My favorite earbuds so far
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have bought two XM4s in total and for good reason. The earbuds have good battery life, strong connections, great sound, and it has some good features with its app. Definitely worth the price as long as you take good care of them. Dont get me wrong though. They are strong. They have good water resistance and are built out of good and sturdy materials. I have droped them many times on accident on a variety of surfaces and even in water and they have been completely fine. I would definitely reccomend them.

Sony Rocks!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a new pair of ANC earphones, and was waiting for reviews to come out. When it did, it was everything i was looking for, great sound, great comfort, a bit pricey (but i dont mind paying more for a great product). I got them from Best Buy and had them home delivered. These are the best i have ever had! Why the 4 stars instead of 5? Its not perfect. There is a "wooshing" sound that only goes away when theres something playing, its weird. I hope an update will fix this. I use the middle sized buds and they fit great! I can wear them for hours with almost no pain, i can feel it a little afterna couple of hours, just a small adjustment and its good. I never had one fall out during activities and feels very secure. I tweaked the EQ to my liking, and it sounds awesome! I do highly recommend these!

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound quality for music is incredible. I just wish it "integrated" with iPhone a little better. The fit is great also. I purchased the AirPod Pros and returned them almost the next day, the fit was terrible. couldn't get them to stay in my ears. These stay in both ears with no problem. like i said just wish they were more iphone compatible.

It was good while it lasted
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was excited when I decided to buy these for myself. To be honest, I didn’t want true wireless earphones, but everyone follows Apple, so I pretty much didn’t have a choice since I’m not a cans fan. it’s been several years since my klipsch r6bt headphones (please no not the neckbands the ones that sit on the back of your ears) had died, and I couldn’t buy another pair. I was looking up to buy a few. These are basic headphones that provided such a dynamic range on Bluetooth. Keep in mind no noise canceling, but were excellent at blocking out all the noise within the New York subway system. I will say these Sony headphones somewhat passed the test when it came to blocking off the noise. I can only speak for my experience, but I have to fight against Crying kids people who shout as their normal speaking voice, people who refuse to spend $20 on simple headphones for a $1200 phone and think they’re TikTok videos are something everyone wants to hear, last, but not least the noise Of public transportation. These did hold up OK in all of those factors. I just had to make sure they were inside of the air canal properly. As you crank up the volume, you lose the bass sound dynamics of the headphones. The quality drops drastically. It becomes mostly mids and highs with a little bit of distortion. This brings me to my next factor. Exercising the air canals can get warm, and sweat does happen. It happens quite a good amount, where I’m jogging, and the headphones are about to come out. It blocks out the grunts, the weight, slamming, and the annoying gym music. I know the new models are about to come out and I bought this when it first came out, but I hope the deal with the noise cancellation and the sound dynamics. I believe I paid $300 at a time. Having a smaller size and a way to clean the air tips would be a great plus. I hope a company goes back to the around the ear hooks With the string. I might be willing to try to beats worst case. Fast forward almost 2 years later pretty much today. I now have a problem where they headphones are fully charged, and within 10 minutes the right headphone Drops down to 10%. One time I was upset about this at the gym and I just pressed the touch sensor and it turned it back on kept playing for another five minutes then the power off phrase. I’m not the type of person that wants to or that looks to buy a new device every year at these Crazy prices. It seems harder to find anything that last near or over five years. As much as growing up, Sony was always a brand of high standards I still remember the wega plasma TVs. Oh recent LED or OLED TV at my doctors office has me always wanting to know the model number. I’m starting to question this Reputation since it can be a mixed bag. It’s a bit sad because I recently purchased an LG TV and it Was not up to standards. My next TV was going to be a Sony. While I still may go towards it, there will be a lot of skepticism of my own decision. Regarding the next model, I think I’m going to move towards Bose. Fail me once shame on you, fail me twice let’s not make this happen.

King of ANC and Sound, thorned by no multipoint
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Owned the previous model WF-1000xm3’s, which had long been the best earbuds I’ve ever used or owned. Until now. XM4’s are significantly more comfortable and 10% lighter, polyurethane-foam tips which fit and stay in your ears better than the older silicone, case looks and feels nearly HALF of the XM3’s case, which was one of only complaints about that model. The noise cancellation is somehow even BETTER than before. Serious, you can drown out the box-fan, the bustling of a store, absolutely erase everything around you, and hold the left-bud to quickly enable an ambient-focus mode where you can hear everything around you even better while pressing the bud/tap to keep enabled—great for when wanting to hear things around you when walking. Absolute best sound I’ve ever heard in premium buds to compliment the ANC. USB-C charges and also WIRELESS option baked onto the case itself. DSEE Extreme and Priority on Sound Quality over Stable Connection make these go beyond basic buds, and LDAC support if your device paired has the ability, for even higher-quality audio. The two things the AirPod Pro’s have over this— seamless multipoint integration in other Apple devices (WH-1000XM4 over ear headphones have ability to pair to two devices). These buds, the WF, so far cannot. A firmware update to hope for, for sure. That, and the AirPod Pro’s are much better in the mic department. The Sony’s aren’t atrocious or anything, maybe slightly muffled, but the Pro’s are just built for having a better mic function— stems are closer to your face, emphasis on calling/dictations with seamless coverage. If you can live without those two features being absolute S-Tier, you’re in turn getting the best sounding, heavier bass bringing, comfortable, world-blocking noise-canceling earbuds. They really are worth every penny.

