Hi Antwan, thank you for your feedback. We're sorry if the earbuds can be painful after a short peried of time. This is definitely not the listening experience we'd like you to have. Allow us to help and turn your experience around.

Reasons why your ears hurt when putting on or wearing headphones:
1. You may be experiencing a symptom called listener fatigue. That is where your eardrums work hard to manage the volume that flows through your ear canal. The louder the volume, the bigger the strain on your eardrums, which then causes the feeling of fatigue.
Note: Try lowering the volume or take a break from wearing them for a while.

2. How long have you been wearing the headphones? The longer you wear headphones, the more your ears may hurt.
Note: You may need to limit your headphone usage.

You can remove one unit of the headset from the charging case and use the unit by itself.
In this case, only the unit that has been removed from the charging case will turn on.

Depending on the assignment of the touch sensors and/or the Voice Assistant setting, you may only be able to use one unit of the headset.
Refer to the following and check the setting in the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app.

We are sorry to hear that you had an issue with the noise canceling feature and you had to return the wireless noise canceling in-ear headphones. This is definitely not the customer experience we wanted you to have.

The headset cannot fully perform the noise canceling function unless the supplied earbud tips are used.
