I have to admit, they sound GREAT and the noise cancellation is superb. However, there are those ear tips. After only about 15 minutes, they begin to hurt my ears. What a shame! Now I have a pair of great sounding earbuds that I WANT to use, but can’t because of the pain they cause. Because of that, I cannot recommend them.

To keep the headphones from falling out, please select the right size earbud tips. We also recommend to properly wear the headset so that the earbud tip is comfortably situated as deep in the ear canal as possible.
Gently pull up on the top of your ears, put the earbud tips in your ear canal, and then twist the earbuds into place. This makes sure the earbuds are firmly in the ear canal.

Battery problem

Did some research online and found out I was not the only one. I paid almost $300 (Including taxes) They are just way too expensive to not even last you 2 years. Very disappointed with Sony since they were always my first choice.

Good sound bad battery

Where is the noise cancellation?

Out of the box, sound was horrible, took about 90 mins of playing with the eq to get acceptable pleasing sound. Also the app says I have a good seal, but I don't hear any difference between noise cancellation on or off. I can hear a conversation 10 feet way with noise cancellation on. I've searched the internet for help and seems a few people are having this problem. don't know what else to try, except returning them.

If the size of the earbud tips does not match the size of your ear canals or the headset is not properly worn on your ears, you may not obtain proper sound qualities, noise canceling effects, or call performances. If any of this is the case, try the following.
• Change the earbud tips to ones that fit more snugly in your ears. When changing the earbud tips, try the earbud tip sizes in order from the larger ones to the smaller ones. The size of the left and right earbud tips may be different.
The “Sony | Headphones Connect” app will help you to determine which earbud tips are most suitable for you to achieve the optimal noise cancellation effect.
• Check if the headset is properly worn on your ears. Wear the headset so that the earbud tip is comfortably situated as deep in the ear canal as possible.
• The noise canceling function is effective in low frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices.
To get the sound that you prefer, please try the different sound modes found in the Sony Headphones Connect app. The WF-1000XM4 also have the ability to adjust the equalizer in the App to preset settings or save your own custom equalizer settings.
• When the Adaptive Sound Control on the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app is turned on, the wearer's actions, like walking or running, are detected. The noise canceling function is automatically adjusted and the Ambient Sound Mode may be activated according to these actions.
To make the most of the noise canceling function, turn off the Adaptive Sound Control, and try to turn on the noise canceling function manually when you need it.

Not meant for smaller ears-Too heavy and painful

None of them fit properly and they really start to hurt my ears not long after I put them in. I let my wife try them for a few days to see if they were more suited for her and she also found them uncomfortable and too heavy for her ears. While the sound is good, that aspect alone doesn't make the price I paid for them worth it.

Not really worth your money

The earbud's battery now last for about an hour and a half. Somes may said that because of the new updates but mine still on the old version cuz I turn off the automatic update. You guys can check on youtube that there are many people have the same problem and maybe worst when their bud last for 30 minutes.

Not worth the price

For 300$ they’re not worth it in my opinion. First off these headphones are not loud at all. You will get more sound off dollar store headphones I am not trying to sound like an exaggerated unhappy customer I even had my brother try them he was like “these are all the way up?” I felt embarrassed because when I told him the price he was even in shock. 2nd, there is not even a slight bass I mean all headphones have it to an extent I hear no bass at all. 3rd the headphones for very weirdly! I put both sizes they just fall out my ears laying or walking you have to dig them in your ears. 4th there is no noise cancellation at all! That was the main reason I purchased these. I test this in many ways never notice any noise cancellation. I literally just received them and will be taking them to be refunded and purchase some other headphones. I don’t know how so many spoke highly of these! After seeing a particular review on here I felt so confident now I am disappointed and embarrassed.