Awesome Earbuds
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are the best earbuds Ive ever had by far. The insane noise cancellation combined with their very good sound makes for an epic combination. I bought these after my AirPod pros stopped working and have been extremely impressed. The noise cancellation is very good, the sound is amazing, and the battery life lasts forever. Only thing is it takes a while to figure out how to put them in your ear and have them be comfortable, but they are very comfortable once I figured it out.

Best all around buds
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sound quality is excellent for ear buds. The sound profile can be easily adjusted through the app and the touch controls are fast and responsive. The noise cancelation and noise pass through work surprisingly good. They are probably the best all around earbuds as long as you don't mind the slightly large size. They are smaller than Bose but much bigger than Beats and similar. Nothing in the same price range will be even close to the sound quality. Bass is strong without muddying up the mids and highs.

You can enjoy crystal clear call quality, even in noisy environments and our speak-to-chat technology automatically reduces volume during conversation. We also recommend to properly wear the headset so that the earbud tip is comfortably situated as deep in the ear canal as possible.
Gently pull up on the top of your ears, put the earbud tips in your ear canal, and then twist the earbuds into place. This makes sure the earbuds are firmly in the ear canal.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There earbuds are a super solid choice for anyone who loves to hear all the details In their music. The bass can also go quite hard in these, not the highest I've ever had in earbuds but close. The good thing about this base though is that it is clear and sounds good, not just loud and clunky. These do however have the best noice cancelling out there! It's actually pretty nuts. They come with three different ends for different sized ear canals. Overall very good.

Fantastic audio, but weird issues hold them back
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: Audio quality is fantastic. Plus the headphone app having an equalizer is very nice. Foam tips are comfortable, just make sure you pick the right size. Medium felt okay at first but hurt after a couple hours, but I switched to the small tips and it's been smooth sailing. Battery life is fantastic. The case being so small and providing so many more hours of battery is awesome. I really like having both USBC and wireless charging for the case. I personally really like the look of the earbuds as well. They look and feel very premium. Being able to use one earbud at a time if you want is a nice feature. Cons (the reasons why I didn't give 5 stars): The most annoying issue these have is sometimes the left earbud doesn't seem to wake up when audio starts playing. For example, I'll put them in my ears, they'll both announce their individual battery life remaining, and I'll start playing music but no sound comes out of the left earbud. The way to fix it is by pausing the music for 5-10 seconds and play it again and the left earbud will finally join in with some audio. If you are browsing Reddit and clicking on videos, this becomes EXTREMELY annoying because once audio stops playing they seem to go to sleep within a few seconds. So if you don't click from one video to the other fast enough, the left earbud won't play anything without doing the pause workaround. The quality of the mic during phone calls is not the best. I've been told that I sound very far away and if I don't speak quite loudly they struggle to hear me. Another weird issue that only happsn during phone calls is there is some strange feedback you hear when people are talking. It sounds like a sort of metallic sound that happens moreso when people say an "S" sound. It's very weird and happens sporatically, and can be quite loud and annoying sometimes. I thought this was a defect in mine so I went to my local Best Buy and returned them, the replacements had the same problem. I did this 2 more times...they all had the same issue. Sometimes it was in just the left or the right earbud, sometimes both, and the loudness was also different between all of them. I feel like the left earbud not playing audio can be fixed by a firmware update, but the mic quality and feedback issue might just be hardware problems that can't be helped. If the left earbud problem is fixed I might consider these 5 stars, because honestly I just want really high quality audio for music.

Posted .Hi Shaunsy, thank you for sharing your output. We are glad that you like the battery life, comfortable foam tips, and audio quality. We're also sorry if the mic quality did not meet your expectations and the left bud doesn't seem to wake up when the audio starts playing. This is definitely not the experience we wanted you to have with our products. We'd love to help you troubleshoot your problem and turn this into a better experience.
If you are using the WF-1000XM4 without downloading & installing the Headphones Connect App, yet they DO set up/activate Google Assistant: by default the RIGHT headset is assigned Google Assistant hence by design the LEFT side then cannot be used by itself.
Here are additional troubleshooting steps/issues to consider:
- Both sides must initially be paired/registered via Bluetooth
- If Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa will be used => ensure it is assigned (using HPC) to the side being used
- Ensure the customer is aware of the default HPC App settings è ‘Automatic Power Off’ and - ‘Pauses when headphones are taken off’ are turned ON.
- If removing the Right headset to use the Left headset by itself: if the Right headset touch sensor is inadvertently touched, you’ll need to restart playback on your smartphone.

If you're having an issue while on call, please ensure you have the latest software installed. The software version can be updated using the Headphones Connect App.
In addition, restarting or Initializing the headphones are also a recommendation.

||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great Build quality, comfortable, outstanding noise cancelling & great battery life. I had no idea these buds were this good! I had the Airpods Pro 2 and these sonys have better noise cancelling. High mids and lows are equal if not slightly better than apple. The sony app has a very functional equalizer as well as pre configured audio profiles. Thats only a few of cool features. Absolutely no regrets. As far as im concerned well worth the money.

Sound isolation/Ambient sound
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very good sound isolation, better than my Samsungs and Senheisers. The ear tips are probability the reason of this and are very comfortable. The ambient sound is also very good. Its not like other earphones that make all the spunds around you exponentially louder, just right. I also like how that it lets you ajust the EQ within the app (much recommended). The battery lasts very long and the case charges fast and the Bluetooth connection is seamless.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really enjoyed the XM4 but I didn’t like that they stuck out so far and felt heavy.
