    They are great when working. I need to return them because the left headphone just make a loud noise in your and then it will go back to like a quiet low volume . You can barely hear it or turn it up. The right head phone is working. I did notice when im talking i will lose bluetooth connection now

    Do not waste your time...

    Sony headphone wh 1000xm4 is great... this... waste of my time going to the store to pick it up and all... No clear definition of instrumental section and no bass.. Everything sounds very flat. Right after this, I put AirPods pro and they sound way better now... Thanks Sony to make AirPod pro sounds great!

      If the size of the earbud tips does not match the size of your ear canals or the headset is not properly worn on your ears, you may not obtain proper sound qualities or call performances with the unit.

      Change the earbud tips to ones that fit more snugly in your ears. When changing the earbud tips, try the earbud tip sizes in order from the larger ones to the smaller ones. The size of the left and right earbud tips may be different.

    I really had good thoughts about this earbuds. Honestly a $100 pair of buds will make a better job than this things. Sound quality is very poor and max volume is very very quiet. After 12 days of use they suddenly stopped working. Changing case doesn't show signs of life.

      For the low sound level, please try the following steps below.
      Turn up the volume of the connected device.
      When the volume adjustment function is assigned to the touch sensor with the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app, you can adjust the volume on the headset during music playback.
      Even when the volume adjustment function has been assigned to the touch sensor with the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app, you cannot adjust the volume on the headset during a call. Adjust the volume on the connected device. If you are unable to adjust the volume on the connected device, install the “Sony | Headphones Connect” smartphone app and adjust the volume on the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app.
      You can also make few adjustments to your headphones settings to suit your needs using the Sony Headphones Connect app. It has an Equalizer/CLEAR BASS setting which can be customized to fine-tune your music. This will give you more control over your headphones and their performance.
      Connect the Bluetooth device to the headset once again.
      The sound conduits (sound output tubes), air holes, and microphone holes (in 2 locations) of the headset are not completely watertight. If any water droplets are left in the sound conduits, air holes, or microphone holes (in 2 locations), sound level becomes low temporarily, but this is not a malfunction. See “When you have finished using the headset” and dry the headset before use.

      Initialize the headset, and pair the headset and the device again.

    The Sony WF-1000XM in-ear headphones are lightweight, and small than the competition. The smaller charging case fits in your pocket easily. Each headphone is clearly marked with a color-coded circle and a letter for each ear. Each bud has three sizes of cushions S, M & L. Once the correct size is selected just gently squeeze the cushioning and insert into ear canal. The soft foam will expand and lock the bud in place. The set-up is your standard blue-tooth. Once paired you can select between ambient noise or ANC with a push on the left bud. The controls on the right bud are the industry standard, but the work better than the competition. There is a QR code included that will open a document with all the tap codes. Once your up and running, download the app and customize to your liking. The battery will last about 24 hours according to the included manual. The unit comes completely charged. I used them on my Samsung Galaxy S10 phone. Switching from music to phone call and back easily. The quality of sound both incoming and outgoing was great. I would recommend the WF-1000XM to friends and family.

    I got to different pairs. Really loved the sound but the ANC rusulted in mettalic ting sound. Got two different pairs and experienced it with both. Tried link bud s after and was also dissatisfied. Ended on samsung bud2 pro

    Buzzing/cracking in right earbud.

    Only only had these for less than 2 weeks and right earbud is making cracking and buzzing noises (sounds like a fly in my ear). I haven't even dropped them once! I tried adjusting the sound settings to see if that was the issue but to no avail.

      You may hear a cracking or popping noise is heard while or just after inserting the headphones. This happens because air bubbles inside the earbuds get crushed and restored in response to movement that changes their shape. This is normal, and not a malfunction. When the Noise Canceling function is set to on, you may hear white noise, a small electrical noise with continuous static sound. The white noise is generated because of the characteristics of the Noise Canceling function. This isn't a malfunction of the headset.     First off when you open the headphones the packaging is well put together. The headphones are well built and bit really well in your ear. I did use the fit guide and actually went up to the larger size and they fit even better than I had thought. Pairing the headphones to your phone was seemless and once you start using them the sound that they put out is very nice. I have used quite a few different wireless headphones and these are close to the top for the money. I then downloaded the app for them and found out that they have different EQ settings which was nice to change and see how they sounded. I really like that I set the tap feature of the units and set it to different settings like noise cancelling or ambient sound. The battery life is really good and I like that the dock can charge the headsets when not in use. The one draw back that I have noticed using wireless headphones is the max volume could be a bit louder but I understand why companies set the max levels but the headphones are still great sounding units.

