Missed the Mark! Sony WF1000XM4 In Ear Headphones

I am a big fan of Sony's over ear headphones I have xm4 I really love those. But Sony has missed the mark on these my opinion. Maybe they should offer a 3 year bud replacement? because the batteries on the ear buds are poor and start loosing there charge very quickly? or maybe figure out a way that you can replace them? when you come out with better buds in the future? maybe they will fix this issue, at least they should admit this is a problem? also even with the app and different modes they simply are not loud enough. I only say this because Sony makes some of the finest headphones, but these have missed the mark and I have come to expect greatness from Sony. Lets hope for redesign?

Not impressed with sound quality or the fit

I love them, but the earbuds do not have the same rich sound. Also, the ear cushions available do not fit my ears. When I was out doing gardening, they fell out several times.

Little noise cancelling and uncomfortable.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the Sony WF-1000XM4 earbuds and used them on a flight to Florida from Northern Michigan. I did not find these very comfortable. It seemed I kind of had to screw them into my ears, but I was able to use them for a couple of hours. I also brought along my ten year old over the ear Bose noise cancelling headphones to test them against. According to my perception, the over the ear Bose headphones stopped about 70% of the jet noise, while the Sony earbuds stopped about 10%.. After I got home I went to a friends house to test them in his woodshop against some new Bose noise cancelling earbuds he purchased. He turned on the circular saw and dust collection system for background noise. The Sony's seemed to stop about 10% of that noise and the Bose stopped 50 - 60%. I know this goes against published reviews, but it is what I perceived. I returned the Sony earbuds to Best Buy and purchased the Bose earbuds .

Amazing ANC, painful wesr after 30 minutes.

These are a literal pain in the ear. I can get maybe 2 hours max in tolerance. After that i need a few hours break to let my ears rebound. I work from home and so these cannit be daily drivers.

Okay sound, bad fit

I didn't try the ANC as I don't like ANC. The most important thing is fit though. The headphone did not fit my ears and cause a lot of pain.

We are really sorry if our WF-1000XM4 didn't fit you well, and that you are not satisfied with its noise canceling function. This is certainly not the experience we were hoping you would have. The WF-1000XM4 features an Ergonomic surface design for a stable fit. If you feel earbud tips are difficult to put into your ears, change the size of earbud tips or squeeze earbud tips lightly before wearing the headset. For the proper sound quality, noise canceling function, and call sound quality to be effective:
• Change the earbud tips to ones that fit more snugly in your ears. When changing the earbud tips, try the earbud tip sizes in order from the larger ones to the smaller ones. The size of the left and right earbud tips may be different.
The “Sony | Headphones Connect” app will help you to determine which earbud tips are most suitable for you to achieve the optimal noise cancelation effect.

Worst battery lifespan in the industry. 1hr+ 13mo

I purchased a pair of Sony WF XM fours basically the day they came out. I've used them religiously for the past 13 months. I noticed the left earbud which remained in the case longer than the right earbud on most days, was only giving me an hour or so of playback within the last month. I was disappointed but the idea of replacing one earbud was not the end of the world, as my right earbud was still giving me around 5 hours of playback. Within the last week my right earbud has now also gone down to a little over an hour. I don't know about you but headphones that only last an hour or so are basically useless. Ultimately Sony says I'm out of luck since there is only a 12-month warranty and I can pay for new ones or pay to get them repaired. Sony being the only company that I can find willing to repair the headphones. So I paid $21 a month for one year for the pleasure of these headphones. Unless you want to spend more on your headphones then you do on a 24-hour fitness membership, I suggest you look elsewhere.
