Great headphones, not so impressive battery life

No issues or complaints about that. I picked these up in November '21 and after 1,200 hours, the battery life started to dip significantly, requiring a charge after an hour of use. At 1,500 hours, I am calling it on these after getting only 15 min on a full charge. If you can live with this limitation, pick these up immediately as you will not be disappointed. However, I can't help but feel burned by the battery life for what I paid.

Amazing earbuds, expensive..

The in ear- earbuds are decent, really good quality sound, app really doesn't do to much (equalizer, setup adaptive sound locations), but easy enough to install. The fit of the earbuds in ear gives me a litfle issue, but the majority of the time it doesn't, fits pretty well (came with 3 size tips). The Bluetooth sync was pretty easy to figure out. I would say the price is the most dreadful thing about the sony brand, I have always hesitated to get them, but they have been worth it each time. The case is pretty small, which is awesome for taking them with me to work or other places, it also has a magnetic hold when they are in the case so they don't fall out, but they are easy enough to take out and put back in. The noise cancelation is pretty good, and the adaptive sound has been pretty helpful. Overall I would probably say double check the newest sony headbuds before you buy this model, or at the very least aim for buying these when they are on sale.

The foam ear piece is annoying and the earbud itself is large so it’s constantly working its way out of my ears, regardless of which size foam pads I use. My favorite feature is when I start talking it pauses the playback and amplifies external sounds automatically then returns to playing when I stop talking. Unfortunately the issue with size and them not staying place are forcing me to buy other earbuds.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased three different earbuds, the Sony WF-1000XM4, the Sony WFC500, and the Jabra Elite 7 Pro. I kept the Sony WFC500. I wore each pair for 15 minutes. The XM4s started hurting my ears. I had to use the medium foam tips to create a seal. I didn’t like the foam tips to begin with. While the noise cancellation was good, the bass was not. There’s also no volume up or down button on the earbuds. The Jabra Elite 7 pro, I could not get them into my ears properly to save my life. They never sealed, and it felt and looked like they were about to fall out. Then I tried the Sony WFC500. These are the ones I kept. The silicone tips created a better seal in my ear than the other two, and I noticed ALMOST no difference in outside noise between this pair and the other Sony‘s XM4. These earbuds have probably twice as much bass when using the bass booster function in the equalizer. I don’t have a problem hearing people, and they don’t have a problem hearing me, and I drive a semi truck. Directly from the earbuds these have the ability to turn the volume up and down, use your phones voice assistant, answer and hang up a phone call, play, pause, skip forward and go back when listening to music. All from the ear buds. The WFC500 earbuds have actual tactile feedback when pushing the button on the sides. It’s a nice firm click. Would I recommend the XM4? Yes, BUT! I would seriously encourage you to check out the WFC500 as well. You may find a bit more money in your pocket the next day.

Our WF100XM4 are supplied with different sizes of earbud tips so that you can achieve the maximum effects of the earbuds. In designing these headphones, we also consider the ear canals sizes as it varies from person to person, and can also vary in size from the left to the right sides. To keep the headphones from falling out and for comfortable listening experience, we recommend selecting the right size earbud tips and wearing the earbuds properly.

My First TWS IEMs as an Audiophile

Owned for 9 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Before my journey with these, I'd mainly use my Focal headphones at my desktop PC or my Campfire Audio IEMs when not at my desk, but with being driven crazy after all this time WFH and makeshift + shared office space, I knew I needed a TWS headphone w/ ANC. Fortunately for me, when I'd finally decided I was going to buy a pair, this model had debuted and I went in store and bought it at day 1 MSRP. It was and still is apparent that its technical capabilities, sound signature and other 'audiophile'-relevant attributes fall just a bit short of my regularly driven headphones on these many fronts. But, I realized given how much convenience was provided to me.. at $280, and at what is effectively minor losses on these various aspects, I was elated with my initial trial period. After several months, I'm still very happy with them, especially since how sublime its UX has been - seamlessly switching ANC to Ambient noise profiles, and simple, yet surprisingly robust Android companion application. The only issue is their terrible mic's call quality for voice on any platform, on any device. I'm clueless on how their ambient sound is even any good. I just make sure I'm at my desktop for any actual significant work meetings. As far as sound quality itself, I feel like there is definitely unit variation because I feel that my unit has been more balanced than headphones' YT or crinacle's written reviews have made it out to be, but for the rest of its attributes, I find that their described characteristics during their reviews have been quite spot on. The only thing is, from a view-point of these IEMs as an audiophile lifestyle product, they have been incredible. At this point, I even use them more than my actual 'audiophile' headphones, but I'd probably blame my work life balance for that, however, for any of my own friends & family, I'd say they are far more than good enough. I wish I could include an actual TWS comparison, especially since I also recently just acquired the acclaimed AKG N400 on sale for an insane $48. But I haven't gotten around to even opening them and I want my 25 BB reward pts now

Whenever they were worn for long periods of time (a few hours or more) they would begin to hurt my ears, but not the interior of it, but rather the exterior as it would be resting in a way that put pressure on a section of my ear. If it wouldn't have been for that, they would have been amazing, as their sound quality, active noise cancellation, and battery were amazing.

