at all. It just didn't work for me. If you buy it and don't experience pain, then you are most likely going to love it. I definitely would say to anyone who is looking into the buds or even curious that to give them a chance. *** hopefully there can be alternative tips that Sony will come out with or recommend in the future so I can try them again. Yes Sony... I love them, but the fit just didn't work for me.

You can stop looking. I've listened to a few other earphones at this price point and honestly, I can say these are the best sounding earphones. Bose was probably the best feeling earphones in the ear. A little heavier in design but they sat so nicely in the ear. Unfortunately they can't compare to what Sony has done in noise cancelling, custom EQ , and 3D audio. I was just amazed at the sound when listening to podcasts in 3D audio that I kept looking around at work because I thought someone or something was next to me and it tripped me out. I laughed everytime even knowing no one was around me. The Marshmello design ear buds feel nice and they feel comfortable in the ear. If you can get these at a discount, you'll be lucky and so surprised at the sound. Battery life is about 7 hours at extreme quality. Fast charging. I recommend these.

I wouldn't say they are the most comfortable headphones I've ever worn which is why I don't get them 5 stars but they do sound great. I have both the competing brand (white) pro's that are much more comfortable and in my opinion are naturally more comfortable and sound great as well. I've done side by side comparisons trying to decide if I'm going to return these or not and honestly can't make up my mind as these aren't substantially different than the competition, which are more comfortable. I have another couple of days to decide so I'm hoping to make a final decision. I really want to like these because Sony make great products, but I'm also loyal to the traditionally white brand and they sound great as well. The Sony's stick in your ear and the remainder in the hole in your ear and sometimes come out if moving around a lot. They sound great lying still but take some time to get used to if you're active. The competitive brand seems to set in from the beginning and to me fit well no matter what I'm doing. I've read reviews where the white competitive headphones seems to come out but I'm a avid bike rider and runner and haven't had that happen.

I liked the previous generation better. I wear them at work and use the ear tapping functions a lot. The previous generation tapping worked way better and smoother than this generation. I also liked the ear fitting pieces better. Though i do believe the noise canceling workes better on these but they seem pretty similat in that aspect. I will say that the definit improvement of this gen is the battery lats longer