    The Absolute Best Earbuds... If They Fit

    Fit/Size: They are big earbuds and if you have tiny ears these may be really uncomfortable, luckily the base of the driver is flat therefore it doesn't push against the cartilage inside your ear, but if you have tiny ears the outside of the earbuds will definitely push against your outer cartilage which can feel very uncomfortable. I have small ears but because the driver base is flat I have no major issues with fit, and I have never had an issue with them falling out at the gym. Sound: The sound is top notch, best in class, the Sennheiser, Samsung Pros, Jabra 85t, or Airpod Pros all fall short compared to these, the bass sounds warm and satisfying with the highs sounding clear but not harsh, I do not have any issues with sharp noises at the high end such as claps or hissing, The clarity and imagining on these is unparalleled for wireless earbuds. App/Features: This is a category that most earbuds fall short with, most companies have horrible app support with little customization of the controls, EQ and call settings, these do not have that issue whats so ever, the closest competitor would be the Jabra's or Samsung which both give you a good amount of customization, but the Sony's set themselves apart with their features such as multi device connection, as well as either earbud can be used independently while the other is in the case, this is a feature that has mainly been on the samsungs and apples but there is a catch for the sony to have this feature you must go into the app and turn off "Voice Assistance" which is under the “System” page in the app, then you will be able to use either earbud independently. Call Quality: The call quality is average to meh in windy situations, the samsung buds pro and airpod pros are significantly better than any other earbud. If that is your most important feature then you should pick either of those depending on your phone's platform. Indoors the call quality is fine and the other person sounds good and in noisy environments like the gym the other person could tell I was in a gym but said it was not distracting, but calls outside in the wind are very distracting to the other person. Compared to Alternatives: If sound quality is your most important feature then these are genuinely the only option, if the insane price tag of $280 is understandably too high then the Samsung buds 2 or the Jabra 75t (not the Jabra 7 Pros, those have too many issues) are amazing alternatives that deliver plenty good sound and call quality and have plenty of customization in the app. And if you are on Iphone then why are you looking at anything other than airpods and the new beats buds? The integration with their products alone beats out any alternatives. Overview: These are a must buy if you are in the $250 to $300 price range and worth a serious consideration if you are in the $200 price range and these are on sale.

    Found these Sony earbuds to be very difficult to figure out how to setup and use. The noise cancelling quality was not even close to as good as the Bose QuietComfort earbuds. Returned these and purchased another set of Bose QuietComfort earbuds.

    I bought for my Walkman music. Music sound quality is poor, always sounds tinny at best adjustment. Altogether the approx $250.00 plus tax was a complete waste. I would have thought Sony would be excellent quality... I'm very disappointed.

The first thing we recommend is Downloading the Headphones Connect app to fine tune your music. In this Application there is an equalizer that can be used to tailor the sound to your liking.

      We'd love to troubleshoot the issue that you are having and make this a better experience for you. In the meantime, Installing the latest software of the WF-1000XM4 will help improve the overall performance of the headphones (Version 1.1.5) which you can download and update using the Sony Headphones Connect app.

    Headphones kept turning off and on without me telling it to do so. It also decided when it wanted to use the noise cancelation to be on or off. Very frustrating to keep trying to turn it on after it shuts off

      Please check the Automatic Power Off function is set to OFF using the Headphones Connect app.
      Select [Automatic Power Off] from the Dashboard to set the time until the headphones turn off automatically. You can also set the power not to turn off automatically.

    Right earbud battery dying after exactly 1 year. Days out of the 1-yr warranty. These are not built to last. I need to take a break from Sony.

    Great until battery life took a nose dive

    It was great - couldn't be happier than after using it for over a year the battery just started going flat really really fast. It would go from 77% charge to zero in under 15mins.

    Worst headphones I’ve ever owned the sound quality sucks noise canceling didn’t really work that is why I returned as soon as I could my knock off brands worked better

    Could not wear the ear buds and talk on the phone. The person on the other end could not understand when I spoke. There was damage to the foam on the ear piece that muffled my voice and caused static when I spoke.