Ear canals vary in size from person to person, and can also vary in size from the left to the right sides. Please select the right size earbud tips. We also recommend wearing the earbuds properly.
-Gently pull up on the top of your ears, put the earbud tips in your ear canal, and then twist the earbuds into place. This makes sure the earbuds are firmly in the ear canal.

Far exceeds the Airpod Pros and the older WF-1000XM3 earbuds. Portability: Not as compact as some other earbud cases, but definitely manageable. Far exceeds the carrying case of the older WF-1000XM3. Magnets: STRONG Overall Fit: They fit quite nicely in my ears (not perfectly though), but everyone's ears are different.

I have had 2 pairs of these as my wife stole the 1st from me cause she loved them! I use them for phone calls, music, reduce environmental distractions. the noise cancelling is top notch! I work with servers and it cuts 80%-90% of that noise and still be able to easily hear music and voices through them. 12/10 would recommend!

The Best Noise Cancelation but Low Volume.

The Noise Cancelation is the best on the Market. But the Volume is lower than the Sony WF-1000XM3. Which means its lower than most of the Competition. The WF-1000XM3 had NFC, you can touch your Android phone to it and connect instantly. Harder to connect the WF-1000XM4 but they are Wireless charging with a few hours more in lasting time. The Bang & Olufsen EQ is way better Sound Quality and good enough Noise Cancelation. Which means the Bang & Olufsen EQ wins.

Thank you for the review. Volume quality will depend on the audio source and battery percentage of the headphones. Also, If you feel that the bass (low frequency) sound is low or there's a difference in volume levels between the left and right sides of the headphones, change the earbuds to another size that comfortably and snugly fit both ears.

Ear fit is really important

Probably one of the best investments I've ever made. So I was really excited to try these for a bit of a different form factor Pretty much, the sound was fantastic, and I think they look really stylish. The noise canceling was also phenomenal, BUT....... only if I could get them to sit right in my ears. which was almost impossible! Without a perfect seal, the noise canceling does not work. These are pretty big, and so often I would get one ear completely sealed, but the other one I had a much harder time with. I tried the different foam tips that come in the box, but it didn't really fix the situation. I was constantly struggling to try and get both earbuds sitting perfectly in my ears at the same time. Another annoyance was that they would jiggle when I walked, so every footstep was like a loud boom through the noise canceling That got pretty annoying too. I guess I blame this stuff on my particular ear shape? I haven't tried any other earbuds like this, so it's hard to say. The only other in-ear headphones I've ever used are some $5 wired ones I've burned through dozens of over the years. and I guess they never gave me any problems In the end I returned them because it was just too much of a hassle for me. But yeah, the audio quality is phenomenal so long as they fit right in your ears!

We regret to hear that the unit had to be returned. This is definitely not the customer experience we want you to have. We always recommend wearing our WF-1000XM4 wireless headphones correctly while using the right size of earbud tips to prevent them from falling off and to have a great listening experience. There will be instance that the customer will use a different set of earbud tips at the same time. They can wear small on one side and medium on the other. It really depends on the customer's ear shape. This will minimize any uncomfortable feeling and prevent them from jiggling or falling off. To know more, you can visit the links below:

Be ready to drop it (even with a case) and wonder of the case will snap in half. Also thank god they have wireless charging because my port went in under a year which is absolutely absurd given the price. Even so, I have yet to see a company which can match the sound quality Sony earbuds have. Layered, rich, and very immersive. Just take note of the corners they cut and wait for a sale. They are clearly saving money on manufacturing costs here if the case is any indication.

Awesome ANC earbuds, but iffy fit sometimes

It's pretty neat being able to wear them on a walk with ambient sound on and some music playing and being able to still have a conversation. It's also great to use ANC at the gym. My only qualm would be the sizing for me: for some reason I can't get a good fit on the right earbud, it likes to pop out sometimes when I'm exercising with them on. I wish they sold replacement foam tips or had an extra small size. I think I would need extra small for my right ear.

Ear canals vary in size from person to person, and can also vary in size from the left to the right sides. If you have tried all sizes of ear tips and can't get the best fit for the right ear, we recommend wearing the earbuds properly. Gently pull up on the top of your ears, put the earbud tips in your ear canal, and then twist the earbuds into place. This makes sure the earbuds are firmly in the ear canal. Also, replacement earbud tips are available in S, M, L sizes only.
